Barracuda Email Protection's filtering is very good but could be just slightly better; it does get 95% of the spam, but a couple get through in a week that are obviously spam.

The only issue we have experienced is that it sometimes takes a back-and-forth string of emails and decides randomly to encrypt it, so what was a benign conversation is now locked behind a wall for recipients. As the sender, I have no idea when it will decide to do this, and I have to remember to tag emails with a decrypting tag long before it happens or face the consequences. I give Barracuda Email Protection an overall rating of 9.

Microsoft 365 Defender  users will probably not need it either, as Microsoft's in-built tools have really come along and have a much better interface.
