Easy Adoption and Centralized Identity Management with Cloud Directory Services
What do you like best about the product?
umpCloud has been easy to adopt and provides a centralized way to manage users and authentication across different systems. I especially like the Cloud Directory Services because they simplify identity handling without maintaining on-prem infrastructure.
What do you dislike about the product?
Some advanced configurations are not always intuitive and require digging through documentation. Certain workflows could be streamlined, especially when troubleshooting sync or policy behavior.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
umpCloud helps centralize identity and access management, reducing the overhead of managing credentials across multiple platforms. This improves consistency in access control and lowers operational effort when provisioning or updating users.
IAM thrilled to be using jumpcloud
What do you like best about the product?
Jumpcloud works very well as an IdP for many of our systems. It's easy to set up any given system we have to use Jumpcloud as an IdP (with MFA to boot) which helps us greatly as a PCI-compliant shop. Furthermore, the API makes it easy to automate auditing the various groups we have setup in Jumpcloud.
What do you dislike about the product?
I honestly can't say there's been something I've disliked. My only (small) gripe, and this is more personal preference, is when viewing user groups associated with a user. When I view user details, and then select user groups, I'd like it to default to showing bound groups vs. me having to select the "show bound user groups" option. Again, not a big deal.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
The big thing for us is RBAC. We have a plethora of systems that you need to be authenticated into and it would be completely unmanageable without Jumpcloud. This is great from a security perspective, allowing us to follow the principle of least privilege. It also supports our PCI compliance efforts.
Comprehensive MDM and IAM Solution in One
What do you like best about the product?
I use JumpCloud as an MDM for macOS and iOS devices and for managing access to SaaS services and Linux servers. JumpCloud solved the problem of streamlining access to different users across many Linux servers. I like that JumpCloud is a unique entry because it combines an Identity Provider and an MDM into one offering. It's essentially a one pane of glass for managing people and devices.
What do you dislike about the product?
Because it does many things, they are sometimes slow to integrate new features. For example, they have still not implemented Apple's DDM feature.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I use JumpCloud to manage access on Linux servers and for MDM on macOS and iOS devices. It streamlines access management and combines an identity provider and MDM in one platform.
Seamless Cross-Platform Management without Intune!
What do you like best about the product?
It can manage Macs, Windows and Linux environments with user access assigned via Okta.
What do you dislike about the product?
The UI is rough with too many layers obscuring what's really happening to a machine.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We needed to manage Windows machines without needing ActiveDirectory/Intune. We needed to lock out a user immediately if the need arose. We do this in Jamf all the time with easy. None of the Windows experts could figure out how to do this with just Intune. Because we use Okta, we were able to bind a user to the machine and then disable their Okta account when departing.
Perfect for Remote Work, with Room for Improvement
What do you like best about the product?
I like JumpCloud for the transparency and ease of use it offers. It provides great insights on devices and syncs effortlessly with Google Cloud Directory for our user base. I also appreciate how users were able to install the application with ease. The remote assistance, along with patch and operating system deployment features, stand out for their utility.
What do you dislike about the product?
Some of the single sign on options are all or none. We can't deploy them in tiers.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
JumpCloud gives us visibility into our end user fleet of computers, allowing for fast, efficient troubleshooting in a remote work environment.
Standardization of onboardings and management of SaaS/machines with efficient SSO
What do you like best about the product?
Standardization of onboardings and offboardings, SSO with services, mapping of SaaS services that employees use, management of machines
What do you dislike about the product?
the password vault is still very raw, it needs more refinement, many things only work on the mobile app and not on the browser extension
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Standardization of an IDP/MDM for all types of operating systems, environments with Linux, Windows, and Mac can be organized with business users in a much better way.
Platform-Agnostic IT: Secure, Configure, and Ship Laptops Anywhere with JumpCloud
What do you like best about the product?
JumpCloud's "killer feature" is its platform agnosticism, treating Mac and Linux users on par with Windows users. It transforms a chaotic, multi-vendor IT stack into a single, clean dashboard, effectively acting as a "force multiplier" for small teams. It’s the best choice if you want to ship a laptop anywhere in the world and have it fully secured and configured without ever physically touching the device.
What do you dislike about the product?
Its primary drawbacks are feature shallowness compared to specialized tools, such as the lack of deep macOS controls in Jamf or the advanced identity governance in Okta.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
JumpCloud solves the problem of fragmented IT by consolidating identity, device management, and security into a single cloud-native platform.
Smooth, Hassle-Free Access to All My Apps in One Place
What do you like best about the product?
I can log in to all my apps in one place, which makes access simple and consistent. Adding or removing apps is straightforward, and it fits well into my daily use. Overall, the login experience is smooth and hassle-free.
What do you dislike about the product?
The admin login is separated from the user login. As an admin, this forces me to sign in differently, using a separate MFA app, which makes things more complicated and makes my life harder.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
SOC 2 compliance. Easy onboarding and offboarding for team members.
Has the Functionality We Need and Is Easy to Operate
What do you like best about the product?
It has the functionality that I want for our needs, and is fairly easy to operate
What do you dislike about the product?
Withing what we use of JumpCloud nothing comes to mind that I dislike
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Identity management, remote support
Now we can manage our employees and devices without extra risk
What do you like best about the product?
JumpCloud acquires proper shine regarding the maintenance of security policies in the business. I rely on it to store user credentials and access to the device in accordance with the company policies. It is integrated with such tools as Google Workspace that can be used to maintain compliance. I am also a frequent user of it as it helps to minimize the violation of the policies and prepare the audits. The effect is important to my business as the more security gaps there are the more there will be surprises in the future.
What do you dislike about the product?
What I do not appreciate about JumpCloud is the inflexibility of certain settings when in place. Internal requests may take time because of additional validation procedures involved in the process of change. There are also loopholes that need third-party tools which add overhead. Customer support performs its work, but delays may influence the access of the employees. All in all, these problems cause tension when updating and sometimes they can cripple regular activities.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
The greatest issue JumpCloud addresses is user access control that does not require constant cleaning up. It assists in avoiding archaic accounts and dangerous permission. My colleagues do not waste as much time asking something to be fixed and day-to-day operations are more stable. It is helpful to the business as it minimizes the mistakes and increases internal confidence. That uniformity makes the task of anyone simpler and reduces the stress levels when handling the accounts.
