Overview
GoAnywhere MFT Agents are managed by a central deployment of GoAnywhere Managed File Transfer (MFT), which allows you to configure and schedule agent file transfers and business processes from an intuitive, browser-based interface.
MFT agents can be installed onto almost any server or workstation where file transfers or workflows need to be performed. This includes Windows, Linux, UNIX, IBM I, and Mac OS systems. For organizations who prefer to perform their file transfers in the cloud, GoAnywhere MFT supports the use of agents remotely in cloud infrastructure such as Amazon EC2 or Microsoft Azure.
GoAnywhere MFT agents support many features to help you meet key IT initiatives in your organization. Here are just a few of the things agents can do:
- Automate and secure file transfers within a centrally managed environment
- Monitor folders on agent systems for new or modified files
- Schedule agent file transfers to run at future dates/times

Usage instructions
Prior to creating EC2 instance, copy Agent CA certificate from GoAnywhere MFT:
- Log in to GoAnywhere MFT Admin
- Go to Services/Service Manager
- Click gear icon beside 'Agents' and select 'Edit'
- Go to Server/SSL section
- Click on link next to 'CA Certificate'
- Copy contents of 'Server CA PEM Format' tab
While Launching EC2:
- Under 'Advanced Details', find the 'User data' section, paste in following code and update accordingly:

What do you like best about the product?
What I lake the most is the key management system in GoAnywhere MFT. It provides a centralization of the key vault for all our PGP, SSH, and SSL certificates, making it easy to track expiration dates and to rotate keys. I also value the secure ICAP gateway integration, which automatically detects sensitive data and redacts it from files in transit based on our cooperation policies.
What do you dislike about the product?
The most dislike pain point is with the pricing, because like every essential security feature requires an additional license, which makes the total cost of ownership quite high for small and medium companies.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I use GoAnywhere MFT for ad hoc file transfers through secure mail and upload plugins, allowing us to send confidential data securely. It integrates well into our applications, automating provisioning and job execution without manual effort.

The best thing about GoAnywhere MFT It saves us hours of manual work , it is a powerful 'Project' automation, which has replaced our manual scripts with reliable, drag-and-drop workflows.

we can Use the Azure Data Lake or Azure Blob Storage Cloud Connectors to move data directly into your cloud environment without writing a single line of code.

What do you like best about the product?
I really like how GoAnywhere MFT makes automation easy. It saves a lot of time by removing manual work and reducing the need for custom scripts. The interface is simple to use, yet it offers strong security features, which makes it reliable for handling sensitive data. I also appreciate the centralized monitoring and reporting; it's really helpful to have a single place where we can track all file transfers, check logs, and quickly identify if something fails. The alerting system is also handy as it notifies us immediately if there's an issue. The way it integrates with APIs, cloud storage, and internal servers to move data between different environments is a great fit for our existing setup. It's a reliable and secure solution with strong automation capabilities, making day-to-day file transfers much easier. I would definitely recommend it.
What do you dislike about the product?
One downside is that the UI feels a bit outdated and not always very intuitive. Also, troubleshooting can take some time when workflows fail, as the logs are not always super easy to understand. The initial setup was manageable but not exactly straightforward. There's a bit of a learning curve at the start, especially for new users, but once everything is set up, it runs quite smoothly.

I use GoAnywhere MFT for secure file transfers and automating data exchange. It helps us solve issues around secure and reliable file transfers. I like its user-friendly interface, strong security, and centralized monitoring which makes managing file transfers easier.

What do you like best about the product?
What I like is the extensive cloud connector marketplace as it allows us to integrate our workflow directly with platforms like Salesforce and SharePoint without writing a single line of custom API codes. The secure form module continues to be our favorite for the business because it provides a simple way to collect data and automatically triggers back-end workflows. Additionally, having many options to connect with the cloud gives us the flexibility to integrate our software effortlessly.
What do you dislike about the product?
I find the performance bottlenecks frustrating when running high volume, concurrent operations. This becomes an issue, especially during large-scale data translations from SQL databases to XML.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I use GoAnywhere MFT to secure and manage file transfers, automate file exchange, eliminate data fragmentation, ensure compliance, and gain transaction visibility.

What do you like best about the product?
I like that it reduces the need to build and maintain custom file transfer logic in applications. Instead of writing scripts for moving, encrypting, or transforming files, I can rely on GoAnywhere workflows and APIs to handle those steps. It supports common formats like JSON, XML, CSV, and EDI, which makes it easier to integrate with different systems.
What do you dislike about the product?
The workflow setup is powerful but takes time to fully understand, especially when chaining multiple tasks together. Debugging is not always straightforward, and the interface could be more developer friendly when working across multiple projects.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
In many projects, file transfers and data preparation add extra complexity to application code. With GoAnywhere, those responsibilities are handled outside the application layer using scheduled or event based workflows. This reduces code maintenance, improves reliability, and makes integrations easier to manage as systems evolve.
