Confluence is a great tool!
What do you like best about the product?
I love the flexibility of the tool. It can be used by various different internal stakeholders to share information with one another. I can best describe it as an internal blog.
What do you dislike about the product?
It can be sometimes hard to track down specific materials. However, this could be the way that my company uses it.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Its used for shared knowledge & keeping track of business requirements & asking questions to our R&D team.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Definitely do your research & plan ahead of time how you want to use it. It can be a great tool when being properly maintained. But if you have "too many cooks in the kitchen" then things can get out of hand. Training is key to getting other users onboarded on best practices on how to use confluence to best suit their needs.
Good for keeping records and collaborating with notifications
What do you like best about the product?
Confluence has an interface that makes leaving comments and receiving notifications very reliable. For instance, you can both comment on a page / document that's made, or highlight specific text to leave in-text comments. Notifications are also reliable for people to receive in their emails, about any changes or new pages created.
What do you dislike about the product?
Confluence's design is flat in a way that makes it difficult to understand how subsections of pages link together. They do have a branch / directory / table of contents view of nested pages, but you mileage may vary depending on how you like this way of organizing pages. If you find it hard to use like me, I rely a lot on the search function, which is okay, but needs better filters if you're searching with words that result in lots of results.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Documenting meeting notes and other ideas, and sharing documents. Confluence is nice for sending notifications of edits to a page people are collaborating on.
Confluence, good documentation tool
What do you like best about the product?
availavility from anywhere, anybody. Access management for different section and different people.
What do you dislike about the product?
few typography, numbered lists are difficult to create, should be compatible to import more types of formats, like vision, etc.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
management access for different people, departments, clients, partners..
Recommendations to others considering the product:
besto online documentation tool for management level or section access
Great tool for any IT environment
What do you like best about the product?
Confluence is relatively easy to use, although the latest UX updates might’ve been a step backwards. As an IT organization that needs a seamless way to communicate and document requests, where each department using the product has a different level of technical expertise, we have found Confluence is a great tool. For user’s who have very little technical knowledge, the functionality allows the product to be used like a traditional office productivity product such as Outlook or Word. For user’s with more technical expertise, they can use either the built in macros or the markup language functionality to create more robust pages.
What do you dislike about the product?
Our complaints would be minimal and primarily focused around the latest redesign. Other than that the only thing we have noticed missing is the inability to create a true form that would allow submissions.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Confluence is being used as the tool with which our Client Services group communicates client requests to the Technical Managers. Our Technical Managers then review the requirements with the Client Services team and create project User Stories. These User Stories are then discussed between the Technical Manager and the Developers and any questions, concerns etc. are addressed and the level of effort is assigned. Once the requirements are finalized and agreed upon between all groups (Client, Client Services, Tech Manager, Developer) Test Cases are created and any important information (ex. API endpoints, login credentials, etc.) are documented.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Confluence is a great tool and integrates well with JIRA. The only caveat our organization would give is that as great of a tool as JIRA is, the initial setup needs to be thought through carefully. Setting up roles, permissions, workflows, etc. can become problematic if not addressed initially.
Useful Content Collaboration Platform
What do you like best about the product?
Confluence allows for quick and easy document creation to track project tasks and other important company information. Its search functionality is really helpful since the amount of content housed on the platform can be overwhelming. It also plays nicely with other Atlassian products, such as JIRA. And it has tagging capability, so you can alert specific individuals of an assigned project task or resource.
What do you dislike about the product?
It's hard to keep track of all content in Confluence. There are ways to stay organized with parent and child pages, but the sheer volume of content housed on the platform can make it hard to find what you need.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We use Confluence as our main content collaboration hub. Important company information and resources are housed there, along with specific project plans and timelines.
Great tool for knowledge share
What do you like best about the product?
Notifications that document has been updated.
What do you dislike about the product?
Easy to create disorganization and out of date pages.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Documentation for cross functional teams. We’ve realized a lot of config information and knowledge transfer.

Good capability of importing documents from other file types and creating ready to edit document in confluence
What do you dislike about the product?
It Tends to require a lot of add-ons for specific use cases
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We used this tool as a documentary of our project

Does Exactly What You Need It To Do
What do you like best about the product?

What do you dislike about the product?
The UI could use an update or a refresh, but it loads fast and is easy to navigate.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Sharing documentation company-wide.
Serves its purpose of a centralized company wiki
What do you like best about the product?
I like that there's a central location for documentation
What do you dislike about the product?
Search! The search is pretty awful - it doesn't pull up all relevant articles and those that are relevant might not be timely.
