Hosting has become faster and cheaper while custom control saves significant time and effort

    Reviewed on Apr 11, 2026
Review from a verified AWS customer

What is our primary use case?

We are using Wordpress on Amazon Linux  for hosting our WordPress websites, customizations, and themes. We have one e-commerce website that we have hosted on Amazon Linux  on Wordpress, and we are currently running our website on that.

    What is most valuable?

The best features Wordpress on Amazon Linux  offers include speed better than Windows Servers, being cheap, and the ability to enter into the server and customize based on my preference or based on what I want.

Regarding the speed improvements I have noticed compared to Windows Servers, on Windows Server , startup times and other startup application times took time to boot up our machine and server, and also website. Using Linux, it has become faster with not much boot time or startup times.

Regarding cost, Windows has some licensing and server fees that are very high, but on Linux, we do not have that much cost, so using Amazon Web Services  (AWS ) has become cheaper as we do not have to pay that much money compared to Windows.

Wordpress on Amazon Linux has positively impacted our organization by saving us lots of time, effort, and cost. About 20 to 30% of our time has been saved.

    What needs improvement?

Wordpress on Amazon Linux can be improved in some ways, like by providing some tools that allow us to upload our theme or website contents and related website things, and also regarding certificate rotations to make it easy, and it can be better in sessions. I want to see sync file upload features.

For how long have I used the solution?

I have been using Wordpress on Amazon Linux for around six to seven months.

What do I think about the stability of the solution?

Wordpress on Amazon Linux is stable, but it can be improved.

What do I think about the scalability of the solution?

Wordpress on Amazon Linux has scaled our infrastructure very much better, so scalability is good.

How are customer service and support?

Customer support is good; we have reached customer support one or two times, and the support is good.

Which solution did I use previously and why did I switch?

We have been using Windows Server  for our WordPress because Windows was becoming expensive for us, and we have switched to Wordpress on Amazon Linux.

    How was the initial setup?

I purchased Wordpress on Amazon Linux through the AWS Marketplace . My experience with pricing is that it is not that much, and the setup is easy using the marketplace AMI; we just need to add our details, so it is easy.

    What about the implementation team?

We are just using it without any business relationship with the vendor other than being a customer.

    What was our ROI?

We have saved about 20-30% of our time, and regarding money, we can say that 30-40% of our money is also saved.

Which other solutions did I evaluate?

We did not evaluate other options, as we had a mindset that we wanted to use Amazon Linux  for WordPress.

What other advice do I have?

On a scale of 1 to 10, I would rate Wordpress on Amazon Linux an eight. I chose eight out of ten because it needs some improvement. You can use Wordpress on Amazon Linux if you want to save your time, save your money, and want everything handy, such as every patch, update, and other things that you want to manage by yourself. I would rate this product an 8 overall.

Building modern websites has transformed our workflow and now saves us more than half our time

    Reviewed on Apr 08, 2026
Review from a verified AWS customer

What is our primary use case?

My main use case for Wordpress on Amazon Linux  is to create a website, which was rather complicated to use when including plugins.

A quick specific example of how I use Wordpress on Amazon Linux  is that we use it as a base for our page builder so that we can achieve the custom result we hope for. At that time, we do not have a problem with the templates other than not being a big fan of how they work, and we do not do blogging. We are really looking for working and building website functionality, and we also use it for multiple websites in our business. We previously had a different approach to build a webpage but quickly realized that many things we wanted to implement were not possible, or we were stuck with one web designer whom we were never able to reach. Since switching to Wordpress on Amazon Linux, we can change things on the webpage easily to integrate many other apps and resources by ourselves and have an online place that seems trustworthy and modern.

I would add that we rely most on webpage building and app integration with Wordpress on Amazon Linux, which has been good to our organization and has really brought a positive impact to our organization.

    What is most valuable?

The best features that Wordpress on Amazon Linux offers are web building and app integration for my needs.

What stands out for me about the web building and app integration is that the ease of use and flexibility has really helped in the workflow in our organization.

I find the ability to achieve solutions with plugins very valuable when it comes to the features of Wordpress on Amazon Linux.

Wordpress on Amazon Linux has positively impacted my organization by helping us save time. Between 55 percent to 60 percent of our time was saved, and the time we saved allows us to dive deeper into Wordpress and also enables our organization to run smoothly under Wordpress.

I measured the time savings through both fewer meetings and project completion, which took less time than we expected.

    What needs improvement?

I found that Wordpress on Amazon Linux could be improved as the GUI has not changed much in years and could afford to be made more modern and condensed. I wish they would invest in that.

