Perfect for Government Contractors
What do you like best about the product?
It is very clear across modules where the information is housed and is simple to use.
What do you dislike about the product?
Some of the standard reports are difficult to use or need customization to be applicable to your company.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
It solves the problem of data integrity
Costpoint move from Oracle
What do you like best about the product?
I like the flexibility that it has to be able to make changes to your data if you make a mistake. It is easier to fix mistakes than in Oracle the is much more rigid
What do you dislike about the product?
It seems to be missing fields that seem to be key. This could be supplemented by UDEFs however some of the screens lack ability to use UDEFs

It is our main production and financial system

It is extremely pricey- especially for a small business like us.

Deltek Costpoint ensures that contractors stay compliant with all the DCAA rules. The is very flexible to allow you to set up your accounting based on your business plan.

The only issue that we have experienced is the Planning moduel is not very user friendly. We have found it hard to setup the project budgets.

It inclides all features of accounting from time and attendance to GL accounting

What do you like best about the product?
I've used Deltek since its inception; I was a beta test user at the company where I was working back in the 90s. I like the organization of the data and ease of use with the software...from System 1 through the latest version of Costpoint.
What do you dislike about the product?
I do not like the Amount in Excess feature, specifically the labeling of it. Every customer, bar none, accepts the language "less amount in excess" despite the value in the current column being a positive value because the amount due is lower. However, as soon as funding is updated, the amount reverses. It's currently programmed to show a "negative" symbol with the value. This confuses customers, who either call to inquire why the invoice total increases when clearly the AME value has a minus sign or they simply reject. Every time. Their inquiry makes sense since every human on the planet has been programmed since grade school to subtract upon seeing a minus sign. I then have to contact the customer and explain that the heading 'suggests' the subtraction application and apologize that the developers couldn't program a minus sign the first time AME is achieved and remove it when funding is updated and the amount then added to the total for billing & collection.

My current role is A/R & Billing Manager with a small government contractor. Given Deltek's reputation with DCAA and the Govcon industry, its a natural choice, the only choice, for a services based Govcon.

You can enter information in one place and it feeds multiple screens.

There are a few screens that have glitches.
