What do you like best about the product?
I like the flexibility in creating pages, and templates.
What do you dislike about the product?
The AI features sometimes get in the way of the interface.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Organization and brainstorming made easy.
Versatile and Intuitive, Perfect for Personal Use
What do you like best about the product?
I enjoy using Notion for a variety of tasks, especially for keeping my notes organized and displaying data in tables. What I like most is the simplicity and polished look of the platform, along with the vast options for integration with other platforms. Notion's cross-platform capabilities are very well done; it doesn't feel clunky or forced like other apps. I use Notion on desktop, mobile, and even my tablet, and it syncs very well across different platforms and operating systems, maintaining a great look and feel everywhere. The initial setup was super easy with Google authentication.
What do you dislike about the product?
Tables could be more flexible, more like in Excel kind of style. They could have more options for formulas and custom calculations. More formulas support and more options for visuals like Excel or PowerBI would be great. Basically, there should be a simpler version for simple tasks and a more advanced version for power users.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I use Notion to organize notes, manage reminders, track budgets, and handle light accounting tasks.
Powerful Customization That Adapts to Changing Needs
What do you like best about the product?
The capacity for customization makes it a really powerful tool. I feel like I can adjust it to suit changing needs of my role and responsibilities.
What do you dislike about the product?
It isn't always the most beginner-friendly, but I can tell their team is working to enhance the onboarding process to make features more approachable.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
File organization, collaboration with my team, and basic data organization/management
Centralized workspace has organized complex client projects but needs better privacy and pricing
What is our primary use case?
My main use case for Notion is to track all of my personal projects and client projects, as well as using it as a daily task board. I actually use it as a multi-purpose solution for me, and I use the calendar as well.
For client projects, I create a project on my project board and then I go in and start filling in all of the data for that client, including any kind of specific documents depending on what the project is. If it's a coding project, I add the code to that project into Notion. If it's a consulting project, I write in who the client is, what their annual revenue is, what they do, what their goal is, and the current use case that I'll be providing for them. I break everything down into its own specific page within that project so I can manipulate or review all of the specific documents for that project. I use data tables, different kinds of spreadsheets within Notion, and I create all of that with Notion, using different Notion boards and databases.
I use Notion calendar and their scheduling tool, and I've also built in my own product in Notion, my own AI product externally that reviews all of my projects and lets me know where I am on a daily basis. I do know that Notion offers this as a native tool. However, I think that all of their external tools that you need to pay for are too expensive. There should be one price and it should continue to be a lower price without all these additional add-on prices.
How has it helped my organization?
Notion has impacted my organization positively because it's the only tool that I prefer to use.
The key improvement and key USP for me and my internal team is that Notion keeps me organized. I can easily find my projects. I've actually extended it out to different clients and built out different templates for them so that they can use Notion, making it a really easy place for us to coalesce and find data together.
What is most valuable?
I think that Notion's best features are how easy it is to use for a first-time user. The templates on Gumroad are really great as things that you can add into your different Notion pages. I believe that whatever kind of product you want to build or whatever company you're running, there's a solution within Notion, and I appreciate the additional plugins that can be used to run those specific projects.
Some of my favorite templates that I use for Notion from Gumroad are work templates. I use the pre-made templates for project tracking and building out client boards. I started using those a long time ago and then I was able to remove or delete things that didn't work for me or that I didn't need. It was easy to manipulate and easy to make more aligned with my use case. An integration that I've used in Notion was a survey maker plugin for surveys. I've tested out the integration with Google calendars, which works really well. I think Notion's mobile app is also really great.
What needs improvement?
I think that using Notion when you record your meetings is really intrusive, so you have to turn that feature off. I think that's why I prefer to build my own external tools so I can save money in that way.
Notion can be improved on pricing. I think Notion needs to focus on data privacy, which is really important to me. Ideally, when I go into a meeting, my Notion note taker automatically pops up, but I've never added that feature on because I don't prefer that sometimes new features start automatically without alerting the user. I believe that's a privacy issue for me. I do think that all of the additional add-ons with Notion that cost more money are excessive. I think you have an affordable product, and if you want to add AI or add on a different tool, charging another 14 to 20 euros for that is not going to put you ahead of the game, whereas Claude is already doing everything that Notion can do as a kind of CMS or you can build CMSs. I think that you need to really think about how integrating currently used tools into your product without charging more money. If someone is non-technical and they have to build their own tool that you charge money for, I think you can lower the prices there.
