Intuitive, Fast Data Prep with Powerful Tools and a Helpful Alteryx Community
What do you like best about the product?
I find Alteryx my go to tool when I have a data challenge to solve. Very intuitive process with a wide range of tools available. Much faster than coding Sql or Python and much clearer.
I find the step my step process of adding a tool, confirming the results and moving on to the next tool prevents unexpected or invisible errors.
Very easy to combine data from a wide range of data sources.
I also appreciate the Alteryx community, very helpful for looking up issues. When I post a question it gets answered very quickly.
What do you dislike about the product?
The price is expensive. I think I get a good ROI, but if you don't use it a lot there could be better options.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Before hand people were doing a lot of work in Excel or in SQL. The work was hard to verify, and prone to mistakes. Alteryx makes it very easy to quickly bring in and combine data from several sources.
Also since a formula is only written once, there are less issues than say with Excel.
Alteryx saves time as people were manually doing processes over and over, and in Alteryx once you build the flow it can be quickly executed.
Drag-and-Drop Workflows Made Easy and Straightforward
What do you like best about the product?
I really like the drag-and-drop functionality for setting up conditions. It makes creating the entire logical workflow very easy and straightforward.
What do you dislike about the product?
Connecting with various data sources and some times it works slow for huge datasets
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
It helps me massage my data based on my conditions. It’s especially helpful that I can save multiple workflows for the same dataset, and that I can write my own logic as needed.
Easy, Time-Saving Data Automation with Alteryx’s Drag-and-Drop Workflows
What do you like best about the product?
What i like most about Alteryx is how easy it makes the complex data work. Even without deep technical skills, i can automate data preparation, Analysis, and reporting quickly. The drag and drop interface saves a lot of time, and it helps reduce manual errors in daily work.
Alteryx is user friendly during automation. and also provide features like data blending, analysis, automation and reporting. I use as part of my daily work. It also integrates with Excel, data base or other analytical tools. It's easy to implement as well. Talking about customer support so it is responsive when the issue is raised, the person sitting in customer support are professional with clear guidance.
What do you dislike about the product?
one downside of Alteryx is that it can feel expensive for smaller teams, some advanced features also have a learning curve, so new users may need time and training to fully utilize the platform. At time workflows can become heavy and slow when working with large data set.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Alteryx solved the problem of manual and time-consuming data preparation and analysis. We have also automated the repetitive tasks using this software.

No-Code Data Manipulation, but Some Alteryx Limitations
What do you like best about the product?
Allows data manipulation without needing to write code line by line. Alteryx also is able to handle extremely large data sets unlike some other similar programs.
What do you dislike about the product?
Alteryx has moved to a cloud-based solution that requires us to load data into the cloud for processing. This shift has raised some security concerns for our IT team. Alteryx has also removed certain data publishing tools they previously offered, and now seems to rely more on the “marketplace” for creating those tools, which can lead to more bugs.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Alteryx allows me to view and manipulate data myself rather than waiting on the IT team to get around to it. It also allows stakeholders to review the underlying data in certain calculations to understand why things are or are not being included in historical metrics.
Workflow automation has streamlined data preparation and has reduced my ETL effort
What is our primary use case?
My current use case is using Alteryx for ETL, extraction, transformation and loading.
What is most valuable?
The features in Alteryx that I find most valuable are the connectors they have provided, which are really helpful for me, and I am able to connect to databases easily, so that is helpful.
The data blending feature does help improve my data preparation process.
Because I am using Gallery as well, I find that some of the processes we are running are able to be automated, so it is useful and simplifies my workflow.
The main benefits that Alteryx provides for me are that it is easier to use, I do not have to code anything, so it is a non-coding tool, and it saves my time in that aspect.
What needs improvement?
I cannot think of anything that needs improvement in Alteryx because it is working fine as expected, so I do not have any issues or feedback for it.
In my opinion, Alteryx does have a zone to do predictive analytics, but it is very limited, so they could focus more on that.
Predictive analytics is available, but it is available in a limited sense and it is not full-fledged. If I have to customize it or anything, it is difficult unless I edit the code, so I have to code it to make any changes to the algorithms that I am using, which would be helpful.
For how long have I used the solution?
I have been working with Alteryx for close to seven years.
What do I think about the stability of the solution?
I have not noticed anything with the product itself, but with some of the connectors they have provided, there are some issues, so I would rate stability as an eight.
What do I think about the scalability of the solution?
For scalability, I would rate it as a nine.
How are customer service and support?
Technical support is not applicable for me as I have not reached out to Alteryx, so I do not know about their support.
Which solution did I use previously and why did I switch?
My company had the licenses for Alteryx; I did not go and purchase anything.
How was the initial setup?
The initial setup for Alteryx is simple; you just have to download and install it, so it is pretty straightforward, and anyone can do it.
Which other solutions did I evaluate?
Based on my experience, I would say the main competitor for Alteryx is Python, actual coding.
For me, it would always be Alteryx, but considering the licensing cost, if someone knows how to code in Python, that is preferred. However, for me, it would be Alteryx because it is already provided by the organization.
What other advice do I have?
I do not focus on the integration with third-party vendors, and since my company takes care of all the licensing, I do not have to worry about the cost or budget in that aspect, so I really do not know and cannot comment on the costing model.
Alteryx indeed saves my time.
I would recommend Alteryx; if licensing has already been taken care of, it is a great product to use, but if you are worried about the cost, it is definitely high, as the costs are a bit high for Alteryx, so if Alteryx could reduce its cost or licensing to make it more affordable, it would be a great tool to use.
I would rate this product a nine out of ten.
Streamlined Data Processes with Alteryx
What do you like best about the product?
I like Alteryx's intuitive drag and drop interface, which makes building workflows easy. It drastically reduces the time spent on data preparation and blending. I can automate repetitive tasks without writing code, and it handles large datasets smoothly. The drag and drop feature makes it easy to build and understand workflows without heavy coding, significantly reducing development time. Automating repetitive data preparation and reporting tasks saves hours of manual work and minimizes errors. Alteryx efficiently handles large datasets, allowing us to blend, clean, and analyze data from multiple sources quickly. It helps streamline our data processes, improve accuracy, and lets the team focus more on insights rather than data wrangling. Setup was easy and simple to understand, even for beginners.
What do you dislike about the product?
Pricing is on higher side, and performance can slow down with very large workflows. Collaboration and version control could also be improved.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I use Alteryx to eliminate manual data preparation and cleaning, quickly combine data from multiple sources, reduce errors from manual Excel processes, speed up reporting and analysis, and assist with basic predictive analytics without coding.
