Excellent Product and Support

  • August 12, 2021
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
The ease of setting up templates to manage different mac products is fantastic.
What do you dislike about the product?
Any limitations it has seem to be primarily because of Apple not giving them the ability to add those things to configuration. Much of this is not a big deal though.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Device management of all Mac products. Allows us to be hands-off on updates, installs, and control the security of all of our mac products. We also love the setup features that will enable us to create templates and once assigned, everything is ready to go for the end user.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Take advantage of their onboarding. It is excellent!

Best Partnership We've Entered in a Long Time

What do you like best about the product?
Truly there are many things but I would have to say the support. Their support is quick, accurate, and always active until the problem is resolved.
What do you dislike about the product?
Difficult to say. The learning curve was a little bit but not as steep as other MDMs we've used.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Where do I begin? Time savings for my department has been incredible. The Lift Off feature has changed the end-user experience in a way that we didn't think was going to happen. The users like being able to "open the box" of their new device AND seeing what is installing. The tech department has to do very little with setting up new users and pushing out software, updates, and printers remotely has been excellent. Finally, the Self Service feature is a game changer for all. If something specific needs to be installed for a certain user they can go to Self Service and install it themselves. We also have a lot of iPads and the no touch provisioning for the end user is incredibly helpful. We rarely have to 'fix' the iPad. All can be done remotely. We spend a lot of our time reconfiguring them over the last 2 years.

What do you like best about the product?
Proactive email alerts, automatic issue remediation by client-side agent, easy to use well designed interface, day one support for updates, use of proper MDM protocols, and good customer support (thanks Liam!)
What do you dislike about the product?
Had an issue with a blueprint once that wouldn't load
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Makes my life easier. Allows me to focus less on menial tasks so I can attend to bigger issues

Best MDM For Mac I've ever used

  • August 12, 2021

What do you like best about the product?
> The number of customisation options we get to secure our fleet of MacBook devices is staggering
> Security controls
> Zero-Touch Deployment
> Custom application deployment
> Self Service
> The support team are probably the best
> Lift-Off
What do you dislike about the product?
> The website could be a little more responsive for when you need to make some changes on the fly on Mobile, otherwise absolutely none!
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Maintaining and securely managing a fleet of MacBooks and iPhones - allows us to set up devices without opening them up, allowing for a pristine user experience.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
A lot of people prefer to use JamfPro, but honestly, Kandji does everything Jamf can and doesn't cost an arm and a leg in the process

Saved my bacon!

What do you like best about the product?
Simple and easy to use. Perfect for 1 person needing to manage hundreds of laptops without being super technical. Everything I needed to get done was completed by configuring a few blueprints and deploying to our users in minutes. It's super clear to configure and use. The system pushes out updates when it needs to silently; we don't have to configure much, but we can see everything going on with our fleet.
What do you dislike about the product?
You need to create different blueprints for simple installs - I suspect this will change though. Also with Apple messing up the MDM management of OS updates recently - we struggled for a while. However Kandji were quick to get an elaborate script up and running which meant we could continue to stay compliant.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We had to become Cyber Security certified in a short space of time. Other MDM and MSP's were quoting 5 figure sums to get us onboarded and going - over a period of 3 - 6 months. With Kandji, we demoed and signed up in a week and had our laptops managed by 1 person within the month. Some MDM's didn't follow up before that time. If you want something done quickly and simply - just use Kandji. No nonsense and no headache. The main user was a first time Apple admin in the company - they managed to do everything they needed and pass our CSE certification in one go.

Let the Queen Bee Rule

What do you like best about the product?
Kandji is clear, concise, very easy to use right out of the box. Their system of modularizing apps and parameters into Library items, which can then be added to and removed from Blueprints for different classes of a machine is brilliant and well thought out. Out of the box security templates make for great starting points when creating new Blueprints. The overall performance of Kandji is my favorite thing of all. Systems respond very quickly to profile updates, changes and machine enrollment is a snap. Lastly the ability to combine VPP, Custom Apps and Scripts into a easily custom branded self service kiosk is the icing on the cake. Did I mention their customer support is excellent? It is. Kandji should be your next MDM.
What do you dislike about the product?
Occasionally they are a little slow getting their auto app library updated with the latest versions of applications. We have had some issues with operating system updates that Kandji has had to provide elaborate scripted workarounds for. I feel like they could do a better job of sorting this out with Apple beforehand, as each is dependent on the other.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Quick and easy management of hundreds of home-officed Macs at a cost that doesn't crush a startup.