For how long have I used the solution?
I have been using Notion for four years.
What do I think about the stability of the solution?
What do I think about the scalability of the solution?
I think Notion has really big scalability. I've used it with small teams and with large teams of over 150 to 200 users. It works really well because it can be used across different departments and different teams with everyone having their own dedicated page and subpages within that. I think that's a real big plus and it's easy to find.
How are customer service and support?
Customer support for Notion is mediocre at best.
Which solution did I use previously and why did I switch?
I've used different solutions in different companies such as Google Workspace, Jira, and Trello. Notion has been the best tool. I think that Notion does all of those things that Jira, Trello, and ClickUp do all in one place. I know that they can be integrated in if they're already tools used by the enterprise. However, I feel that Notion gives you more leverage in what it can do.
How was the initial setup?
I didn't evaluate other options before choosing Notion. I really preferred Notion.
What about the implementation team?
I choose not to see a return on investment.
What was our ROI?
I choose not to see a return on investment.
What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing?
The key improvement and key USP for me and my internal team is that Notion keeps me organized.
Which other solutions did I evaluate?
My company does not have a business relationship with this vendor other than being a customer.
What other advice do I have?
I would tell them to get familiar with how to build their own templates, try to understand what templates are available, and really understand the use case of how they're going to use the product before they make a decision. Do a week trial and test it to make sure that it can really accommodate all of the different use cases you have. Depending on team size and company size, make sure that each department knows how to manipulate and use the pages. If not, maybe find a specialist that can build these pages out for you.
I found this interview was informative. You had a lot of questions, and I do think that the process is interesting using AI. I do think that it would have been nice to actually see an avatar as opposed to just a static photo. So maybe work on that technology. I would rate my overall experience with Notion as a 7 out of 10.
Efficient Workflow Management with Excellent AI Integration
What do you like best about the product?
I use Notion throughout the organization to store images, creatives, and other things while maintaining workflows and ensuring everyone is aligned with deadlines. Notion solves the big issue of maintaining everything on one base while efficiently managing workflows. I love that multiple people can collaborate in the same space and store various files while accessing automation at the same time. Hands down, the user experience is great, and I find the most efficient part how effectively they have integrated AI. Notion makes finding files easy with its AI software and serves as a one-stop shop for tools, reducing the number of apps we need.
What do you dislike about the product?
I think it can be quite overwhelming at the beginning. A more effective introduction would be really helpful. The initial setup was a difficult part and they definitely need more introduction.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I use Notion for storing images and creatives, maintaining workflows, and ensuring team alignment. It solves the problem of managing everything on a single platform, enabling efficient collaboration and automation. It also simplifies finding files and reduces the number of apps needed.
Simplifies Note-Taking with Minimalistic Design
What do you like best about the product?
I love Notion's simple and minimalistic design, which makes it easier to use compared to other notetaking apps I've tried. The AI features are another highlight for me, especially the templates, as they save me from losing hours designing a simple document. These templates are easy to find, easy to use, and delight to see, so much so that everyone wants to use them. Sharing published pages is a breeze, thanks to how straightforward and attractive the URLs are. Setting up Notion was extremely easy, and I highly recommend it.
What do you dislike about the product?
I am concerned about their use of personal data policy
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I use Notion for planning, note-taking, and task organization. It solves on-the-go organization issues as I no longer need a notebook. The simple, minimalistic design and templates save me time and make document sharing easy and visually appealing.
The Go-To Tool for Organized Event Planning
What do you like best about the product?
I like that Notion provides one place where I can have every piece of information organized. I can include photos, share with my teammates, and add comments about events, which is super helpful. I also appreciate being able to add tasks and different pages, allowing my teammates to organize themselves based on priority and date. I find it really useful that I can add an event with photos, comments, and all the details, and the event will automatically be organized by dates. The initial setup was easy, which made getting started with my team smooth. I switched from Google Sheets because Notion is more automated.
