Value of Team Collaboration for Password Management

  • March 05, 2019
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
- Sharing and collaboration are key advantages to their solution while security is still a top priority. Any folder can be easily shared or unshared. Folders can be shared with team members and even a guest.

- Flexibility in managing access to vaults. I can create vaults that are by default accessible by other administrators. Thus, I can give my twin brother (an administrator) immediate access when creating the vault. It is just as easy to uncheck the box to give other administrators access which turns the vault into a private one that I only have access to.

- Managing user access for team members is easy and intuitive. Once the vault is created, you can click on the settings for the vault from the main dashboard and add team members to have access. Once access is granted to a vault, the team member gets immediate access. Team members don’t need to wait around for changes to propagate to their user’s access.

- Editing and using login credential from the website is really easy. I enjoy how you can copy the pass with it being kept secret. Only when necessary, you can easily click a button to reveal the password. This makes it easier to collaborate with team members present while not compromising security.
What do you dislike about the product?
- If you have a guest user, they can only have access to one vault. It doesn’t say this in the interface, but after a few times of trying to give a guest user access to a second vault and 1pass changing the access to the new vault only and removing access from the old one, I am pretty confident this is the intended functionality that isn’t apparent within their UI.

- Unable to move an item from one vault to another. Instead, if you want to item an item from one vault to another, you need to create a new duplicate item in the new vault and then delete the old one.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
My twin brother and I are entrepreneurs and have a venture studio. We partner with startup companies and help them build their businesses. Accordingly, we needed a solution where sharing of login credentials and secret notes worked smoothly with robust flexibility for managing user access. After using competing solutions, we realized team collaboration was not a core value of the other solutions. Fortunately, we discovered 1password and all of our desires have been fulfilled.

While my brother and I both our own private login credentials for various services, a vast majority of logins credentials are shared. We soon realized that sharing login credentials with our team members was a fundamental way we operated. 1password provides the best and most secure solution for sharing passwords with team members.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
While the annual pricing model is annoying, sharing is built into the core of their solution and worth the annual subscription.

Forget About Remembering Passwords

  • February 25, 2019
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
1Password makes it super easy to keep track of your personal passwords for all the websites you use or even those passwords that are shared by an entire company. Their safe and secure system ensures passwords can be shared with a group without compromising your privacy.
What do you dislike about the product?
If you want to log in to 1Password from a computer other than the one where you established your account, this can get tricky if you're not prepared. It's part of its safety functions, so be sure you have your emergency login info saved on a USB or on another computer to make this easier.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Keeping track of passwords is much easier and keeping this sensitive information safe makes it an even better product.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
The most important recommendation would be to keep the emergency login information safe and on a USB or some other type of device just in case you need to log in to your account from a computer that isn't your primary one. Another recommendation is to download the 1Password Chrome extension to make logging in to commonly used accounts even easier.

Very comfortable password manager

  • February 18, 2019
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
This program is able to operate the password generator perfectly, adapting them to the requirements of websites. Apart from the fact that it is convenient, 1password is extremely safe. It also has the ability to audit our secret data. The program checks how long ago I changed my password. Information about the security breach is also monitored, so that I will be able to keep up to date in case my login parameters have leaked and whether they should be updated.

What is important, the program also offers a lot of tools that further increase security, including the function of analyzing the strength of the password and the website to which Ilog in (in terms of potential gaps). This software can also, for example, let the user know that a defect has been detected on the site he is logging into, and that it is recommended to change the password.

In 1 password we can also create "Safes" containing data related to specific tasks, such as work or entertainment. From the side panel, I can easily switch between the safes.I can also organize my data instantly, using the drag-and-drop method.
What do you dislike about the product?
Not gonna lie, 1password is quite expensive compared to other password managers.
Nevertheless, I think that it is worth paying the price for comfort and safety.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I've been using 1password only for a week but I love it already. I had no idea how comfortable it is to manage your passwords like this, not to mention security (It was not really safe for me, since i had like 2-3 passwords to all pages before). This software remembers and automatically enters my passwords to web sites and applications on all devices - the only thing I need to worry about is creating and remembering one solid, main password. What's even better - I don't even need this password in the mobile app - my fingerprint lines are enough.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
1password is an application that offers to be our safe on all sorts of logins, passwords and other private information. Encryption, blocking access with a password and with a fingerprint, help in generating codes of varying length and complexity of our passwords. It's all there. What's more? Easy backup and synchronization with popular clouds. Security, convenience and a multiplatform tool that I can heartily recommend to everyone.

Forget about forget password link

  • February 18, 2019
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
I have started using 1password 4 years ago and this was the only password reminder that has saved me a lot of time saving and filling passwords. Mostly in online banking, we must use more secured/stronger passwords which are easily forgettable because of that we tend to write it down somewhere. But the tedious task is to type them back when login where there are banks do not allow copy paste in login/transaction pages. But with 1password this is so much easier...
What do you dislike about the product?
Only issue I had was whenever browsers get updated the extensions were not working as expected. But now they have rectified it with the new 1password 7.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Using 1password is more secure
Time saving
Easy
and never have to use "forget password" option in any system.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Go ahead and buy either subscription or standalone. I think if you are not into much devices only windows I suppose the standalone is worth.

