Flexible consumption model has transformed hybrid cloud deployment and streamlined PC lifecycle
What is our primary use case?
I use Dell APEX to shift infrastructure management into a flexible consumption-based model. I use Dell APEX to accelerate hybrid cloud deployment, scaling storage, and intensive workloads by automating PC lifecycle management and streamlining multi-cloud management.
We adopted Dell APEX cloud platform for Red Hat OpenShift to run containerized workloads directly on-premises, allowing us to maintain data locality for sensitive financial records while enjoying public cloud-like agility and rapid deployment.
For a multinational manufacturing enterprise with multiple edge locations or factory floors, they utilize Dell APEX Private Cloud for Manufacturing Edge to consolidate multiple workloads such as inventory management, quality assurance AI, and Industrial IoT into a single, standardized on-premises infrastructure.
Users of Dell APEX can achieve a genuine hybrid approach, paying only for the persistent storage and burst capacity they actually consume, which reduces upfront capital expenditures.
What is most valuable?
The best feature of Dell APEX is that developers can rapidly sign up applications, and the IT team manages hardware lifecycle operations through the same native OpenShift console they use every day.
Another valuable feature of Dell APEX is the subscription-based, pay-per-user model that easily scales as we deploy new applications to the edge, rather than over-provisioning servers at each factory.
Streamlining device deployment is another benefit that Dell APEX has provided. A Denmark-based manufacturing company with a small IT department uses Dell APEX as a PC service, and the group IT operations manager implements it. The company shortened PC configuration time from two to three days down to 25 minutes per laptop, which frees the internal IT team to focus on high-value innovation rather than low-value, routine tasks, helping add more benefits in a short period of time.
What needs improvement?
The organization can combine traditional on-premises infrastructure with Dell APEX block data storage services, allowing them to burst compute and storage on demand when performing large-scale data mining or training AI models to meet traffic without permanently investing in excess hardware.
Currently, I don't see any needed improvements for Dell APEX, as it is sufficient for users and very easy to handle.
For how long have I used the solution?
I have been using Dell APEX for the last three years in my company.
What do I think about the stability of the solution?
Dell APEX is a very stable product in my experience.
What do I think about the scalability of the solution?
For scalability, the Denmark manufacturing company with a small IT department shortened PC subscription time and used the organization's configuration with Dell APEX block data storage service, enabling them to achieve a genuine hybrid approach when performing large-scale data mining or training AI models.
How are customer service and support?
Customer support for Dell APEX is very good. Whenever we face an issue, we raise a case and customer support rapidly highlights our issue and provides us the solution.
Which solution did I use previously and why did I switch?
I have not tried any other services before Dell APEX, as it provided what we needed and fulfills our needs, which is why we did not shift to another service.
We did not choose any other options before selecting Dell APEX because of the trust we have in this product due to the market it has.
What other advice do I have?
I would suggest that people use Dell APEX because it is very good and scalable for that purpose, promoting company growth. Dell APEX is a good product, so I recommend everyone to use this. I would rate this product eight out of ten.

Centralized file sharing has simplified team collaboration and has reduced project infrastructure costs
What is our primary use case?
My main use case for Dell APEX is that I have some data for a project, and I wanted some data in-house. I was looking to purchase a server for that, but then I learned about Dell APEX , which helped me implement in-house data. The pay-as-you-go model is very beneficial.
A specific example of how I have used Dell APEX for my project is that it serves as an in-house file server for a project only.
I am currently using Dell APEX as a file server and am not using it for other projects.
What is most valuable?
The best features Dell APEX offers for my file server project are the ability to share files across the team using that server.
This feature has made my workflow and collaboration easier because all my data is in a central database and central server. I can access all the files, and the entire team can access all the files from a central server.
Dell APEX has positively impacted my organization by making things easier. Instead of having to purchase a server and implement it, we subscribe to Dell APEX and everything is handled by the Dell team, which is a very easy and efficient process.
For how long have I used the solution?
I have been working in my field for one year in my current organization.

What other advice do I have?
My advice for others looking into using Dell APEX is that if you want a pay-as-you-go model or if it is for a small project for a limited time, you can use it instead of purchasing hardware, which would be very beneficial. I give this product a rating of 10 out of 10.
Pay-as-you-go infrastructure has cut hardware costs and supports flexible in-house data storage
What is our primary use case?
I typically use Dell APEX for my in-house data, as I had rented it and taken it out for that purpose.
We have some data that we want to store in-house, so we are using Dell APEX . We had taken the subscription of that and the Dell team implemented it.
The main use case for Dell APEX is for cost cutting, as we have done many cost cuts on purchasing hardware. Instead of now using Dell APEX, we pay as per a pay-as-you-go model, which is the best option, as we have to pay only as we use.
What is most valuable?
The best features Dell APEX offers, in my experience, include the pay-as-you-go model, as we do not need to purchase all the hardware; we subscribe to them instead. This is the best feature, and it supports a multi-cloud environment and connects with Azure , which is very beneficial for us.
The multi-cloud environment support and Azure connectivity are beneficial for us, as I can also connect with Azure and AWS .
Dell APEX positively impacts my organization by solving many hardware costs, as we are paying a pay-as-you-go model, which is very beneficial for us and saves a lot of money.
For how long have I used the solution?
I have been using Dell APEX for one year.

