Great product, needs more capabilities
What do you like best about the product?
This software does a great job of what it sets out to do. It allows you to schedule your social media quickly, and not spend all day on it. It also allows you to look through your calendars of posts, see fans interacting with your accounts, and even interact without actually going to the social media itself.
What do you dislike about the product?
Once, I had an entire several weeks worth of social media disappear from Facebook, and it was basically resolved by logging in and logging back out. This is an insane amount of lost productivity and it took me reaching out to Hootsuite to even realize it was a problem. They should have preemptively warned me about this.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Hootsuite allows me, as one person, to manage every social media account for a television show from one place. My job's number of responsibilities would be totally impossible without software like this, so I am very thankful that Hootsuite lets me schedule in advance, and most of the time have confidence that my social media is running well.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Hootsuite is a great tool in general, but you'll always run into some issues. Sometimes it bugs out for a day here or there, and there are a few features on each platform that it's lacking. For instance, Twitter polls, Facebook distribution settings for videos, etc.
Excellent platform for managing social accounts
What do you like best about the product?
One place to schedule and track all social media posts.
What do you dislike about the product?
A little complicated to set up at first... just time consuming really. Not sure what you can do about that!
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Multiple social accounts that often fall into neglect because of time constraints.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
This is a great resource for staying on top of your social calendar and will ease the burden of daily posting.
Good for Social Listening, Not as Good for Day-To-Day
What do you like best about the product?
They've got a great social listening program in Insights. You can track a ton of keywords to find relevant conversations and connect with people well. Plus, they've got great account managers who really listen to your concerns and keep you updated on new products.
What do you dislike about the product?
This is completely personal preference, but I do not like the layout of HootSuite. It seems confusing and overwhelming to my mind. It's tough for me to go through the feeds and focus on what's there. I only used this product because it was mandatory.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Social listening was the biggest business problem we used Hootsuite to solve. It made such a huge difference in the ease of finding relevant conversations.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
If HootSuite's layout is not an issue for you, then this product can be extremely helpful. I think the company is very tuned into what clients need, and they're willing to hear criticism and to grow from it. I've been impressed by my interactions with the staff at HootSuite.
Great for media management
What do you like best about the product?
This program made it easy to manage my followers and schedule posts
What do you dislike about the product?
Many of the features aren't unlocked until after you pay monthly
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I was able to grow my customer base with this app
Easy to monitor streams, URL generator a bit clunky
What do you like best about the product?
Option to require an approver & view calendar.
What do you dislike about the product?
The integration with LinkedIn is lacking.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
The ability to schedule social media in advance. We have increased cadence of posts.
Great Tool
What do you like best about the product?
Everything you need to run multiple social media accounts all in one place. Especially love the ability to schedule posts to Twitter, Facebook pages, and Instagram. The feeds are all chronological which is a big plus now that Twitter and Facebook force popular posts on you instead of chronological ones.
What do you dislike about the product?
A little bit of a learning curve and not all social media platforms work with it, but that is the individual platforms fault not Hootsuite's.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Scheduling posts so that time and energy isn't wasted everyday on social media and doing it all from one place allows us to see when and where each post is going at a glance.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
There is a free version that will allow you to give it a try or even continue to use it if you only have a few social media accounts. Give it a try. We use it for multiple accounts and social media platforms.
User Friendly
What do you like best about the product?
Hootsuite is very easy to use and fun. It enables me to keep my audience (students, alumni, families) up to date with events and activities at the school.
What do you dislike about the product?
The Re-share feature is no longer available from IG to Facebook.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I use Hootsuite to schedule posts while on breaks from school. It allows our students, families and alumni to keep up to date.
Great for managing multiple social media outlets
What do you like best about the product?
Hootsuite makes it easy to draft posts, set them up for a later date, and free up your time. You want your business to appear relevant and in the now, but you don't want to have to be there to post about something every single day. Drafting out your posts and dedicating one block of time a week/biweekly/monthly etc can help ensure a consistent image and save you lots of time! I love it for managing multiple pages and avenues as well.
What do you dislike about the product?
If you want to post on Instagram and utilize hashtags but DON'T want those hashtags on Facebook, there doesn't seem to be a way to use one picture and post different captions for different media sources but still posting at the same time. Seems to have to be set up twice. It's a small hassle and keeps me from utilizing the full functionality of the system. I also am a free user of this program, and I manage social media for multiple businesses so currently haven't found a way to get any of those businesses to take on the cost of the software. The jump from free to paying is pretty steep for what it's doing, in my opinion.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Maintaining relevant social presence without taking up too much personal time- also posting on Instagram from a computer is a nice bonus even when not drafting out, but just wanting to make a post
Easily manage your social media channels
What do you like best about the product?
It is easy to schedule out posts for my social media business accounts. I can add photos and shorten links for tracking. I do love how I can manage messages, mentions and hashtags right from the same page.
What do you dislike about the product?
I do have trouble integrating some Instagram accounts. It takes me many tries to get the accounts linked.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Definitely a time saver!
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Time saver!
Good Free Social Media Software
What do you like best about the product?
You can add up to three different social platforms and schedule posts in advance, eliminating the worry and manual labor that comes with posting. It is very easy to use and straight forward. The feed feature where it tracks mentions is also a plus, especially for a growing business like ours.
What do you dislike about the product?
I've heard some horror stories of going with the paid version - price and usability. Friends have told me it isn't worth the cost and that there are other better platforms out there. However, that is just "talk" and nothing I've confirmed myself. All in all, I'm enjoying the platform.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Scheduling social campaigns in advance - huge time saver!
Recommendations to others considering the product:
If you are just starting to rev up your social media and need something that will post and schedule in advance, this is a good platform. It is limited by video in the free version - something to consider when looking at paid vs free.
