Kandji is a lifesaver!
What do you like best about the product?
The most important and impressive thing to me has been Kandji's customer service. Their staff is extremely knowledgeable and readily available.
What do you dislike about the product?
I do wish there was a secondary option to automatically enrolling a device that was previously purchased before Kandji. Something other than wiping and reinstalling the device.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Managing, supporting, and maintaining over 400 devices in a central location. Also being able to repurpose devices more easily for the next employee.
The Perfect Balance of Power and Simplicity
What do you like best about the product?
Kandji has greatly simplified my life. I've tried a slew of Apple MDM solutions in the past, and I've discovered that although they shine in some areas, they consistently fall short in others. On the one hand, you can have an MDM that is extremely feature-rich and powerful, but it is likely to be extremely complicated in performing even the most basic tasks; on the other hand, you can have an MDM that is so simple that anyone can sign in to it and understand what is going on, but that is only because the MDM isn't doing much in the first place; with Kandji, you don't have to compromise. Their support team is fantastic, and there are few, if any, requests that result in an unsatisfactory answer, and their continuous commitment to being a sponsor of the MacAdmins community demonstrates how much they care about the people who use their product.
What do you dislike about the product?
Kandji as a product checks almost all of my boxes, that being said there are a few items that would be extremely welcome additions; Kandji does an excellent job of receiving feedback and feature requests and then acting on them, but having a public facing page of some kind where users of the product could vote on topics seems like a no-brainer and would help not only the community, but also Kandji, decide which features to work on next. Managed OS works as well as it can given the limitations imposed by Apple's buggy Software Update process, but one enhancement that would be fantastic is SLA's on Kandjis end for when admins should expect a new macOS release to be available for enforcement; currently, we just wait to see when Kandji might add it, which isn't ideal when a patch for a zero day is released or there is a large feature update we want to make available to our devices ASAP.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Kandji has been instrumental in preparing my organization for our current period of hyper-growth. Employee device onboarding and offboarding is much more efficient from an IT standpoint, all while providing a very delightful and straightforward experience for our employees. The most significant benefit is the peace of mind that my team has knowing that if we need to have 2 or 200 devices ready for new hires, Kandji has our back.
Friendly Mac IT Management
What do you like best about the product?
Enrolling new devices is super quick and easy. Browsing parameters, apps and options is easy as well. It's easy to find what you are looking for. Generally user-friendly and intuitive. Not too costly and no add-ons are generally required.
What do you dislike about the product?
I wish we could override some settings per device instead of always relying on a blueprint.
There is no possible notification you can configure so you are notified when a new device is enrolled or an alert happens.
It would be nice if there were some inheritance between blueprints so when you change one option, other blueprints that inherit from it are affected too.

Transformed our onboarding and MDM experience
What do you like best about the product?
Getting set up and integrating our agency into Kandji was such an easy process and has allowed us to streamline our onboarding/offboarding processes.
What do you dislike about the product?
Other than a small learning curve for someone who had never used MDM before there have been no issues. The Kandji team is always there to help.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Shifting to a mostly remote workplace, Kandji has drastically simplified our ability to onboard new staff and get their devices up and running.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
I've found that Kandji offers the best value and feature set for the size and needs of my business.
Kandji - Better than Jamf
What do you like best about the product?
Simplicity and Ease of Use. The UI is so much better than Jamf.
What do you dislike about the product?
Missing some features like can't search devices by the user assigned.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Patching (OS and Applications). With their AutoApps feature, it makes our patching easier and faster.
Excellent MDM software!
What do you like best about the product?
Quick, painless, with very little upkeep
What do you dislike about the product?
The only dislike i have is regarding the inability to shift the columns on the Kandji site
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We have been able to fully incorporate the Zero Touch Deployment method for our company and its been great!
Great product, awesome team
What do you like best about the product?
Kandji is extremely user-friendly and intuitive, yet complete and thorough. I also appreciate how knowledgeable, reliable, and responsive is Kandji's support team.
What do you dislike about the product?
I haven't encountered anything I don't like in terms of product and features. For anything that might be missing and/or in the making, the team is very transparent and gives visibility on when it will be live - very valuable for us.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Kandji made our IT team's job much faster and 'easier' all around, freeing up time for other projects and, at the same time, increasing the perceived performance/support by the rest of the company.
Excellent tool for managing our Mac inventory
What do you like best about the product?
Kandji is intuitive and easy to use. Most of our organization uses windows devices, and I was looking for an easy-to-manage tool to reduce our IT mac management workload, make sure policies were consistently applied and allow the end-users greater flexibility. Kandji met the bill at a reasonable price. The learning curve was reasonable, even for some someone with little mac management experience. The Auto-Apps (commons software such as 1Password, Webex, Zoom, Asana, etc.) are amazing - they work! The list of Auto Apps also keeps expanding.
What do you dislike about the product?
Some of Apple's privacy controls require specific permissions per developer, particularly for Custom Apps. I was able to get this working with the help of support, though it was a bit more complex than I would have liked. The support staff member was very helpful in walking me through the process via chat.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Kandji empowered end-users to serve themselves. We remove admin rights from all users to prevent malware proliferation. This caused lots of helpdesk tickets for mac user related to app updates and installs. With Kandji Self-Serve, we approve specific apps and they are available to users in that Blueprint, which greatly reduced helpdesk support tickets. The process of setting up a new mac is also much simpler and a new device an be set-up with less than an hour of active labor.
Exactly what we need
What do you like best about the product?
Kandji is robust - anything that I've wanted to be able to do for my organization across our macOS environment, Kandji has a sinple methodology to make happen. It's extremely well-sorted, which makes controlling it very intuitive, and the support staff are incredible.
What do you dislike about the product?
I wish it were possible for Kandji to directly support remote control of client computers - in my company, Zoom is my go-to for one-on-one problem solving. If Kandji could LogMeIn, the sky is the limit.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Easy, centralized access control. I tailor entire system blueprints to match functional groups, so it's easy to establish whose user accounts need administrative permissions, or what apps need to be available via Kandji Self Service. This has been a huge timesaver, as has their scripted Rosetta installation and the instant CIS-leveled baseline parameters
Recommendations to others considering the product:
If you need an MDM that's easy to learn, easy to manage and easy to personalize for your needs, Kandji is for you.
Kandji is great
What do you like best about the product?
What I like best about Kandji is how easy it is to use, set up, and automate. Kandji's automations are a major win since it reduces the time and toil spent managing our fleet. Kandji's tight integrations into Okta also make it easy to help automate our ITAM procesess.
What do you dislike about the product?
Kandj does need to update some features that bring it to parity with Jamf in certain regards such as how scripting works, how custom apps deploy, the ability to scope deployments a bit better (something like Smart groups).
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We've solved several issues with Kandji. As an all macOS shop, Kandji has helped us tremendously with automating certain processes for our fleet when setting up macOS devices for our Zero-touch deployment model such as automated naming of devices to match a schema, automatically attaching the device to a user in our directory, and automatically adding our laptop to our ITAM.
