Communication and collaboration in the cloud
What do you like best about the product?
Collaboration, user interface, security.
What do you dislike about the product?
Formatting can be time consuming. Getting multiple users to follow same standards and format is difficult.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Centeralizing doxumentsrion. Specifically business requirements and service interface specification documents. Updated frequently by a handful of users. Viewed by large team.
Lots of power and potential
What do you like best about the product?
The great amount of flexibility and robustness in the system provides users with nearly endless opportunity to create content.
What do you dislike about the product?
It's just really hard to get started with any real structure or vision. The amount of time required to get a solid setup is something our team simply hasn't had in most cases.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Unification/centralization of project-/team-/company-wide information.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
make sure you have the resources in place to get it off the ground. once pathways are created for your team it will be much easier to use it for that _predefined_ workflow.

A Product I have Confluence In
What do you like best about the product?
It's good at what it does. Confluence serves as a wiki for most of the technical stuff in my use case; there isn't quite another alternative that we would use.
What do you dislike about the product?
The design is a bit outdated—it could use a makeover to fit modern trends! But this is not a big deal.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Confluence primarily provides the benefit of storing knowledge about all the different parts of the application that we work on. The application, in particular, has been around for several years and so it is quite complex (complex enough that there are hundreds of confluence pages for it)!
I've definitely realized the benefit of it, as it's helped me understand some obscure parts of the application. In addition, Confluence lets one easily document things like best practices and speed records.

Recommendations to others considering the product:
Confluence is part of the Atlassian suite, so if you are using other Atlassian tools, why not add this into the mix?
Great for mantianing documentation and linking to JIRA
What do you like best about the product?
I love that I can link project documentation to JIRA tickets.,
What do you dislike about the product?
I wish there was an opportunity to manage version control in confluence. It would aleviate the need for ducmuent repository.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We keep track of current project documentation, as it relates to tickets. This allows us to pull in documentation to our projects more easily.
Great way to work on collaborative projects with a team
What do you like best about the product?
The ability to keep track of group projects, and hold accountability to individual team members is by far the best aspect of this program. It also tracks older versions of documents, which makes working on new work straightforward. The contact management is much better than a traditional email server.
What do you dislike about the product?
The connection to Jira at times can be tricky to enable. While my company that I worked at did not disclose pricing, I am under the impression it was costly as well.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Sharing documents, working on documents while tracking older versions, the security functions of the software, group collaboration.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
I highly recommend using this software for anyone working on projects in a group setting. It is straightforward to collaborate in groups and track old documents for management. Contact management is also ideal.
Good place for notes
What do you like best about the product?
Easy to add notes and collaborate on docs. Good templates for requirements, etc.
What do you dislike about the product?
Hard to get users to look at Confluence if JIRA is also in use.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Documenting research, sharing knowledge and findings.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Good for knowledge transfer and sharing but similar to Google docs in that regard
Great tool to share information on
What do you like best about the product?
Confluence is great for sharing information, documenting decisions, sharing task-lists, etc.
What do you dislike about the product?
It's table structure and rich text formatting lacks in some areas.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Confluence really helps your team plan and be on the same page. My team is able to reference one location for updates regarding a topic.
Everything in one place
What do you like best about the product?
The ability the relate released tracked in JIRA to legible text and reports in Confluence
What do you dislike about the product?
No real organization in the product. No real tracking to catch outdated content.

We use Wiki confluence to communicate processes as well as progress on trackable tickets and projects.
