Streamlined Reporting Workflows with Reusable Transformers in FME
What do you like best about the product?
I use FME mainly for scheduled jobs that support our reporting system. It connects to SQL Server, pulls in some API data and then pushes cleaned outputs into Power BI datasets. The ability to chain multiple steps into a single workflow is useful. I’ve also used custom transformers to reuse the same logic across different reports, which saves time and keeps things more consistent in the long run.
What do you dislike about the product?
It can feel a bit heavy for fast changes. When a stakeholder asks for a small adjustment, I sometimes prefer to handle it outside of FME because its simply faster.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Its keeps our reporting data clean and well structured without needing constant manual checks. Thats made a real difference during month end reporting when things usually get hectic and we need everything to stay consistent.
FME Makes Data Integration and Daily Automation Smooth and Reliable
What do you like best about the product?
FME platform handles data from a range of systems, including APIs, Excel sheets and GIS tools and it makes it straightforward yo bring everything together in FME and i regularly use transformers such as Tester and Joiner and the integrations with PostgreSQL and REST APIs have worked smoothly for me without issues. We also rely on automation through FME flow on a daily basis, once the workflows are set up, they run reliably and require very little ongoing input.
What do you dislike about the product?
Sometimes debugging workflows takes longer than I expect and it can end up feeling less useful thsn other software where I can adjust workflows more easily as requirements change, the scheduling and automation features have also been reliable for me, which I do appreciate.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Its helped us centralize data processing. Instead of handling everything separately, we can now manage it all through dashboards, which saves time. That means I can spend more time on reporting and less time fixing raw inputs.
FME: Fast, No-Code ETL with Extensive Format Support
What do you like best about the product?
FME platform is very useful for ETL tasks which supports more than 450 data formats.
It makes ETL tasks very simple with it's no code platform.
FME executes tasks very fast when compared to scripts developed. The development efforts are also very less.
Server platform allows scheduling of tasks and provides different features for automating execution.
For spatial data related ETL, FME is undoubtedly preferred choice.

What do you dislike about the product?
Using existing objects makes development very simple and reduces efforts. However, in case if existing objects doesn't fit in the flow to solve the purpose, then things get hard.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Creating SQL or pythons scripts takes more efforts, coding expertise. Hence it takes more time to develop and also execute.
FME helps in achieving same results with very less effort. Execution also very fast. Huge data volumes can be processed efficiently.

No-Code Power and Exceptional SAFE Support
What do you like best about the product?
The NO CODE function of FME FORM and FLOW plus the exceptional customer support provided by SAFE staffers.
My organization is a "not for profit" and SAFE has provided free licenses for us for many years. We could not have achieved our outcomes without this support.

What do you dislike about the product?
We have FLOW installed on premisses and the process of updating is very difficult compared to the other FME products. We have delayed FLOW updates because of this difficulty.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?

FME Automation Makes API-to-SQL Pipelines Feel Effortless
What do you like best about the product?
The automation side of the FME platform is where it really shines for me. I’ve set up workflows that pull data from APIs clean it up, and then push it into SQL servers without me having to touch it again afterwards The tool library is pretty deep and once you get familiar
with it building pipelines starts to feel natural and straightforward. Integration with cloud storage like AWS S3 is also handy and the connection with ArcGIS and postGIS work well without requiring much setup.

Performance can dip when a workflow gets overly complex. Still I’ve built workflow that pull data from APIs, clean it up and load it into SQL server, and once they’re set up, I don’t have to touch them again.

FME Makes Data Jobs Easier with Flexible Workflows and Fantastic Support
What do you like best about the product?
Whether its the desktop Form product or server Flow product, FME makes data jobs easier to figure out, QA/QC achievable, and flexible with it's ability to incorporate different tools within a space. Pricing is reasonable for an organization, and the ROI on my day-to-day tasks huge. Support and On-Line training is fantastic and responsive. FME Flow helps with a lot of sustainable data pipelines for various departments in my organization (mid-size airport). Easy to pick up. Lots of different data formats are easily ingestible and writable!
What do you dislike about the product?
The UX can be a little daunting at first, but once you create a bunch of workspaces, it gets easier. FME Form is a server app so finding the correct business process for either scheduling, automations, or server/application app development can be a little tricky to suss out if you don't use it weekly.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Automates a lot of data consolidation and makes GIS applications so much better with regular updates and fixes from different data sources. Reduces a lot of questions and queries from non-GIS/CAD staff. Makes new mapping and application initiatives more sustainable in the long run.
