Dropbox has been a reliable cloud storage and collaboration platform

  • May 29, 2023
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Dropbox excels in providing a seamless backup solution for essential records, offering excellent mobile device support and intuitive file exploration. Its file sharing capabilities are impressive, allowing for easy sharing of documents with anyone. The collaboration features are efficient, enabling direct work on the platform without the need to shift files between devices. The automatic file backup option is a standout feature that ensures peace of mind. Dropbox's world-class security measures and efficient organization of documents make it a reliable choice. The fast uploading speed and the ability to store and track large files easily are also highly appreciated.
What do you dislike about the product?
In terms of security, I believe Dropbox could improve by implementing separate levels of authority for each synchronized device to enhance data protection. There have been instances where mobile devices with synchronized Dropbox accounts were lost or stolen, posing a potential risk. Additionally, some users find Dropbox's pricing to be relatively expensive compared to similar service providers, particularly for organizational use. While the interface is generally user-friendly, it can require basic program knowledge and familiarity with the web client interface to fully leverage Dropbox's capabilities.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Dropbox solves the problem of organizing and accessing files across multiple devices by providing a centralized cloud storage solution. This benefits me by ensuring that all my documents are securely stored in one place and accessible from anywhere with an internet connection. It eliminates the hassle of manually transferring files between devices and reduces the risk of data loss. Additionally, Dropbox's collaboration features streamline teamwork and enable efficient sharing and editing of files, enhancing productivity and facilitating seamless collaboration with colleagues and clients.

The best cloud storage solution!

  • May 23, 2023
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Dropbox makes it simple to share files and folders with others. You can invite collaborators to specific folders or generate shareable links to send to anyone, even if they don't have a Dropbox account. It offers generous storage options, ranging from free accounts with limited storage to paid plans with terabytes of space. This allows you to store and manage large amounts of data.
What do you dislike about the product?
Dropbox's paid plans can be more expensive compared to similar cloud storage providers, especially for higher storage tiers. This might be a consideration for users on a tight budget or those seeking more cost-effective options.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Dropbox keeps track of file versions, allowing you to restore previous versions or recover accidentally deleted files. This feature is especially useful for collaboration and file recovery purposes. It also syncs your files across devices in real-time. Any changes made to a file on one device are automatically updated on all other linked devices, ensuring you have the most up-to-date version. Dropbox has a strong privacy policy, and they have implemented measures to ensure your data remains confidential and is not shared without your consent.

It's a must have for businesses sharing files with clients

  • May 19, 2023
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Easy link sharing while maintaining privacy. I also appreciate the cloud which allows me to use several devices without having to carry around all the hard drives.
What do you dislike about the product?
The sync can be a bit slow. It's also difficult to evaluate what dropbox files are taking up too much space on my hard drive and I should sync to online-only to free up space for greater performance.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We needed a cloud solution to allow me to store our client's files while maintaining organization, team access and a high level of security. We also needed a way to share files with clients via link vs email to ensure we weren't send large files over email that would get caught in firewalls.

  • Review provided by PeerSpot

What is our primary use case?

I use Dropbox for backups.

What is most valuable?

Dropbox offers helpful functionalities for business purposes, such as receiving file requests from external parties like customers who don't have an account. Additionally, it includes features, such as reminders and workflow capabilities.

What needs improvement?

The price is expensive for individual users.

For how long have I used the solution?

I have been using Dropbox for approximately 10 years.

What do I think about the stability of the solution?

I rate the stability of Dropbox a ten out of ten.

What do I think about the scalability of the solution?

I am an individual user of the solution.

How was the initial setup?

The initial setup of Dropbox is simple and it took approximately 10 minutes.

To access the online service, it was required to create an account, and subsequently, to use the desktop application, which necessitated downloading and installing it.

What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing?

The pricing for non-corporations is expensive. They have raised their prices and have low storage capacity.

There is a monthly and annual model pay and use solution.

What other advice do I have?

I would recommend this solution to others.

I rate Dropbox an eight out of ten.

Efficient and User-Friendly Cloud Storage with Dropbox

  • May 08, 2023
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Dropbox is a great tool for storing and sharing files. I use it primarily for work-related documents and projects, and it has made it much easier for me to access my files from multiple devices and collaborate with colleagues.

I really like the simplicity of the Dropbox interface, as well as the automatic syncing of files across all my devices. This means that I can easily access and edit my files on my laptop, phone, or tablet without having to worry about manually transferring files between devices.
What do you dislike about the product?
One of the main criticisms of Dropbox is its pricing. While the basic plan is free, it has a relatively small storage capacity, and the paid plans can be expensive, particularly for users who need a large amount of storage.

Another issue that some users have reported is that Dropbox can be slow to upload or download files, particularly when dealing with larger files or when internet connectivity is poor. This can be frustrating for users who need to access their files quickly and efficiently.

Finally, some users have raised concerns about the privacy and security of their data on Dropbox, particularly given that the service is based in the United States, which has a reputation for government surveillance. While Dropbox does have encryption and security measures in place, some users may prefer to use a different cloud storage service that prioritizes privacy and data security.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
One problem that Dropbox solves is the issue of limited storage capacity on local devices. Many users have a large number of files and documents that they need to store and access regularly, which can quickly fill up the storage on their computers or other devices. Dropbox provides a cloud-based solution for storing and organizing these files, allowing users to free up space on their devices and access their files from anywhere.

What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Drop box allows me to share large files with colleagues without compromising our storage space on our devices. It makes our tasks easier and increases productivity.

  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
One of the most notable features of Dropbox is its ease of use. The service is simple and straightforward, making it easy for anyone to quickly get started with storing and sharing files. The user interface is clean and intuitive, allowing users to easily upload and manage files.

Another great feature of Dropbox is its compatibility with a wide range of devices and platforms. The service can be accessed via desktop and mobile apps, as well as through a web browser. This makes it incredibly convenient for users to access their files from anywhere, at any time.
What do you dislike about the product?
One potential downside of Dropbox is its pricing. While the service offers a free tier with limited storage, users who require more space will need to upgrade to a paid plan. This can become costly for larger organizations or individuals with extensive storage needs.
