What do you like best about the product?
Automox has made patching and endpoint management much easier for our team. The automation, visibility, and cross-platform support help us stay on top of updates with far less manual effort. The price has been extremely compelling as well.
What do you dislike about the product?
The biggest downside for us is that some of the reporting and analytics could be deeper, especially when trying to identify trends or prioritize remediation efforts across a large environment. The platform is effective for patching and endpoint management, but there is still room for improvement in the intelligence and automation recommendations it provides. The UI could use a little more refinement and integrations haven't been something we touched on at all, this may be more down to how we use the system but we have not found a lot of support for integrations.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Automox has helped us standardize patching and endpoint management across our endpoint devices while reducing the amount of manual work required from our team. The platform is fairly easy to navigate and gives us a centralized view of compliance and device health. The automation capabilities have saved significant administrative time and improved our ability to keep systems up to date and secure. Have had no issues with performance or outages throughout the years of using Automox.

What do you like best about the product?
I mainly use Automox for Windows patching, but it also handles some third-party tasks. What stands out to me is the ease of use and the dead simple UI. Automox is easier to set up and configure compared to Intune Autopatch, and the update schedules are straightforward and less ambiguous. The initial setup was rather easy, which is a big plus.
What do you dislike about the product?
Sometimes even when machines are online overnight and reboot to apply patches, the machine immediately asks for a reboot controlled by Automox to apply updates when a user logs in in the morning.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Automox provides enterprise-wide patching with consistent timing and update rings.

Information-Rich Dashboard That Makes Patching and Reporting Effortless

What do you like best about the product?
The dashboard shows a lot of information about everything that’s going on. At a glance, I can see where things are, what they are, and what they aren’t. You can do anything from the dashboard including running reports, checking devices and everything you need to know about your patching.
What do you dislike about the product?
I used to get signed off every hour, but I opened a ticket and they changed our environment to a 4-hour session. This lets me multitask, come back to exactly where I left off, and keep working—excellent!
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
The main problem, of course, was the constant stream of CVEs coming out every week and trying to keep up with them. Automox has simplified that by tracking all of the information for us and letting us create multiple schedules across multiple plants. We can pick the date and time, and it makes the whole process so much easier.

What do you like best about the product?
I like that Automox supports multiple platforms. It’s nice to see the posture of all my devices in one place and be able to manage everything from a single location. Their worklets are also very helpful and easy to use. On top of that, their support, training sessions, and videos have been really helpful as well.
What do you dislike about the product?
Setup and installation aren’t very easy, and they can sometimes fail. The logs and reporting could also be clearer and easier to read. In addition, patching or running commands occasionally doesn’t go through or fails to complete.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
This has helped us improve our company’s security posture while also unifying device patching across the organization. With schedules and automations running in the background, we spend less time on routine maintenance and it’s saving us both time and money.

What do you like best about the product?
For our company, it has helped automate updates and remediations. The support team is very responsive, and Automox University is a great learning tool for getting up to speed and continuing to learn.
What do you dislike about the product?
Scans are at 4 hours and while real time scan is not realistic. If this could be reduced to 2 hours would be much better.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
This helps us keep our devices in compliance while also improving vulnerability remediation. Otto AI has been very helpful for creating custom worklets, and the API integration with Axonius has been key as well.

What is our primary use case?
Automox is used in our system primarily to manage patch management. It helps in managing Windows updates, third-party application updates, browser patching, and security updates across employee laptops, verification teams, recruiters, operational staff, and our distributed workforce.
Since we have a remote culture, Automox helps in policy enforcement, software deployment, scripting, and remediation without requiring VPN connectivity or corporate LAN presence. It also handles third-party application patching, such as Chrome, Zoom, Adobe, Java, and Slack, ensuring that all these tools are properly patched. It provides patch compliance visibility, endpoint reporting, and vulnerability reporting, which helps during audits, customer security reviews, and SOC 2 compliance assessments.
Automox has helped us in automated patch management, specifically for Windows patches, third-party software patching, and remote endpoint remediation. Since we follow a remote culture, it is very important that our systems are safe. Automox has been a good tool and helps us in managing all those security capabilities.
What is most valuable?
Its biggest strength is cloud-native simplicity. Unlike different SCCM tools, it has no distribution points, no complex infrastructure, no heavy VPN dependencies, and no large management servers. It has very strong patch automation, particularly in automated OS patching, third-party patching, policy-based rollout, patch scheduling, and vulnerability remediation. It offers cross-platform support from Windows to Mac OS to Linux.
What needs improvement?
From an enterprise perspective, Automox could have better compliance reporting, which is needed for audit readiness, security reviews, and customer compliance evidence. It could also leverage AI, which would help in autonomous patch prioritization and risk remediation. It could provide better integration with SIEM tools, vulnerability scanners, ITSM platforms, and more granular controls for enterprises to create their own custom workflows. The cost is generally higher than its competitors.
I think the cost factor is a concern across the industry, as Automox is costlier than its competitors.

I have been working with this solution for over 8.5 years.

Automox has replaced and simplified our earlier SCCM patch workflows.

If you are looking for a solution that requires less infrastructure overhead and you have a strong remote workforce, then Automox will be the best tool for safeguarding your systems, as it provides patches on a need basis, safeguards the systems, and ensures the systems are protected from malicious intent, viruses, or any other threats.
What other advice do I have?
Our company purchased Automox last year only.
Automox has eased our operations. It is very simple to use and does not have heavy workflows. The security teams regularly use it. It has a triangle-like icon which ensures that the system is patched and proof.
Since we have a remote workforce, Automox provides VPN-less patching. We have distributed operations, so it provides cloud-native management. It provides different kinds of patch automation and helps us in reducing infrastructure overhead. It is suitable for cross-platforms including Windows, Mac OS, and Linux, and it is easier than any other SCCM solution.
Automox is a strong tool for managing the remote workforce. It ensures that our systems are not vulnerable and issue-proof, with all systems properly patched on a timely basis without needing VPN connectivity.
Automox is used in a centralized cloud-native approach across our globally distributed employee devices.
I believe Automox is moving in the right direction. If it can contain the cost, I think its demand will rise and it will consolidate a major market share.
