Great resource for many purposes
What do you like best about the product?
It's fairly intuitive to use and the storage options are better than Google's options. I use this for storing music projects and pictures for the most part.
What do you dislike about the product?
I still think it should be even cheaper and that there should be more options for storage amounts. I also miss everything being part of the Google Drive network.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
The main problems I have are lack of storage on my computer and a need to send large files over the internet. This solves both problems.
Fancy but not functional
What do you like best about the product?
It's about the same as other file sharing apps now. I do like the mobile version best now.
What do you dislike about the product?
On desktop, each level of selection navigation has different hot spots and requires multiple attempts. For example, in root level side bar, it's one click activated. In deeper levels (folders) with specific underline link click is required or click searching for hot spot. IT IS NEVER FAST OR ACCOMPLISHED ON FIRST CLICK. love newer category photos in nav section, but they aren't clickable yet the largest target. Easier on mobile.
Hard to share with clients who aren't paid members. This has caused us to client share with Google instead.
Hard to share with clients who aren't paid members. This has caused us to client share with Google instead.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Not solving a thing new anymore. Easier to use google when sharing with external clients.
The Best Solution for File Back Ups and Easy File Exchange Between Devices/Parties
What do you like best about the product?
Dropbox has allowed me so much freedom with how I manage my files. My files stay up to date in real time accross all platforms and allow for easy exchange between devices. I no longer have to rely upon keeping backups and hardware storage because Dropbox does that for me.
What do you dislike about the product?
Nothing is truly to dislike about Dropbox. The service has been extremely helpful and efficient.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
No longer the need to keep back ups or storage drives. No more concerns about files not being backed up, as they are updated and real time and can be exchanged between multiple parties and devices.
Excellent service of using Dropbox
What do you like best about the product?
It is very convenient to use and fast to save and retrieve files.
What do you dislike about the product?
The free storage should be increased for 5GB to 10GB
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
The file storage problem that has been solved.
A seamless experience
What do you like best about the product?
I love the ease of access across multiple platforms. Due to the specifics of my work, I access Dropbox on three different computer and one mobile OS and I've never had problems with access to data or synchronisation, something that has always been an issue with other mainstream providers. At the same time, there's an intuitive web interface for access from one-off hosts.
What do you dislike about the product?
I've never had issues with available space, but I guess this might be a limitation for someone.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Have secure and cross-platform access to data from anywhere
Rock solid performance since day one
What do you like best about the product?
So consistent. Never had any problems, and easy to share among my various computers.
What do you dislike about the product?
Can't think of anything at the moment! Love it.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Syncing all my design files among various computers/systems, and sharing files with client.
Organization at its best
What do you like best about the product?
Organization of files that involves arranging them systematically for easy retrieval. I love that it allows collaborators to access and collaborate on documents. It sets permissions to control who can view or edit files for effective collaboration.
What do you dislike about the product?
While Dropbox is widely used for file storage and sharing, it has some downsides. One concern is privacy; as a third-party service, there’s a reliance on Dropbox’s security measures. Another downside can be the cost, as additional storage space may require a subscription. Offline access could be challenging if there’s no internet connection, and there might be limitations on large file transfers with free accounts.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Dropbox’s version control helps avoid confusion with multiple files, it offers a centralized location for files, reducing the risk of data loss. However, it’s essential to evaluate specific business needs to ensure Dropbox aligns with my organization’s goals and security requirements.
Extremely reliable, many application hooks
What do you like best about the product?
Dropbox is extremely reliable. I never worry about having data stored there. It also plays very well with many applications that rely on cloud data or that store items in the cloud. It has much more flexible file naming conventions than OneDrive. It basically accepts everything you can throw at it. It has great file transfer options, including for secure file transfer. I use it every day.
What do you dislike about the product?
Several shortcomings of Dropbox stand out. 1) It is expensive compared with a service like Google Drive. 2) It does not have many of Google Drive's features, such as the ability to stream video files, to protect PDFs from being downloaded, and to create docs of various kinds within the application; 3) it is not as privacy-focused as a cloud service such as Proton Drive.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Storage and sharing.
And the starter account is free!
What do you like best about the product?
There is a free plan, and it's actually pretty decent! It's honestly refreshing that the basic account is functional and free because a lot of folks need just a little storage and the ability to try it out like that is great. I'm thrilled that it also works on Windows and Linux in addition to Mac OS X, because that lets me use it to handle computer issues on other OSes more easily.
What do you dislike about the product?
I worry about being locked out of my account because of the two-factor aspect.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
It helps me get things done across multiple OSes, and it's unobtrusive while also being handy. You can't ask for more than that!
Works well across multiple devices
What do you like best about the product?
Love using Dropbox to sync pictures and documents across multiple devices. Saves me time and keeps my files protected from being corrupted in case of hard drive failure
What do you dislike about the product?
Not always easy to figure out how to sync it on my personal laptop. I often have to end the processes for Dropbox and other apps to help with my laptop overheating (laptop overheats very easily)
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Ability to access files from any device
