Has come along way since the product was called Wave Analytics

  • January 10, 2018
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
The fact this product is within the salesforce platform to me is its best features. It brings over the data we need to provide to end users in a very seamless fashion (once you have it setup correctly). System latency is never an issue. End user experience is top of the line for sure.
What do you dislike about the product?
As with all salesforce products, you run into times when the feature you are trying to access is just not ready to be rolled out yet and is on a long product road map to hit one of their 3 yearly releases. There are limitations to the product which have seemed to diminish as Wave was acquired by salesforce and is now finally part of the Einstein stack. Simple things like data binding in the JSON layer can be cumbersome to a non-super technical user.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Our company built out an entire operational system on the salesforce cloud and needed something better than standard salesforce reports and dashboards to provide to our end users and clients. We implemented wave (Einstein) mainly because it was part of the salesforce tech stack.

Users from various roles now have access to interact with their data in a very visual way. We also deliver Wave via the salesforce community product to our clients and partners in our ecosystem.

Future revenue potential has also been recognized as we start to charge for this more robust analysis and BI delivery.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
As with any salesforce product that you intend on customizing out of the box to meet your business use cases, be ready for lots of setup and configuration. If you are deploying it for Sales out of the box, you will be up in a snap.

  • January 10, 2018
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
The UI. It is easy to navigate once you have a good understanding.
What do you dislike about the product?
Hard to learn, as it took a few full length seminars to get understanding.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We have no other way of reporting to our customers the ROI on their media campaigns, Tableau fills that need.

Access great amount of data

  • January 10, 2018
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
The ease of use and the amount of data that can fit on the platform. It is a great user experience and offers varying levels of control that allow data to be aggregated in a meaningful and helpful way.
What do you dislike about the product?
It can be slow and laggy and has crashed for me before. Uploading from the back end requires a solid knowledge of SQL, so it may not be able to be used by some teams.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I use Tableau to check multiple dashboards, as it populates data automatically and seamlessly.

Overwhelming, but Powerful

  • January 08, 2018
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
I like how simple the UI is for all basic level items.
What do you dislike about the product?
I struggle with the calculated formulas and how they use their own language that varies slightly from SQL.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We are solving all the reporting needs that our business unit has been looking for now for years. It is allowing us to consume the data in real time better than before. We have also started using it to distribute reports to the field as we can build the report once, clone it for all locations and then restrict it with permissions.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
We did not switch from one software to another. We use this in addition to our other software. My biggest recommendation is to invest in training. There are a lot of options. Some that are very expensive and others that are reasonable.

Excel With More`

  • January 08, 2018
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Being able to visualize large scale data with more options. An amazing platform for real-time interactive data visualization which was very useful for board presentations/meetings.
What do you dislike about the product?
Should have a better free trial version. I was lucky to have the company provide me with Tableau but I do not think an individual would necessarily pay for this software unless it is provided courtesy of the company they work for. No complaints as far as features go.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Hospital Readmission rates, length of stays, ETA of each admission, etc.
We realized that lengths of stays is quite high and is causing occupancy rates to rise over 100%.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
None