1Password for password management

  • December 15, 2018
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
I like the program 1Password I like the fact that I can use the program on iOS - iPhone and on Windows - PC.

I also like the fact that I can use the extension for Google Chrome. It is very convenient.

I also like the fact that I can store documents in 1Password.

I keep in 1Password copies of my documents: passport, id, photos of credit cards.
What do you dislike about the product?
I do not like the fact that when saving passwords via Google Chome, 1Password saves a lot of unnecessary information to my safe. I would like 1Password to save only the login and password.

I also do not like the fact that in order to view a saved photo, I need to first save it to my computer in a public folder.

I also do not like the fact that 1Password cannot change passwords on websites. For example, I wanted 1Password to change the password for Google Mail every six months and save the password to my safe.

I also don’t like the fact that I can’t use Windows Hello to log in to 1Password.

I also do not like the fact that in the safe there is no separation into important and non-important passwords. Such an option would speed up the opening of the password list.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I use 1Password to store passwords, documents, and files.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
I can recommend using 1Password, since there are no serious bugs in the program.

1Password to the rescue!

  • November 02, 2018
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
What I like the most about 1Password is how easy it is to set up and share with my co - workers and my family as well.
What do you dislike about the product?
What I dislike about this product is that, the plans are pretty expensive when you start using the business plans,
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We had a lot of accounts including, social media, bank accounts and other login information / passwords for our organization and for the programs that we offer, we were trying to find a way so if we bring another person to the team, they will be able to have given access rather than having that valuable information typed in Notion.so since it's unsafe. With 1Password, we were able to share specific information through vaults, were we can share only social media accounts, wifi passwords, and other useful info like building numbers too.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Since it's cross platform, you are able to use 1Password within your Apple devices such as; Macbooks, iMac's, iPhone, iPad, Apple Watch as well as Windows, Android, on the chrome browser and even online!

Usually reliable and useful

  • October 24, 2018
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
When it's working as expected, 1Password is fantastic. There's a great add-on so you can auto-fill your passwords into sites.
What do you dislike about the product?
We often encountered problems with our 1Password account syncing to all of the computers. When someone would leave the company, our admin would have to change all our access passwords, so whenever these would not auto-sync to the account, there were numerous problems with accessing services.
It's also quite a hard process to set up. After leaving my last company, I tried to set it up at my new company and it was so complicated that I gave up after a couple of hours.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We are managing to keep our digital accounts secure. In the past, there has been sharing of passwords on slack, email, on paper, in all kinds of ways, and it's not scalable.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
As long as you have a dedicated person managing 1Password then everything should be fine. As a user, rather than an admin, I liked that I had someone to talk to when it was regularly breaking for me. I would have long given up on it if we had not had a point person.
As a large company, the price is reasonable, but for a solo person or tiny startup, the price is quite considerable.

A decent option for cross-OS password support

  • August 01, 2018
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
I have used 1Password for both personal use and professional use. From a professional standpoint, I enjoyed having the ability to have passwords accessible to everyone on my team through shared folders. From a personal standpoint, I am fairly
"tech-agnostic" and use a bunch of different operating systems across all my devices. 1Password gives me a way to have all of my passwords synced on all of my competing devices.

I also like the seamlessness of its integration with iOS. 1Pass is easy to pull up in web forms.
What do you dislike about the product?
It's a bit clunky when moving passwords from one place to another. I often have to just create a new entry. The UI hasn't been upgraded a whole ton over the course of its history, but it's still nice.

I have concerns about its security just from past events. Overall I try to use something different than 1Password, but it is a good option. I think if you're looking for something thats established, looks/works decent, has cross-platform functionality, and enterprise support, then you'd be happy with 1Password.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I originally used 1Password at a small company and it helped them keep track of logins and no longer have an excuse to write them down insecurely or keep them in their apple keychain. It was the most affordable option at a couple different organizations I have worked for.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Take time to get all of your passwords entered initially so you don't have to keep going back, one-at-a-time

Been Using This For Years

  • July 30, 2018
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
The Security options are brilliant. It can make it a little hard to get into but it makes it very hard for someone to hack. You get given an encryption key that you have to enter in when you first login. I also like the Watchtower function that keeps you up to date on sites that have been hacked and which passwords you need to change. It's UI is very easy to learn and use.
What do you dislike about the product?
Its programs and a little sluggish on older macs. I use them on 2010 & 2011 Mac Mini's along with my 2015 Mac Book air and on the air it runs great but the older mini's struggle a bit. Also it's a little pricy for my business but still work using.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We needed to share passwords across multiple computers and multiple users. 1Password has allowed us to fix this. It also sets up multiple Vaults or password storage so we can give accounting passwords to the accounting people and not the marketing people.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
We recently looked at switching to Last Pass as they are slightly cheaper, but as we are mainly mac users and 1Password is originally a mac product and we are already established on it it didn't seem worth switching. I would suggest looking into the features of this verses others and work out which features you need. It integrates very different into the browser which is helpful so instead of living in the password field it is accessible via a browser button which is helpful for us.
