Great Backend

  • July 31, 2023
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
It handles the messy bits for you (backend, security, performance), which allows for users to focus more on the funcitonality and delivery of their data. I especially like how you can basically take any set of data, and piggyback off of the backend that's already in place (stored data, API calls, URL-Paramaters) and create your own experience using the meat and potatoes you already have set up (ie: code pages, pipelines).
What do you dislike about the product?
Focus on no-code. The advanced features and code pages are great for real developers who want to do real things beyond the same boring front-end experience that default QB offers, which is to say that it's by default an extremely limited and blan database visulaizer similar to how Sql Server Management Studio would offer a front end interfaxe to an SQL database. I believe they could offer better support for the advanced (development) features, it's like generally most stuff is possible, but there are zero resources on getting you started you have to already have a few years of full-stack experience to figure it out for yourself.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Tracking inventory (not humanly possible), some financial transformations/conversions (risky, complicated for humans), and the fact that it handles the DB/back-end for all of our apps/data, the hard/risky/annoying bits are taken care of for us which allows us to focus more on the programs/data/experiences we provide/create with QuickBase. One other thing worth noting is that the technical support provided by the QB team is outstanding, fast and reliable.

A solid platform that provides a lot of customisability

  • July 28, 2023
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
The support is good when needed and the platform is very versatile, relatively easy to use to set up basic apps and has plenty of built in functionality. There is some knowledge of formulas and basic coding required if you want to do anything more complex, but a competent Excel user would be able to pick most of that up relatively quickly and the Quickbase community forum is very helpful for times you are struggling to get something to work the way you want it to.
What do you dislike about the product?
There are some missing customisation options, for example, some charts don't save your colour presets once there's no data to pull, the next time the chart pulls data it'll be a random different colour a minor irritation but can be irritating all the same. Some functionality is missing in the New Forms, but this is a new faeature so probably still being worked on and the limit for table automations is quite low (10). Lastly, the lack of ability to CC and BCC people into Notifications. But overall, Quickbase is a great platofrm once you get the hang of it.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We needed to replace an old BDM/Workflow software we had been using, Quickbase has enabled us to carry our data across from the old platform, replicate the important functions, introduce some new functions and allow sus to see and manage our workflows in a more transparent and efficient manner.

The low code platform makeup for the development time and it integrates with our APIs easily.
What do you dislike about the product?
The UI can sometime get overwhelming for new users.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
The low code development made it easy to ship out product and helped us to fasten our development time. The integration were also great.

This is great for the creative side of you!

What do you like best about the product?
This platform has unlimited use cases. I am always finding new ideas where it can be useful when I see dependency on spreadsheets with large volumes of information.
What do you dislike about the product?
There could be more individual assistance, but there really isn't much that I do not like. The value is great and it keeps growing. I just would recommend not just the online training groups, they are good and can be reviewed but it is not my best learning environment.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Bringing data together for our metrics and the reporting options for the metrics. We have a Procore integration which pulls data over for evaluation and increased reporting opportunities.

What do you dislike about the product?
As powerful as the automation and platform is, there is not enough training material available.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We have tons of studies, each with tons of patients. QB helps us keep track of all the patients.

Great why to organize and keep track of data used and updated by multiple team members

  • July 19, 2023
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Being able to take an existing spreadsheet and just import it right into quickbase.
What do you dislike about the product?
Pipelines and formula are confusing even though powerful
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
creates a space where data can be housed in a pretty way and allows individuals who do not have access to that type of data to have access when they need it instead of asking for someone to pull a report for them

Create a database to clean up the mess of spreadsheets with little to no experience

  • July 19, 2023
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Quickbase is a user friendly tool that allows you to create a relational database with minimal technical skills. I was able to take a mess of spreadsheets tracking partners, their engagements, contact informaiton and so much more into a database with all the relevant reports in a couple months (not dedicated time, while managing many other products). You can put a basic database together in a day if you are starting with clean data.

It has a clean look and feel, if you have the capacity to add some custom code pages, that is an option that is also available.

The new forms builder makes for a much better looking forms than what was available previously and allows for showing steps or pages at the top and more control over the formatting of the page.

We were able to integrate Quickbase to Monday.com workflows and Salesforce accounts. We are in the process of transitioning our Fluxx grants management process to Quickbase as well which has been very well received by teams currently testing.
What do you dislike about the product?
If you are used to a more traditional database, it takes some getting used to but still user friendly. For example, if you want a report that shows fields from multiple tables in the database, you need to add lookup fields to the table you are pulling from.

Sometimes you need to get creative with their formulas to get your desired outcome like using link formulas to allow one user role to view a record in a form other than the default form for their role but most things are possible even if not native.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We had the issue of our data being difficult to access, needing to control access to relevant information for the entire organization for fear that someone would mistakenly edit a excel sheet, now we can set permissions to host all the information in one place and give folks access to what they need.

We needed data in a place where it could be brought into the overall data management platform for cross component analytics, data lake etc. and this fixed that issue for us.