I rate the customer support for Dell APEX an 8 out of 10, as I got all the solutions from them.
Which solution did I use previously and why did I switch?

What was our ROI?
There is a return on investment with Dell APEX.
What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing?
The pricing, setup cost, and licensing will be handled by my CEO, so I don't know about that.
Which other solutions did I evaluate?
I did not evaluate other options before choosing Dell APEX; I only evaluated some rented servers and found that Dell APEX fit our requirements well, so I went ahead with it.
What other advice do I have?
If you want an in-house server for some time, you can go ahead with Dell APEX, as it will be very beneficial for you; you can subscribe to it and use it. I would rate this product an 8 out of 10.
Rapid development has boosted our projects but complex interface still needs improvement
What is our primary use case?
My main use case for Dell APEX is for rapid development in our company, and we have been using it for that purpose for the past six to eight months. We can develop something in as little as a week or two weeks. We can also use it for extreme scalability because it gives us storage and cloud capabilities.
A specific example of a project where Dell APEX helped me develop something quickly or scale efficiently is when we are building something in our company. What cloud platforms such as Dell APEX do is deploy pre-configured clusters or integrate with software such as Microsoft Azure , fast-tracking our work by 90 percent. A traditional setup takes so much time to install, boot up, and do everything else. This allows us to develop something in as little as seven to ten days. Dell APEX also has extreme scalability. Whenever we are developing something and there is a massive increase in users, we can do on-demand scaling. If users are coming quickly, it can scale automatically.
How has it helped my organization?
Dell APEX has positively impacted my organization by enabling massive and fast development, and we are not worrying about scalability right now. We also increased efficiency, with the IT staff's efficiency up to 50 percent higher, and we can also go to market faster now. We can save so much money, up to 40 to 50 percent.
What is most valuable?
The best features Dell APEX offers include massive and fast development and massive scalability. It also has an Instant On feature. We can initially pay, and Dell installs more hardware into our systems. We also love the 14-day guarantee period because some companies will not offer it. If we do not want it, we can directly get out of it. They also have a tool called APEX Navigator. We can add more storage power to the computer.
The Instant On feature has helped my team significantly because Dell will install more hardware on the system that we are using than what we actually pay for, and when we get a sudden spike in traffic, it automatically auto-scales things, so nothing will break or anything else. APEX Navigator works for us by allowing us to directly navigate to it whenever we want more storage or more computer power, so with a single click, we can do it, adding storage to your phone or changing the RAM, ROM, or something else.
What needs improvement?
I believe Dell APEX can be improved because it is very complex for people who do not know it or are very new to it, so they need to simplify their UI or UX. They also need some good software updates because it sometimes uses older technology. It should also have good ecosystem integration with APEX Navigator or something similar.
For how long have I used the solution?
I have been using Dell APEX for four years.
What do I think about the stability of the solution?
Dell APEX is stable; sometimes it may crash, but it is average or sometimes below average.
What do I think about the scalability of the solution?
Dell APEX has very good scalability.
How are customer service and support?
Customer support for Dell APEX is inconsistent; I cannot tell you exactly, but it is average.
Which solution did I use previously and why did I switch?
I did not use anything before because I have only been using Dell APEX for the past six to eight months. I joined this team recently, so I do not know which tool they were using previously, but they told me they started using it recently.
How was the initial setup?
We started using Dell APEX with Microsoft Azure , and it is a multi-cloud design. I think we are getting it from AWS , but I am not the one paying for it, so I do not know exactly.
What about the implementation team?
I purchased Dell APEX through the AWS Marketplace .
What was our ROI?
We have seen a return on investment with Dell APEX. We are pushing to market faster now, and we are in a rapid deployment or development stage. It helps us because we are spending less time on each project. Efficiency has also improved because we are not wasting time. We also have good scalability now, so we do not need to worry about more people coming in and more people going out or anything else.
What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing?
My experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing is that it is a long-term expense; we may feel it is expensive after a five or ten-year period. The setup is a zero upfront cost for us because we are using the cloud, and regarding the license, it is all-inclusive in the price, so we do not have to pay anything extra for licenses, up to an extent. It also provides us with hybrid licensing.
Which other solutions did I evaluate?
We did not evaluate other options before choosing Dell APEX.
What other advice do I have?
My advice for others looking into using Dell APEX is that it is good. They can start using it, and they can also save money and time. They can also enter the fast-deploying world. I would rate this review a six overall.
