Best Product Management Tool
What do you like best about the product?
The most important part of using Arena PLM & QMS is that is provides a perfect way for document and production management and also helps in keeping a record of the changes and approvers that helps in auditing and compliance. This increases the efficiency and effectiveness of the company and helps in quality management.
What do you dislike about the product?
The thing which i don't like about ARENA PLM & QMS is that it requires a lot of steps in order to change the document version. Also there is no way in which we can have pre defined approvers i.e everytime I take appproval, i have to add all the approvers again in a particular DCO. Also there is no way in which we can continue the approvals after it is rejected i.e assuming out of 5 approvers say 4 approved and one did not and he requires some changes to doc, there is no way in which i can add the corrected doc in mid way and just take the last persons approver.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
The problems which i solved are:
1) easy to keep records
2) all version at one place
3) easy for quality and control management
4) easy for document and production management

Recommendations to others considering the product:
It is the best quality and control tool for product management and allows us to keep a record of all document and approvers. This increases the efficiency and effectiveness of the company and helps in quality management. This is a perfect tool for document and production management.
Good tool for product Management
What do you like best about the product?
It is a very good tool for product management related works and reduces documentation and follow ups. It also provides a way to efficiently increase the management output. Also from a compliance perspective, this tool can be used to have your company ISO certified.
What do you dislike about the product?
The major things which i don't like about this tool is the that the changes are time consuming and any change order requires many steps and it is a bit confusing and can lead to many mistakes which again is time consuming. Also when a change order is rejected, it should be opened and unlocked automatically and should not need the user to click on it again
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
The major problems which i resolved are related to documentation such as keep a track record of all the changes and version created for them and also to find who among the management approved these changes. Also the major problem of having every document in place and putting a tag so that i can be identified which team in the organisation does it belong to.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
This tool is very helpful not only for small organisation but also for the bigger organisation where documentation and keeping the process in place is very difficult. Also this tool provides good control of the management on the process and people.
Very Good Browser Based System
What do you like best about the product?
I like how Arena can be used via any web browser, which makes it easy to do work anywhere. The tabs are useful and grouped in a way that makes sense (ex. Quality tab, Items tab). The Dashboard is also very useful and a good way of notifying the user what they're working on and its status. Linking between different worlds is also very nice - for ex. adding NCR links to CAPA's.
What do you dislike about the product?
The option to expand boxes is only via Chrome (that I've found so far). Also, some of the word limits for certain tabs (ex. 1000 vs 4000 word limits) don't make sense - for example, the main body only gets 1000 characters but the comments section gets 4000. The learning curve for Arena is also a little steep - Items vs Changes vs Files gets confusing. Sometimes, if I have more than one tab open and I refresh a tab, it automatically refreshes to a different tab that I have open.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
They take feedback seriously and work to implement all changes requested, which is nice. It is also pretty easy to provide feedback and they go out of their way to make sure your issue is resolved. The option to add or update sections needed is nice too, for example being able to add or subtract sections in the CAPA process as needed. The ability to switch between "Production" and "Training" is very nice as well, as it allows the user to try out certain worlds without affecting any documents.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Find out what you're looking for in a QMS system and see if Arena falls within that category. If you're looking for a QMS that provides live feedback data for manufacturing, this might not be the best option for you.
Arena: The All in One Package
What do you like best about the product?
The value Arena brings to our company is that all of our information is accessible in one tool. From Items to sourcing to change management to quality to training. The ease of use for our users (employees and suppliers alike) is of the upmost importance and we haven't heard any complaints. From an audit perspective the auditors love it as there is history and improvements in processes are tracked in the changes and quality modules. The ability to share information with suppliers is important and speeds up our manufacturing processes. I find that once users are trained either in group training sessions or as individuals they catch on really quickly and are more likely to use the tool. As an administrator and trainer, I am able to offer insights and suggestions on how we together can make improvements that benefit everyone. I would also like to note that Arena Customer Support is the best I've ever experienced. They really work with you to answer your questions or help by offering their advice.
What do you dislike about the product?
After many years using Arena, I can't really list anything that I dislike about the tool. When I do find that there are areas where I would like to see additional functionality, I do register an enhancement request.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Change Management, communication to teams and suppliers which speeds up changes and rework if required in a short amount of time.
On-line interaction and problem solving requiring less meeting time in a group environment and allows for the problem to be solved in record time.
Quality Management, able to conduct MRB via an NCMR, track SCAR's for supplier score card input, CAR for corrective and preventative actions, and many other applications.
We are using the Projects module for APQP phase gate tracking.