For how long have I used the solution?

I have been using Wordpress on Amazon Linux for five years.

What do I think about the stability of the solution?

In my experience, Wordpress on Amazon Linux is very stable.

What do I think about the scalability of the solution?

Wordpress on Amazon Linux is very scalable.

How are customer service and support?

Customer support for Wordpress on Amazon Linux is very responsive and supportive.

Which solution did I use previously and why did I switch?

I previously used Web.com before switching to Wordpress on Amazon Linux, as it is all in what you want and how you want to do it. The newer SaaS platform can be much easier to use for non-web people. The increasing political issues within the Wordpress leadership and committee are starting to become more concerning.

    What was our ROI?

Before choosing Wordpress on Amazon Linux, I evaluated other options such as Wix .

What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing?

My experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing has been that overall costs are low, and execution is very flexible.

What other advice do I have?

My advice to others looking into using Wordpress on Amazon Linux is that if you are a beginner in web design and want to have your own website without much hassle, Wordpress is well-suited. It is easy to change many things by yourself, easy to add plugins to cater to your individual needs, and it cannot be used just as a blog but as a full website. I would rate my overall experience with Wordpress on Amazon Linux as a 9.

Which deployment model are you using for this solution?

    Hybrid Cloud

If public cloud, private cloud, or hybrid cloud, which cloud provider do you use?

Flexible websites have boosted our client work and continue to streamline complex projects

    Reviewed on Apr 08, 2026
Review from a verified AWS customer

What is our primary use case?

Wordpress on Amazon Linux  serves as our main platform for business and personal websites in our organization. I have been using it for quite some time and for many applications. It can be adapted for many needs online and can be a great tool for our business. However, if managing it yourself, it can be a headache when plugins and themes conflict with each other.

A quick specific example of how I use Wordpress on Amazon Linux  for my business website is that it easily adapts to simple or complex projects. If you don't have access to dedicated support, a plugin and theme conflict can break a site and make it unusable. So it cannot be recommended for a layman or self-hosting.

We also use Wordpress on Amazon Linux for building websites, whether internal intranets, CRM  systems, or full B2B or B2C sites.

    What is most valuable?

In my opinion, the best features Wordpress on Amazon Linux offers include multiple plugin packages allowing low-code solutions, versatile styling options, and ease of scaling to different media ratios. It is also easy to create test environments, host dependent, and pipelines.

The multiple plugin packages and ease of scaling have helped our team by scaling up and earning more clients. Our organization's programs have been flowing very well under Wordpress on Amazon Linux, which is a positive impact to our organization, and we are grateful for that.

Flexibility for custom coding is another great feature of Wordpress on Amazon Linux.

Wordpress on Amazon Linux has impacted my organization positively by helping us save time. With that saved time, we are using it to dive deeper into Wordpress on Amazon Linux. We have also onboarded a lot of clients into leveraging Wordpress on Amazon Linux, and the learning curve is minimal for doing basic things. The ability to create new custom post types, pages, taxonomies, or use page builders is great.

I can share that 45 to 60% of our time has been saved since we started using Wordpress on Amazon Linux, which is a positive impact to our organization.

    What needs improvement?

Wordpress on Amazon Linux can be improved by allowing more flexibility for login customization natively within the system. It would be great to have more security features enabled without relying on third-party external products.

For how long have I used the solution?

I have been working in my current field for five years.

What do I think about the stability of the solution?

Wordpress on Amazon Linux is stable.

What do I think about the scalability of the solution?

Wordpress on Amazon Linux is very scalable.

How are customer service and support?

The customer support for Wordpress on Amazon Linux is very supportive and responsive.

I would rate the customer support as nine out of ten.

Which solution did I use previously and why did I switch?

I previously used Squarespace  as a different solution, and I switched because there are no other site builder platforms that stand up to the ease and versatility of Wordpress on Amazon Linux. Squarespace  may be sufficient for someone with very low web needs, much Shopify . It is incredibly limiting and either requires you to hit it with a hammer and hack code together to do what you want or rely on often shoddy third-party themes with Liquid script. Wordpress on Amazon Linux won for us.

    How was the initial setup?

I purchased Wordpress on Amazon Linux through the AWS Marketplace .

    What was our ROI?

We have seen a return on investment with Wordpress on Amazon Linux, as the breadth of third-party builders and themes allowed deep diversity in builds. Execution is very flexible. We have observed a savings of 50 to 65% of our time since we deployed Wordpress on Amazon Linux in our organization.

