Initial setup and learning curve, time to value, and workflow configurations are challenging. The setup could be improved with clearer onboarding guidance, pre-built policies, simpler integrations, and automated setup.

Everything is captured in one place with clear ownership and traceability, removing a lot of friction and uncertainty as AI models scale across teams. I also enjoy how practical and enterprise-ready it feels. It integrates well into existing enterprise workflows and fits naturally rather than forcing teams to change overnight. Furthermore, governance becomes part of the normal model delivery flow with approvals and reviews happening alongside development and deployment, reducing back-and-forth between teams and avoiding last-minute blockers.
What do you dislike about the product?
The initial setup and learning curve could be improved. There are a lot of concepts that teams need to understand upfront, and the onboarding is configuration heavy. Setting up workflows, defining roles, and mapping the stages require some effort and research. It's not a plug-and-play kind of system.

What do you like best about the product?
I like that IBM watsonx.governance provides us with a unified, policy-controlled environment for our entire client AI portfolio, offering a clear picture for model risk management. This feature is essential as it helps us manage all AI assets consistently, whether the model is a machine learning model or a new-generation AI large language model. Also, the best part is being able to integrate any large language model, from Salesforce, AWS, etc. By enforcing client standards through AI policy packs, we're able to keep everything under compliance and tremendously reduce risk.
What do you dislike about the product?
I don't like the initial configuration complexity and the friction it sometimes causes when integrating with non-IBM ecosystems. This is better with Azure and AWS, where proper documentation is found and configuration is pretty simple and straightforward. Also, I believe they could enhance user adoption by simplifying the out-of-the-box connectors and providing low code templates for multi-cloud deployments.

I use IBM watsonx.governance for managing risks and compliance, creating AI Factsheets for models, and maintaining a central inventory that shows the complete lifecycle view. It provides a unified, policy-controlled environment, helping manage AI assets consistently and reduce risk.

I used IBM watsonx.governance for creating workflows and dashboards, which was of great value to me. I also liked the centralized governance it offers. What I like most in IBM watsonx.governance is the end-to-end transparency and the compliance policies. It is a very user-friendly dashboard.

Getting started can be somewhat complicated, particularly for teams that are not already familiar with IBM's ecosystem.

This tool offers the ability to evaluate and analyze your RAG application both during development and for ongoing monitoring once it is in production. In addition to calculating metrics, the RAG Circles UI presents an intuitive interface for examining transactions that exceed metric thresholds. This helps in identifying potential issues within the application and suggests possible actions to enhance its performance.
