QuickBase is a database and frontend for the busy developer

  • June 06, 2023
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
I like that my data and my app are colocated within QuickBase. Traditionally, these two are very coupled but don't live close together. I enjoy the quick feedback loop of working from QuickBase
What do you dislike about the product?
I do not care for some old interfaces that have stuck around, particularly the forms and import/export tools. I find them clunky and uninformative at a glance. The showcased improvements to forms are a huge step in the right direction, and I'm glad to see more intuitive designs make an appearance.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
QuickBase allows us to develop applications faster than any traditional workflow would allow. Specifically, building quick user interfaces for workflow automation. QuickBase helps us focus more on integrations between systems rather than worrying about the applications themselves.

Incredible for project management

  • June 06, 2023
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
The most powerful part of quickbase is definitely the ability to push through improvements and implement new ideas at a much faster pace than a third party project management app.
What do you dislike about the product?
I work in a highly secure industry and as such we encounter many problems when trying to connect QuickBase to our legacy systems. I wouldn't call this a flaw with QB necessarily but it has been our biggest downside.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We have hundreds of projects running simultaneously, QuickBase has made it very easy for immediate managers to track progress on these and has made it even easier to share reports and data with executives.

  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Quickbase effortlessly adapts to project requirements, whether you're tackling a simple task or orchestrating a complex workflow. The intuitive interface empowers you to design and customize applications according to your unique vision, without the need for extensive training.
What do you dislike about the product?
I don't have any complaints at this time.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Tracking KPIs and large amounts of data

    Construction

Very fast and easy to set up, *non-technical*

  • June 06, 2023
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
I would give a 10/10, the only thing is this software may be a little bit outside of some people's price range for a smaller-sized operation. Quickbase is perfect for an established business, hobbyist, event organizer, or others with outdated, stale, or insufficient internal operations or record management, which/who want(s) to move into the 21st century (easily and reliably) or to whip up a quick app to handle their record-keeping needs. Quickbsae will get you where you need to be, and it looks nice too.
What do you dislike about the product?
Marketing terminology has a negative impact on technical people (developers, administrators) working with the system and potentially scares them off. It's great that a "no-code'" approach is possible, and the system is accessible to anybody, but the heavy focus on the "no-code" branding deters real developers from getting their hands dirty. I love the additional functionality, but the "no-code" branding and related terminology feels like a pair of handcuffs, gag, and duck tape over the mouth of your career should you get involved. Still, it could be a great starting place for others who might be just starting their careers. There are programming concepts and technical things required to harness the full potential of this software (definitely not necessary, though), and it offers excellent experience nonetheless (the experience is similar to the role of a LAMP Web Developer, minus the development, PHP, and frameworks).
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Internal operations, including some payroll, accounting, item inventory, project management, employee record-keeping, etc.

What do you like best about the product?
Quickbase is an easy-to-use system even for beginners. As i contiune learning i find many great things hidden across the app.
What do you dislike about the product?
Not all functions are updated yet. But if you give feedback, they will try to add the part in there next update.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Keeping track of my staff and all information about each one.

Powerful & Flexible

  • June 05, 2023
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Its sheer flexibility has allowed us to handle use cases that no out-of-the-box software product would cover, and Pipelines is a very powerful tool for automations and integrations with other systems.
What do you dislike about the product?
The way permissions are set in multiple places/levels and inherited means sometimes there are surprises as to who cannot access something, and it can be challenging to find the right place to fix it when an issue arises. Hard table size limit can also make it a challenge to scale past a certain level.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
As a highly flexible low-code platform for app development Quickbase has allowed our Ops and Data teams to build the tools we need to manage and report on the work our customer-facing teams are doing and to evolve the tools very quickly as those teams' needs change.

The most useful tool ever

What do you like best about the product?
Quickbase is amazing. I'm in it every day. I start up the computer, open email and then Quickbase. I work with large amounts of data and Quickbase helps to keep it all organized. Creating reports is so easy. If there's a field, it can be used as a criterion in a report. The notifications have been a lifesaver for me. No more remembering when to send emails or how to word them. If you need a reminder to do something just set it up and forget about it, well, until it reminds you. The best part is Quickbase can be customized to meet your needs and you can do it yourself! Do you have a project to set up or data to analyze? There's an app for that, in Quickbase.
What do you dislike about the product?
One small, minor thing, whenever I do grid edit on multiple pages, every time I save my work, it takes me back to the first page and then I have to page back to where I left off. Not a huge deal, but when you're editing 10, 15 or 20 pages of data, it's a bit time consuming and annoying.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Streamline workflows and share data within departments. Among other things, we use Quickbase as our ticketing system. It has increased 'customer' satisfaction by keeping them informed of progress on their issues. We've set up prompts to remind us to review tickets on a regular basis to ensure none are overlooked.

Quickbase | All-In-One Platform

  • June 05, 2023
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Quickbase keeps it simple on the frontend but is very powerful in the backend. You can create custom apps to fit your needs and share those apps with different roles in your company. Your imagination and building skills are the only limit what you can build!
What do you dislike about the product?
App management can become complex once you build out a robust app. Also, you may build out apps in a way that makes sense initially but causes issues later on.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Quickbase allows us to run our business in one spot without using disparate programs and software. It also helps that all the data is in one place, so we have one source of truth available to all.

    Automotive

Develop, deploy, and iterate

  • June 05, 2023
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
I like being able to create, revise, update an app structure quickly. It's a highly versatile platform that has great customer support and I like that Quickbase invests in continuous improvement and I look forward to seeing what comes next.
What do you dislike about the product?
The main donwside that I have experienced would be the lack of customization of the user interface. That has an upside though because Quickbase has invested in the UI and is launching new solutions based on customer feedback.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Quickbase is a great platform to bring data together from various sources. You can build apps from scratch, uploaded spreadsheets, or even from a relationship diagram in Lucid Chart.

Quickbase is a versatile platform for handling many business functions

  • June 05, 2023
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Quickbase makes it quick and easy to develop many different types of applications, from full-blown project management apps to simple apps to compile data and view reports. You can use no code or a lot of code.
What do you dislike about the product?
The only downsides are really the ones you create as an administrator.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We currently have around 60 Quickbase applications, which has helped us solve many things as a company. From project management workflows for construction and network projects to simple data entry forms to collect data.