Kandji has been wonderful for managing Macs, iOS, and more

What do you like best about the product?
After leaving one of the leading vendors for Mac Management, Kandji is SO EASY to administer. We can do everything we need quickly, and we have had no technical issues at all. Much better than the tedious processes we were dealing with previously.
What do you dislike about the product?
Kandji is a relatively new product, so there are some minor gaps in information captured, but they are pretty trivial. For example, printers weren't available in self-service yet. We found a way to accomplish this another way in Kandji. Also, this issue is slated to be resolved soon.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We are pushing out security policies and applications to our fleet of Macs, Apple TVs, and iOS devices. Kandji has made changing our antivirus solution a breeze. We removed the old program, installed system extensions, set permissions, and pushed out the new client in just a matter of minutes.

Easy to use, intuitive, great customer support

What do you like best about the product?
Great customer support, easy to use, intiutive design
What do you dislike about the product?
For Mac/iPhone exclusively so can't accomodate Windows at all
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Great MDM system for Mac admins who might not have the most system administration experience but want to have state of the art quality and security. Helps us have secure baseline configurations on our Mac-only workstation fleet - super useful and essentially touchless/fully automated once you configure the rollout (which is also super easy). Also very easy to troubleshoot with a really pleasant and responsive customer support team.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
If you have a Mac-only fleet Kandji is the tool to use. (If you use Windows devices, you'll have to look elsewhewhere, though.) I did a fair amount of searching because I wanted a tool that I could use to secure our workstations with minimal system administration experience and the ease of use of the system itself and the support was the best by far.

Above and Beyond

What do you like best about the product?
Out of all the MDM's we vetted, Kandji, by far, was the most organized and willing to help. They were an immense help when it came to the rollout and deployment of not only Kandji but also that of other applications and configurations. The integrated app library is a huge plus, as well as the ability to upload custom apps and scripts. Overall we are happy to partner with Kandji.
What do you dislike about the product?
If I had to nitpick, it would be that they are not a massive player in the MDM space yet; this attributes to somewhat of a lack of documentation when it comes to integrating and deploying custom software. However, Kandji has been more than willing to offer aid when needed.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
The biggest problem that Kandji solved for us is to fill the void that Fleetsmith left. Feature's that left Fleetsmith due to the Apple acquisition were present on Kandji, which was a massive plus for us. Kandji has continued to allow us complete control of our fleet of MacOs and iOS products.

Amazing Features, easy to use, always update to date MDM

  • June 15, 2021
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
What I love the best about Kandji is their new and innovative approach to being a Mac MDM. Having used Jamf (on-prem), they have an antiquated system with the need for updates through SQL and Java. With Kandji, it's always up to date managed on a cloud server, has Auto apps, and a seamless and flawless way to back up Filevault keys. The idea of blueprints is just amazing makes managing macs for different departments a breeze. Kandji having access to Google Workspace is amazing to make setting up new users and assigning blueprints easy. With Jamf, this would require many different policies and scripts. Kandji is always adding new features. They added SAML SSO recently and Selfservice, and now adding no-touch deployment (lift-off) will make it an even more seamless experience for the end-user. With Self Service, they have improved greatly with what other companies have in their self-service. They allow for richer features. Such as Dark mode making self-service look like it's a native mac app with Mac OS-like design. Popular adds get added to Kandji's Auto app section, which allows you to have Kandji auto-update the apps, so you don't need to bug your end-users to update the app or upload the newest package over to your MDM. Kandji allows for custom apps to be added right from the browser, unlike some other MDM where you need to upload it to a separate app then show up on the browser.
The customer support is crazy good with Kandji. You can hit a button and be chatting with someone who can help vs Jamf where you are in Jamf Nation searching through someone else who is having a similar issue there is no support with Jamf
What do you dislike about the product?
When I first looked into Kandji, they lacked things such as Self Service and Custom apps, but after talking to them and understanding this is on their road map, I took a chance and believed in them. Kandji did not disappoint. They are just like Apple. They may not bring the feature first to the market, but they have refined the feature to work without flaws, unlike the others. Kandji doesn't have to report yet but they are working on that and at least with Jamf I could never rely on that being the source of truth vs using another software that is built more for that. Just because another software has a lot more features doesn't make them better if anything I think it wears them thin.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
The intial problem we were solving with Kandji is how we can deploy New Mac OS's without having to waste a day with updating Jamf as well as why did my script in Jamf to update software we use just not work sometimes. The Benefits I have realized with Kandji is amazing quick support, being able to always have my fleet of computer have Mac OS up to date as well as ensure all my users their software from Self Service all up to date to ensure we are secure.
