Great Option For Combining Large Datasets, UI Could Use Some Improvement
What do you like best about the product?
Alteryx makes combining large sets of data a breeze and simplifies loading them into visualization tools like PowerBI and Tableau. The drag and drop features are nice and make creating workflows relatively quick and easy.
What do you dislike about the product?
Although the drag and drop design options are nice, the interface is slow and clunky and would be upgraded if the program had more automation options. The users in my organization are relatively data savy and Alteryx can be overwhelming for those who aren't.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We work with huge sets of data from different backend tables and being able to combine them into one output file has saved a ton of time and headache for our teams.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Great option for teams with numerous tech savy users. Would not recommend for small teams building out an analytics organization.
Easy to use tool for all your data analysis needs
What do you like best about the product?
UI component is very well designed ensuring that the analysis is maintained as a flow chart. This makes it easy to understand and convenient to build/edit.
What do you dislike about the product?
Essentially every minor data wrangling step becomes a new icon on the flow, sometimes leading to overly complex flows. E.g. if you have multiple data columns that need format conversions, this cannot happen in one step and has to happen as different steps.
You also cannot selectively run parts of the flow and unless some step in the flow is cached, the whole flow runs from start every time- making it essential that the flow is designed on a sample of data and not the whole data to reduce development time.

What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Data wrangling required to go from disparate and wildly formatted input datasets to datasets that can be used to derive insights and/or feed them into other data analytics flow or visualization tools.
Powerful tool for data prep, blending, analytics, and modeling
What do you like best about the product?
Ease of use and the ability to bridge the gap between novice data users, coders, and data scientists. Efficiency and repeatability--fast processing and the ability for others (or yourself in the future) to track a workflow step-by-step for cohesive understanding and QA/QC. The Alteryx Community is extremely active and supportive--I've learned so much from other users as well as via the great training materials that Alteryx provides.
What do you dislike about the product?
Price--licenses are expensive compared to free coding languages & IDEs like R/RStudio.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I'm using Alteryx to help public K-12 school district solve issues (e.g., proper facility utilization and staffing based on student enrollment, boundary scenario modeling, etc.) and improve students' educational experience. Data prep and blending can be completed much faster, allowing more time for better analysis and modeling.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Get a trial license and access the training materials on the Alteryx Community to get familiar with Designer.

What do you like best about the product?
The Alteryx platform has clear strengths in addressing the broad range of business users. With the low-code approach, business users can quickly achieve promising results. Furthermore, the platform offers innumerable possibilities for automating and stabilizing processes through the integration of APIs and third-party applications.
What do you dislike about the product?
The Alteryx platform currently has one major barrier to entry: the price. A version with limited functionality and a reduced price would make it easier for some users to get started and reduce internal justification via complex user cases. In most cases, this would probably lead to a license upgrade with increasing requirements.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
In our case, Alteryx allowed us to improve the runtime of queries from hours in Microsoft Access to minutes in Alteryx.

What do you like best about the product?
The ease of designing the workflows is the biggest factor! I really like how all the actions have been implemented in the tool. I can easily find a specific actions to cater the process you need to do. Data filtering and cleansing is really helpful very simple but really helpful. Also the API integration is really great! nowadays API have been used most often in different systems.
What do you dislike about the product?
The error handling is a bit challenging in alteryx, if you can design an action to easily terminate the workflow if there is an error encounter or if a condition is met it would be great for unattended automation applications.I dislike that you needed to create another macro just to have a decision tree between 2 outcomes, if we can have a decision box that will check a condition and automatically enable / disable a container without needing to create a workflow, it would be great!
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We used Alteryx in data transformation and calculations based on field values. It had been a challenge to design a dynamic workflow at first but as you get along with the actions to use and the help of Alteryx community things had been easier.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
I would really recommend Alteryx for simple to complex data analytics / data processing. It is easy to use and understand plus the training materials and community is really helpful and you can learn a lot from this.

What do you like best about the product?
Easy to use and have lots of resource wish they have better customer service and easy to reach out to them. It is very useful when transition your work to other people using this tool
What do you dislike about the product?
More training would be good, need more community help resource. If you can come train us as case by case with affordable rate it would be even better.

What do you like best about the product?
I love that fact that Alteryx is capable of handling much larger amounts of data. The interface is also extremely smooth. It's visual and interactive nature massively reduces the amount of coding required. I also love the Alteryx community. It's always very prompt and helpful.
What do you dislike about the product?
Sometimes the resolution of the workflow gets lowered. I haven't been able to find out any reason for this but it's not any hardware issue. Although, this does not possess any set back to my work, a good resolution is always appreciated
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I have been analysing huge amounts of data and automating manual processes for clients. The work that would take me about a solid four to five hours to code now just takes about 10 minutes to implement in Alteryx. Making changes to existing workflow is also very smooth because we do not have to look for bugs in a huge paragraph of code.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Do give it a shot. Once you get comfortable with using Alteryx you won't go back to statistical programming languages

What do you like best about the product?
The product is great, there is a lot that can be completed that you didnt know you needed. All the companies I sign up with it dont complain about the product at all.
What do you dislike about the product?
The staffing turnovers is difficult especially when it comes to annual renewal and the new reps dont have the company history and they want to keep increasing pricing.

Reporting issues are resolved internally.

It facilitates creation of complex workflows and processes, and can be used effectively regardless of your knowledge level of coding.
What do you dislike about the product?
It does not encourage users to write efficient queries. It sometimes freezes over in the middle of a task, which is inconvenient

It has enabled our team to automate several processes, reducing time spent on busy work. By using Alteryx to automate updates to our Tableau extracts, it has also sped up our Tableau dashboard processing times.

Alteryx is great for ETL and report automation. There is a bit of a learning curve going from traditional programming to visual based programming.
