It has great tools and abilities but falls short for holding knowledge.

What do you like best about the product?
It has awesome tools to organize and best use your pages. You can create teams and tag people and create blocks and everything to really keep your organizations information in an easy digestible manner. It also allows for comments and it allows you let your users know when there have been changes made which can be really nice and helpful so that you don't have to go chasing everybody down to know the information. Being able to favorite things is also helpful.
What do you dislike about the product?
It doesn't have a review feature and so information can go stale and be outdated. It can be hard to have buy in from an entire organization and therefore lead to bad hierarchy and structure, which leads it to become really difficult to find the information you're looking for. Any person with a certain level of access can also create their own directories and so again if there isn't high level structure that is agreed upon from the top->down then it can get messy and cluttered.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
With confluence, we were trying to get all of our teams knowledge and information into a central repository. It proved beneficial as a start so that there wasn't individual knowledge missing but we had a collective group and collective input, unfortunately, it also didn't 100% succeed due to some missing accountability features.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
If you're looking for somewhere to throw your knowledge without holding anybody accountable to maintaining the knowledge or if its evergreen knowledge that won't change often, then this is a great place to put it. Unfortunately, they seem to lack really making their software hold teams accountable which, as every knowledge manager knows, if the key to have a successful implementation and a high adoption rate.

Amazing and Powerful Knowledge Base System

What do you like best about the product?
Confluence allows organizations to make robust and searchable knowledge bases in an easy to use and simple format. The articles are available and are easy to share across teams/organizational units. I love the ease of use and the professional articles that can be created easily with this platform. Furthermore I love the security built into this software. It is fairly straightforward to create new "spaces" for different teams and groups within the organization to share ideas, information and how-to-articles amongst team members and other teams. Overall a solid knowledge base, cloud-based solution.
What do you dislike about the product?
The downsides to Confluence are not many. The only one I can think of is that two people cannot be working on the same article at the same time.
Otherwise this platform works smoothly and exceeds all expectations.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
My organization has resolved numerous problems with Confluence. We use it to disseminate information throughout the organization, create how-to articles and troubleshooting guides. Confluence has been invaluable in training new and existing employees in the ever rapidly changing work environment brought on by the Covid-19 pandemic.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Confluence is a simple to use knowledge base solution that I would recommend to anyone! Jira has a suite of solutions that integrate perfectly with Confluence and make service desk roles more efficient and proficient. I would strongly recommend this software solution to any organization that is in need of a secure and centralized knowledge base.

What do you like best about the product?
The text editing feature is quite good, so is the embedding for external content like ppt, etc.
What do you dislike about the product?
Not enough controls like word online when it comes to font, etc.
Permissions on a page can be controlled by parent page, but the appropriate permissions are not visible on the current page.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
ease of sharing, ease of controlling access, etc.

Great Documentation Service

What do you like best about the product?
Confluence is online documentation tool and have fair features specially when we want to embed it into some application. We can insert tables and format them easily. It has strong searching mechanism to search the documents and text inside the documents. We can easily tag and collaborate with colleagues over confluence and comment on the documents. Confluence offers strong mechanism of versioning the documents. Text formatting options are sufficient enough. It has advantage that its integrated with JIRA project management system.
What do you dislike about the product?
Interface is too much plain and raw if you compare with Microsoft Office Word and features are far less. Its hard to maintain the categories as per my personal experience. Its hard to shift one user id to a new one in case some user id is changed since we faced many issues.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We are managing our Solutions and Projects documentation over Confluence and link them to keep track of the projects. We have created user manuals of our systems in Confluence and linked with our systems. Confluence is our central repository right now for IT projects and products. We have around 200 users of Confluence.

What do you like best about the product?
Confluence best thing is it's wide variety of features over SharePoint which makes it more interesting to work.

I like most the feature of creating our own page with embedded images,docs,links and third party sites which makes anything complete and easily accessible from one place
What do you dislike about the product?
Not user friendly. Documentation is needed to understand clearly or visual directions on site.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Version control able to achieve since it maintains history and also watching features allow whole team to send notification if anything related to your project changes

What do you like best about the product?
The system is not difficult for non-superusers to navigate. Work spaces are fairly easy to create and maintain. Great tool for collaboration and tracking notes and action items.
What do you dislike about the product?
Nothing to note in particular as a dislike but maybe improving the aesthetic of the notification emails (i.e when you are tagged in notes, the emails are bland). It would be nice to have a "digest" attached to the email or included on the body.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Information sharing among groups or departments and tracking meeting notes. It's definitely a time-saver and offers more collaboration than email. When having standing meetings, this helps track all action items, agendas, notes, etc. in one space for all participants to access. Great tool for project managers for sure.

What do you like best about the product?
Confluence has a friendly edit interface, somewhat limited but still allowing flexibility when adding or revising content. Our enterprise uses it for dev groups and all kinds of knowledge management.
What do you dislike about the product?
Our version, which is not a cloud version, can be slow and cranky at times. Our admins might be lazy and not keep the upgrades current as they should? Some features require add ons which are difficult to get pushed through the admins. The ability to edit source HTML easily would be a huge improvement.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
It is an effective platform for sharing knowledge across the enterprise. It is easy to train anyone on how to create and edit content. There are some nice formatting options available and additionally lots of macros that help.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Confluence is a very workable solution for knowledge management. I have not really looked at other options personally.

What do you like best about the product?
How quickly you can get a page up and running, and how easy it is to limit audience and update content
What do you dislike about the product?
Inability to implement simple html code like “open tab on click” type of functions and linking to other content like sharepoint
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
A way to quickly get information posted that did not go through our formal quality management system.

What do you like best about the product?
I love the structure and layout for writing and modifying articles/how-to’s. This product makes documentation much more palatable for both the writer and the reader
What do you dislike about the product?
There is a slight learning curve that has probably since been addressed through some on boarding guides now but initially when I used Confluence I had some Googling to learn different options for formatting
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
This product has made it extremely easy to write technical documents for IT support. It can easily become your go to Wiki/knowledge base for any tech company
Recommendations to others considering the product:
If you want to give your IT Support team a product that will get well designed and navigable documentation out to your company, Confluence is the way to go!

Great tool to keep your platform documented

What do you like best about the product?
It´s very easy to use so, final users can be easily introduced into the tool so they can add information without additional assistance.
What do you dislike about the product?
In large installations, it could run slow if not properly configured. The administrator needs to put some time into the java fine tuning to avoid problems. This applies to "server" version.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I use it as knowledge base for internal and external customers, is linked to Jira Service Desk so, the support web form is autocompleted with information from this knowledge base. It could take a lot of time and effort you to program such feature by yourself.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Before buying the solution, evaluate the possibility os go directly t the CLOUD version, this way, you will be able to skip the installation ans maintenance implied in the SERVER version. This is specially useful when your IT team is small.