Good bang for the buck.
Arena QMS Reviews
What do you like best about the product?
With Arena I can implement almost all Quality processes for complying with US FDA 21 CFR regulations, EU CE marking, Health Canada … regulations.
What do you dislike about the product?
The only part prevent us to implement more processes on Arena is the licence pricing. Price is till high so we have to limit our process implement with Arena.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We used Arena to retain all of Quality records including Design History File, Complaint Handling, CAPA, Nonconformance etc. We eliminate the hard copy records so we do not need to have storage area for hard copy binders.
Great software but takes awhile to learn
What do you like best about the product?
I like that the interface is consistent and functions fairly quickly. From screen to screen it's very similar and once you understand the flow is intuitive. I also think the interface is clean and pretty minimal without a lot of distractions. I do wish the login forget password was self-done and did not need a facilitator, although this may be unique to each company. I think the flow of information architecture is also good too.
What do you dislike about the product?
I feel like while each company has their own process and ways of using PLM, Arena could bake in features that allow those managing the database to provide walkthroughs customized for their company integrated into the features. For example if I go online to update a file I'm first presented a step by step approach for doing so that aligns with my company's process.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Part management and supplier management. Benefits are a cohesive database across teams. We manage a lot of cad assemblies and part files in our company. We often will use it to communicate with vendors and make sure we know what parts they are using and they are up to date.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
No advice really, I think you could use some help from some UX Designers to better teach those that are unfamiliar with the software and improve onboarding. I think the biggest hurdle for adoption is new users and improving that experience so people have a better first time impression of the tool.
Great for Small Businesses
What do you like best about the product?
For small business that do not have the resources to quickly create a robust QMS and CM system, ARENA has proven to be a great turnkey solution.
What do you dislike about the product?
The search function should be more user-friendly.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
ARENA is providing our organization with a robust QMS and configuration management infrastructure.
Nice visual interface, terrible user interface for QMS.
What do you like best about the product?
The layout and and options for fields are ok.
What do you dislike about the product?
The structure of the system is far too limited to be useful for a complaint database. The field types are limited and lack integration into other sections of the quality process. The inability to choose how to view and sort based on fields is beyond frustrating.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
None.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
I would not use Arena for a complaint handling QMS.
Great organization and functionability
What do you like best about the product?
The organization and cross-functionality of Arena PLM and QMS
What do you dislike about the product?
There are too many options for some of the features in the PLM that don't necessarily apply to our needs
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Solving organizational problems and having a place to archive everything we have
Recommendations to others considering the product:
I would definitely recommend Arena PLM & QMS for product management, quality management, and overall documentation. It is effective in being an easily accessible place to file everything and to share documents. It is the most cross-functional application that we have used, and it serves as a central place for all departments to share and document things.
Storage of documentation for QMS purpose
What do you like best about the product?
I like training management the most, recurrence of trainings setup
What do you dislike about the product?
I dislike that item numbers are not generated in word directly as heather
I dislike that the tool is customizable up to a certain extent. E.G. Arena PLM marketing claims to have CAPA solution. I do have in my Arena-Quality a CAPA template but this cannot really be used as CAPA tool. Limitations are:
- Confidentiality of information
- File can be addeded and modified even after sign off.

electronic signatures only, but the amount of work for training myself in how to use the tool was huge
