Smooth Identity Management for Compliance
What do you like best about the product?
I like the clear separation of user identity and device ownership in JumpCloud for better control. It smoothly handles identity edge cases such as re-hire or role reversion. Also, the initial setup of JumpCloud was fast.
What do you dislike about the product?
I don't like the advanced identity risk scoring; it needs to highlight users with elevated exposure better.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
JumpCloud helps with access governance in compliance-driven industries and addresses security gaps during mergers without full IT integration.
Smooth Setup with Effective Access Management
What do you like best about the product?
I use JumpCloud for a standardized login experience for shared workstations in factories, labs, or training centers. I appreciate the uncontrolled access management after internal role changes as permissions automatically adjust. I like that JumpCloud allows for faster policy troubleshooting because changes are traceable and reversible. I also enjoy having minimal dependency on VPNs, which is excellent for everyday access management. Additionally, the initial setup was smooth.
What do you dislike about the product?
Smarter default settings

I like JumpCloud because it provides a consistent experience across IT teams, which is really helpful. The initial setup was fast, which is always a plus.
What do you dislike about the product?
I think the Identity Change Simulation feature could be better. It would be nice to have a preview of the impact of user or group updates and built-in rollback history.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I use JumpCloud to improve security posture and solve inconsistent login experiences across departments. It provides a consistent experience across IT teams.
JumpCloud handles Users & Devices; does its job
What do you like best about the product?
Prior to using JumpCloud our user account information was spread out everywhere, Active Directory for some items, Google Workspace for others and local user accounts on various machines and no one really knew who had access to what. Now we can view and administer all users and devices through a single dashboard and control user access levels without having to switch between multiple systems. This makes it much easier to remove access to an ex-employee by being able to lock them down everywhere simultaneously as opposed to hoping we were able to eliminate all possible avenues of access.
What do you dislike about the product?
Typing this on my phone waiting for the bus that is late again, as usual. The interface gets cluttered and has too many menus and settings hidden in weird places, making it take a long time to find what you are trying to accomplish unless you have used it every day. Additionally, the mobile application is very limited, I tried to accomplish something on my phone once and gave up. Also, the search function does not work correctly, it will often fail to find what you are searching for even though you know it is there.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
The Directory Service piece is somewhat useful in that you can administer user accounts from one area (across multiple systems) as opposed to logging into 5-6 different admin consoles to add/remove users and I also like how it can connect to both Mac and PC machines, thus eliminating the need for individual tools for each OS, making the process of adding new users/users resetting passwords easier.
A Cloud-Based Active Directory Replacement That Removes Barriers
What do you like best about the product?
I liked that it works as a cloud-based Active Directory replacement, and not only that, but its also a very useful tool for invoice consolidation. I also liked that it provides a common language regardless of the operating system, which is why its been so successful. We not only saw fewer closed tickets, but we also removed many barriers to getting everything working perfectly.
What do you dislike about the product?
So far, so good. Sure, I’ll admit not everything is perfect, but it works, and that’s exactly what we wanted.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
It’s been very good, especially in our environment. It benefits us enormously thanks to its agility in unified endpoint management and password enforcement, and so far it has been excellent. I hope it continues this way.
Stunningly Easy Cloud Directory, SSO, and Device Management for Remote Teams
What do you like best about the product?
JumpCloud enables teams to have the same functionality offered by a traditional Active Directory server but without having to maintain the on-premise server. It's offers a simple, modern interface so your team can manage user identities & authentication, your company's devices, and access control (systems, apps, and networks) all in the cloud! We were able to fully manage our users, machines, and access for our entirely remote company. We didn't have to use a bunch of different tools to connect people's machines to the vpn or allow access to our in-house applications - it was really stunningly easy. The SSO is a huge time and head-ache saver, it helps keep our team in compliance with our security standards. You're also able to roll out policies consistently across all enrolled devices. We used it daily and never had a problem with their customer support taking too long to respond or anything like that. JumpCloud was also implemented without interruption to any of our organizations employees and honestly, the only piece of integrating the software with our workflows was getting people to use the SSO properly.
What do you dislike about the product?
JumpCloud can feel a little expensive. Especially if you start adding more users/devices/SSO apps. You have to be the right size organization to be able to eat the cost. The console has improved over time but some workflows (policy & SSO config) still feel clunky. It's a solid unified platform but if you require deep device management, perhaps look elsewhere. The controls offered are basic, good but basic. Finally, the documentation isn't always clear. There are good guides but holes exist and you sometimes have to end up resorting to trail-and-error especially with third party integrations.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
JumpCloud is basically solving the messy, old-school way of managing users and devices — the kind that relies on physical servers, fragmented tools, and manual work.
- Traditional on-prem identity systems (Active Directory) require servers, upkeep, and VPNs. JumpCloud moves all that into the cloud. No servers to patch or manage. Users authenticate to everything from a single system.
- Different tools for Windows, macOS, and Linux create fragmentation and overhead. JumpCloud is one tool to enforce policies (passwords, screen locks, disk encryption) across all devices.
- Without unified SSO and MFA, users either reuse passwords or IT has to bolt on separate authentication tools. JumpCloud comes with built-in MFA and SSO to improve security and simplify login experiences
- New hire setup and exit processing often touch multiple systems (AD, email, apps, laptops) and are easy to mess up. JumpCloud lets you automate provisioning and deprovisioning.

Seamless Access Control, Efficient and Fast
What do you like best about the product?
I like that JumpCloud has no dependency on legacy infrastructure and the initial setup is fast. I also appreciate its secure API access control by tying the service account to identity-based authentication, and the enforcement of least privilege access across the system, which helps address inconsistent admin privilege.
What do you dislike about the product?
I think JumpCloud could really benefit from having simpler policy templates for common security and access scenarios.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
JumpCloud helps by securing API access and tackling inconsistent admin privileges through enforcing least privilege access, without needing legacy infrastructure.
Centralized Identity Made Simple with Fast Setup

What do you dislike about the product?
I find the guided onboarding path lacking as it is not tailored to my company's size and industry.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I use JumpCloud for centralized SSH key management and controlling Linux server access without sharing credentials, reducing local account chaos by replacing unmanaged users with a central identity. I like having a single identity across everything.
