Excellent Academic Support and Hands-On CAT Tool Experience
What do you like best about the product?
Academic support from Phrase is a great chance for translation studies students. Thanks to Phrase, our students can gain experience with CAT tools.
What do you dislike about the product?
Nothing to complain about. They respond very quickly, and they have many solutions for everyone.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
CAT tools are generally expensive to use. Alternative CAT tools also don’t really provide the kind of academic support students need, even though the Phrase team has already considered positioning this solution as a form of academic support.
Clear, Accessible Layout Makes the Platform Easy to Use
What do you like best about the product?
The website offers a clear, accesible layout, which makes it pleasurable to work with. It has great shortcuts for adding/deleting tags in the CAT editor. The pre-translate option is great as well.
What do you dislike about the product?
Spanish translation of the platform has several mistakes. Also, there are some options or elements that aren't even translated. It is quite distracting. The LQA option is rather uncomfortable to use, and the ortography mistakes that the tool spots in languages that are not English are sometimes incorrect, or sometimes not even recognized.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Phrase is helping our organization to have a clearer wordcount for each file we deliver. It also enables another path of communication with our freelance translators and shows useful information for them, which prevents our team from sending lots of inquiries via email.
Sophisticated but unstable
What do you like best about the product?
Very advanced automation features, specifically the APC that lets me connect to the FTP server and scans it periodically which saves a hours every day when creating projects, analyses and delivery.
What do you dislike about the product?
The platform is not very stable - there are various features that periodically stop working, for example the "Quotes" tab in Phrase analytics, there are notification blackouts several times a year, new features and UI updates are sometimes added without being mentioned in Release notes and so on.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We saved a lot of time not having to create projects manually each time.
Intuitive Interface and Streamlined Workflows
What do you like best about the product?
Very intuitive interface and streamlined workflows
What do you dislike about the product?
Prompting within the AI functionalities still isn’t fully in place.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
All-in-one place for localisation purposes for the company
Intuitive and Time-Saving for Translation Agencies
What do you like best about the product?
I like that the Phrase Localization Platform is intuitive to use both for me and our translators. It's valuable because it minimizes friction and ensures that translators aren't discouraged by a poor design. For me, it's easy to learn and makes onboarding new team members quick. I appreciate that it's cloud-based and offers workflow automation, like passing projects from translator to editor, saving us manual work. There are no limits on the number of translators, which means we aren't restricted by the number of licenses as with Trados or memoQ. The initial setup was super easy.
What do you dislike about the product?
There's no way to 'preview' how a file is processed before sending it to the platform, which uses the word count volume allocated to our account. This is especially tricky with more complex files, like Shopify CSV exports or JSON files. With large volumes, this can quickly mean the allocated word count is gone without us doing a single project. We're also missing some QC features, like ignoring segments that are the same as the source when that is the exact content of a TB entry.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
It saves us time with cloud-based workflow automation, eliminating manual project transfers. It also supports translators without CAT tools.
Streamlines Localization with Unified Workflow
What do you like best about the product?
I like how the Phrase Localization Platform brings everyone involved in localization into a smooth workflow. It really stands out in how it removes a lot of the friction that usually comes with localization. Instead of having developers, project managers, and translators working in separate tools and passing files back and forth, everyone works in the same platform with clear roles and visibility. I also appreciate how we could decide to import things gradually, and that transition was smooth.
What do you dislike about the product?
Some workflows around bulk actions can require a lot of clicks, that could be simplified.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Phrase Localization Platform streamlines our localization workflow, reducing errors and time consumption. It unifies developers, PMs, and translators in one platform, eliminating friction and enhancing visibility.
Straightforward Job Portal with a Seamless CAT Tool Transition
What do you like best about the product?
Receiving and delivering jobs through the portal is a very straightforward process, and the transition into the CAT tool is seamless. The interface is also visually appealing, clean, and easy on the eyes, which makes the overall experience pleasant and simple to navigate.
What do you dislike about the product?
I can’t point to anything specific that I disliked, and I didn’t run into any major or core issues while using it.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Phrase Localization Platform helps address the complexity of managing localization projects by bringing workflows, assets, and communication together in one place. It streamlines job assignment, file handling, and CAT tool integration, reducing manual effort and lowering the risk of errors. As a result, I can manage projects more efficiently, keep consistency across languages, and spend more time on quality, timelines, and stakeholder coordination instead of day-to-day operational overhead.
Very easy to use
What do you like best about the product?
I really enjoy using the translation changes feature because it lets me see the edits I’ve made to the automated MT solution. Also, if a revisor doesn’t send feedback about a translation, I can still review everything that was changed by using this feature.
What do you dislike about the product?
I wouldn’t say that I dislike anything about it. Of all the CAT tools my university has told me about, this is the one I like the most, mainly because it’s so easy to use.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I appreciate that I can access my account through the web. This means I can use the tool on any device, whereas other tools are only accessed through a desktop app.
Easy Setup, but Unhelpful Support and File/Segmentation Issues
What do you like best about the product?
Easy to use from a project setup, and organization of platform is easy to find translation requests
What do you dislike about the product?
Customer support is not helpful, multiple times we have ran into issues with either segmentation or particular file types not working, and they have not help resolve it.
Phrase Orchestrator is interesting but doesn't seem ready to be fully used
Phrase Orchestrator is interesting but doesn't seem ready to be fully used
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Solves using MTPE as a workflow, but doesn't solve any file type issues
Translation efficiency improvement, but there is an issue of original text loss.
What do you like best about the product?
It's useful for translating large volumes. After translating into the target language, there's no need for separate document editing. I really like that when exporting after translation, it follows the original document's formatting exactly. It's also great that when translating tables or diagrams, you can check in the preview if the target text fits well into shapes, etc. It's convenient to be able to adjust the text appropriately while checking the status through the preview.
What do you dislike about the product?
There was an issue where some text was lost in the document containing diagrams. Therefore, I had to check every time to ensure that no translation content was missing. Also, it would be nice to have a feature to hide tags that often get in the way in the editor. The menu had many options like TMS, Strings, Orchestrator, which was a bit confusing.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
It is useful for translating large volumes and requires no document editing after translation. When exporting after translation, it follows the original document's formatting exactly. When translating tables or diagrams, you can easily check and adjust the text position through a preview.