What do you dislike about the product?
I don't like that when I link a sheet from Drive to Notion, the format changes. It would be better if it kept the same format. Also, I want to add and delete multiple photos at the same time.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Notion organizes all my information in one place, including photos, and allows team sharing and comments. I can add tasks and manage events with automatic date organization, transitioning from Google Sheets for better automation.
Effortless Organization with Flexibility
What do you like best about the product?
I mainly use Notion for maintaining my to-do tasks, study notes, code snippets, and as a notepad. The feature I appreciate the most about Notion is its templates, which are really well organized, making it easier for me to not have to manually organize my notes, snippets, and other stuff. I love how I can save my data in multiple formats, like making tables or nested pages and creating multiple views to organize my media neatly. The ability to add entire databases, media, PDFs, embedded links, charts, forms, and import different types of files into my pages is excellent. I also enjoy Notion's clean interface and ease of use, which makes organizing information feel effortless. The flexibility to customize pages and workflows exactly how I want is a huge advantage, and I love the fact it works really well on my phone.
What do you dislike about the product?
One downside of Notion is that it can sometimes feel slow, especially with large or complex pages. Also, the learning curve can be a bit steep when trying to fully utilize the advanced features like databases and relations. Notion could be improved with better performance on large pages and a simpler learning curve for advanced features.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I use Notion to avoid manual organization with its well-organized templates and versatile formats, saving time and effort.
Team Notion a great reference
What do you like best about the product?
I like that we can update each page and tag someone if a page needs attention. Its a great reference tool.
What do you dislike about the product?
It can be overwhelming if you are new to Notion. All of the pages. And sometimes the pages are not up to date.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Any question I may have I use this as a reference. Usually it solves issues that I’m not familiar with.
Organizing personal life and client projects has become smoother and collaboration is more efficient
What is our primary use case?
I use Notion for both personal and professional purposes. Personally, I manage my daily life and professionally I manage my projects. In the professional sphere, I gather all the client information in Notion along with the phases of each project in order to assign next steps to the participants of the specific project.
How has it helped my organization?
There has been an increase in productivity since I started using Notion. Since Notion is an easy-to-use tool, it is easier for teams to use it and move forward more quickly with pending work. I have improved in efficiency since I started using Notion.
What is most valuable?
I consider the best features that Notion offers to be the variety of things that can be done, especially with the databases. I think they are very useful for relating concepts in the workspace.
Regarding the databases, I appreciate them because you can transform the databases into different views. You can have the same information in tables, in lists, in boards, which is quite visual and helps to better organize a project.
I also value that you can share different Notion pages with different people and with different permissions, which is useful when one part of the team is focused on one part of the project or when clients only see the pages that are designated for them.
What needs improvement?
I think Notion is now overcomplicating things, as there are too many features and for a user who starts from scratch, it can be difficult to learn everything. I give it an eight in particular because I think it is a very useful tool, but as I mentioned before, it can be complicated when someone starts from scratch using the tool.
For how long have I used the solution?
I have been working in my sector for four years.
What do I think about the stability of the solution?
I consider Notion to be a stable platform.
What do I think about the scalability of the solution?
I think Notion has good scalability and adapts well to the growth of the team or projects.
Which solution did I use previously and why did I switch?
Before using Notion, I used several tools that help with project management, such as Jira, and I use them in addition to Notion.
How was the initial setup?
The initial implementation of Notion in my team was quite easy because I have been using Notion for two years now. At the beginning it was simpler than it is now.
What about the implementation team?
I manage the training of new team members by having a call and providing a guide on how to use Notion inside Notion itself.
What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing?
My experience with the price, setup cost, and licensing of Notion has been normal, and I have nothing to comment.
What other advice do I have?
Notion helps me both to make my work easier and organize my day-to-day tasks, and to distinguish the tasks for each project and assign them to the corresponding team. I would advise other people who are considering implementing Notion to start little by little with basic things and to use it a lot because the more you use it is when you learn the most. I rate this product an eight out of ten.
