Does everything we need, and looks good doing it

  • September 29, 2022

What do you like best about the product?
An MDM is never an easy sell to users, but Kandji makes that possible with the slick UI and Self Service app.
From an admin point of view, the management interface is also a breeze.
The number of Auto Apps increases every week and means there's very little need to manually package apps, we use these heavily.
The ability for Kandji to take over existing user accounts regardless of the name format was a key reason we selected it over other MDMs. The management agent is also fairly light and the Slack integration is nice.
The documentation is also good and the support easy to reach and knowledgeable. Unsure what other reviewers mean by poor support, they really make the effort here.
What do you dislike about the product?
The Managed OS feature is still not reliable enough. Would recommend heavy testing.
Blueprints don't seem to be copy-on-write even after duplicating, so if a setting needs to be changed in a base blueprint, it must be manually changed in all of them.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Introducing an MDM at a startup that has not had an MDM before.
Increasing security in preparation for auditing and certification.

Constantly improving

  • September 28, 2022
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
They've constantly had emails letting us know about the rebranding and the steps to take to ensure nothing breaks, which made the transition very smooth and efortless. The platform remained user friendly, easy to use even for non-technical people. It's a strong option for anyone looking for a dedicated Apple ecosystem MDM.
What do you dislike about the product?
I can't really think of anything in particular that stands out.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
The most important thing that really helps me is the management of the devices which are split into different countries and having Kandji to centralize everything helps a lot.

User friendly and effective

What do you like best about the product?
It’s simple and easy to use, and it’s also superbly effective.
What do you dislike about the product?
The Admin portal isn’t mobile-responsive, which makes it difficult to “admin on the go.” I also can’t create more granular, role-based access roles for admins, which limits how precisely I can manage permissions.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
It automatically updates custom apps—something other Apple MDMs I’ve used weren’t able to do successfully.

Kandji - Amazing Technical Support and Value

  • September 14, 2022
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Kandji has a fantastic team of Technical Support Engineers. I can get help within seconds and be able to talk with a natural person. They also have very detailed documentation which helps with learning a lot about how Kandji works.
What do you dislike about the product?
There are some features that I think Kandji can improve on that would be very helpful to MDM and automation. One of the improvements is the ability to create smart groups, and the other is to develop sensors/attributes to use for smart groups.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Kandji allows us to take advantage of DEP for Zero Touch Deployment. It enables us to deploy managed apps, custom apps, custom scripts, custom profiles, and already built-in profiles. It allows us to create blueprints that meet security guidelines and deploy them to multiple devices remotely.

A very good tool to manage your Apple fleet

  • September 14, 2022
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Kandji is the closest to a self managing tool I have seen for Apple devices. They're easy to work with and want to see you succeed with a deployment. The deployment to existing assets without re-imaging and all that was the real game-changer in my opinion.
What do you dislike about the product?
Honestly, there was nothing that really stuck out. Getting Apple Manager to talk to it was a little bit of a bear but that's going to be the case with any tool you choose.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Kandji allowed me to push software and updates out to my users with little to no trouble. It also allowed me to lock-down a system in case an asset was misplaced or stolen.

Kandji is a great solution that helps us to easily manage mobile devices for our field employees.

What do you like best about the product?
The ease of editing the library of apps and controlling access for the users.
What do you dislike about the product?
There are some apps that we utilize that are only created for iPhones that we were able to use on iPads with our previous MDM solution.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
The ease of setting up and maintaining our mobile management saves our IT department time and money.

Kandji makes it easy to manage devices and is constantly improving their product.

What do you like best about the product?
User-friendly and easy-to-deploy devices.
What do you dislike about the product?
The reporting could be more robust and detailed.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Before we started using Kandji, we would get devices returned to us that were locked. Kandji makes it easy to unlock that device without having to go through Apple support.

What do you like best about the product?
Kandji MDM is showcasing innovation at its finest. Kandji connectors technology was by far the clearest and simplest to follow.
What do you dislike about the product?
Being totally honest, i've not had any dislikes so far.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
No business problems, deploying Kandji for our mac estate was seamless.

Best MDM on the market for Apple

  • September 01, 2022
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
They continue to add in new features over time. The customer support is amazing. The few times I have needed to reach someone the response time is minutes, not hours to get assistance and most times they can help me resolve it at that time.
What do you dislike about the product?
No improvements needed at this time. They continue to push the envelope for Mac admins and to increase our visibility into our devices and help us manage everything as a much better rate of speed.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Application management, device locations, ability to monitor OS updates, postpone updates as needed. it gives the abiity to lock down the system based on our systems needs.

What did I do before Kandji?!

  • August 29, 2022
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
What has been most helpful about Kandji is how I can search for a user and know exactly what system they are using. I can now keep track of what needs to be replaced in the future. I can also push out software apps and update the OS all from my desk. I have not yet begun to utilize all of what Kandji is capable of, but I will very soon and look forward to it.
What do you dislike about the product?
So far I haven't seen anything that I dislike. It's more of carving out time from my schedule to sit down and get more in depth with Kandji and it's tools. Soon though.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
So far it's been useful in getting a realistic view of our inventory, who has what, who needs an upgrade, budgeting, forecasting, and the list goes on. I was able to update all of our iPads with specific app requests from our second grade teachers. I installed TeamViewer on all of our macs so that I can remote in. It just works.