What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing?

My experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing was average. It was affordable since it is an important platform in our organization.

Which other solutions did I evaluate?

Before choosing Wordpress on Amazon Linux, I evaluated other options including Adobe InDesign  and Adobe Acrobat .

What other advice do I have?

My advice for others looking into using Wordpress on Amazon Linux is to take your time to learn the platform and understand your business needs. It may not be suitable if a fully custom solution or app is needed. Wordpress on Amazon Linux does not have limitations when it comes to connecting to external products. I would rate this product nine out of ten overall.

Building intuitive online stores has boosted our web development speed and grown our business

    Reviewed on Apr 08, 2026
Review from a verified AWS customer

What is our primary use case?

My main use case for Wordpress on Amazon Linux  is creating e-commerce web stores across various industries such as education, fashion, and marketing. Wordpress requires no pre-experience in coding to develop the webpages, and we can integrate various plugins from the store to add more features to the website, including payment gateways and social share buttons. We streamline the development process and enhance functionality to cater to the specific needs of different business sectors.

    What is most valuable?

The best features Wordpress on Amazon Linux  offers include easy e-commerce integration with the WooCommerce plugin. Lots of customization is available through plugins. User management and access control is better than other Microsoft solutions. Wordpress is user-friendly and good for SEO as well.

Wordpress on Amazon Linux is very user-friendly, making it easy to use. It has positively impacted my organization by helping us, as it is easy to use and helps our beginners with an intuitive UI.

Since it is easy and fast to use, we have reduced the consumption of building time. We are trying to invest 45% to 55% of our coverage time to dive deep into Wordpress.

Wordpress on Amazon Linux integrates very easily with other tools or systems in my organization, and it has been a positive impact using it. It is very easy for my team to manage and maintain Wordpress on Amazon Linux, though the challenge is that there are various plugins of poor quality that need improvement.

Wordpress on Amazon Linux helps with compliance and regulatory needs in my industry. It has really improved our services in our organization, and we are very happy about using it and would recommend it 100%.

Wordpress on Amazon Linux supports my organization's growth and scalability needs, and it has been able to keep up as our needs have grown. We have seen an improvement of 40% since we deployed Wordpress on Amazon Linux in our organization.

    What needs improvement?

Wordpress on Amazon Linux can be improved by addressing the various plugins of poor quality that need improvement. The security of the website could also improve, and they should invest in that area.

For how long have I used the solution?

I have been using Wordpress on Amazon Linux for five years and eight months.

What do I think about the stability of the solution?

Wordpress on Amazon Linux is very stable.

What do I think about the scalability of the solution?

Wordpress on Amazon Linux is very scalable.

How are customer service and support?

The customer support for Wordpress on Amazon Linux is very responsive and proactive.

Which solution did I use previously and why did I switch?

I previously used BigCommerce as a different solution.

I switched from BigCommerce to Wordpress on Amazon Linux because Wordpress is relatively easy to use, especially for beginners with an intuitive UI. Wordpress has a massive user base, an extensive plugin library, and support forums, making it easier to find solutions to problems or get assistance during the website setup. Their customer service is top-notch, and Wordpress is highly customizable.

    How was the initial setup?

Before choosing Wordpress on Amazon Linux, I evaluated other options including BigCommerce and Shopify .

    What was our ROI?

I have seen a return on investment because the ready-to-use themes and plugins help expedite website development. Additionally, SEO-friendly site structure and plugins for SEO optimization contribute to improved search engine rankings, which helps with ROI.

What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing?

My experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing is that it was a bit high, but we cannot complain. It was affordable.

What other advice do I have?

I would rate Wordpress on Amazon Linux nine out of 10.

I chose that rating because if they invest in the security of the website and address the various plugins of poor quality, they will achieve a perfect 10 out of 10.

The performance of Wordpress on Amazon Linux is good, and we cannot complain so far. It is keeping our organization on track.

The backup and recovery process with Wordpress on Amazon Linux is straightforward, and we have not encountered any challenges so far.

The documentation and community support for Wordpress on Amazon Linux has been very helpful.

My advice for others looking into using Wordpress on Amazon Linux is that Wordpress websites are well suited for sites including blogs, content publishing, small to medium businesses, informational websites, and nonprofits. Conversely, there are scenarios where Wordpress might be less appropriate: highly customized web applications, large-scale enterprise solutions, and specialized e-commerce platforms with over 2,000 products listed. My overall review rating for Wordpress on Amazon Linux is 9 out of 10.
