A reliable AD auditing tool that's saved us real time

    Reviewed on May 06, 2026
    Review provided by G2
What do you like best about the product?
After using ADAudit Plus for a couple of years now, the thing that keeps standing out is how thorough the audit reports are for Active Directory. When something happens — a group policy change, an account lockout, privilege escalation — I can pull a report and actually understand the full picture without having to chase down logs manually.
The reports are detailed enough to satisfy auditors but still readable enough that I can hand them to a manager who doesn't live in the weeds with me. That balance is harder to find than you'd think. It's saved me a lot of time during compliance reviews and internal investigations.
What do you dislike about the product?
The pricing and licensing structure has always felt more complicated than it needs to be. It's not always obvious what's included in your tier versus what requires an upgrade, and that can make budget conversations with management a bit awkward.
Support is hit or miss too — sometimes you get a fast, helpful response, other times it drags on longer than you'd like for something that feels straightforward.
One other thing I'd love to see improved is the scheduled report setup. Creating or updating scheduled reports isn't as intuitive as the rest of the product, and it's one of those things that takes more clicks and trial-and-error than it should for a tool you rely on regularly.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Before ADAudit Plus, tracking down what actually happened during a security incident meant digging through raw event logs manually — slow, tedious, and easy to miss something. Now I can get to the root of an issue in a fraction of the time. Whether it's a suspicious login, an unexpected account change, or something that tripped an alert, the trail is right there without having to piece it together by hand.
The biggest benefit honestly just comes down to time. Investigations that used to eat up an afternoon now take maybe 20-30 minutes. That adds up quickly, especially when incidents don't exactly schedule themselves at convenient moments.

AD Audit provides us with in depth visibility.

What do you like best about the product?
I like the depth of visibility AD Audit provides the team with into both our On bbPrem AD and Entra ID as well as the prebuilt reports it avails to the team.
What do you dislike about the product?
My main dislike with AD Audit is its compute resource consumption rate.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Manage Engine helps us primarily with two things:
    - Tracing user passwords and lockout issues.
    - Provides us with scheduled reports detailing all changes made within the domain within a set amount of time.

ADAudit Plus provides good visibility, logging, reporting, and alerting.

What do you like best about the product?
The default dashboard for ADAudit Plus provides a good overview of what is happening in your Active Directory environment. There are a ton of reporting options that allow you to drill down to the specific information you are looking for that also offer AND/OR for every column in those reports, allowing you to further refine the reports. File server auditing and Active Directory backup are both very useful features as well.
What do you dislike about the product?
While the number of reporting options is appreciated, it can sometimes be overwhelming to find a report if you don't already know its location or what you're looking for. Thankfully, there is a search feature that works well to mitigate this minor issue. There are only three alert levels: attention, trouble, and critical. It would be nice to have the option for a wider range of severity levels to fine tune alerts.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
ADAudit Plus provides good insights into you on premises and cloud directories, allowing views into patterns and history of events within those directories. The included Active Directory backup and rollback feature is very useful and provides peace of mind.

AdAudit Plus - Great reporting and auditing tool

    Reviewed on Oct 25, 2023

What do you like best about the product?
Perfect compatibility with active directory and microsoft servers and user-friendly management interface.
What do you dislike about the product?
It's great for active directory reporting and auditing, but I would love to have the same features in Admanager in the same app.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
It is perfect to monitor all activities on our servers such as active directory and windows file server. And creating alarms based on the activity makes it very easy to track critical operations. For example, instantly monitoring authorizations managed with admin groups or security groups and defining alarms can save lives.
