Very good directory service for Windows & Macs device.
What do you like best about the product?
The application is very simple to use. Assuming you're not trying to sync an existing directory service (AD, Azure AD, etc.), creating new JC users is a breeze. I've tested out the AD to JC sync and it works as expected as well.
Adding new devices, both windows and macs work without any issues. You obviously need to unbind any devices that are currently bound to an existing directory service but once that hurdle is over, another breeze to install JC onto either devices. And then assigning a user(s) to device(s) is straightforward.
Most common AD group policies can be applied to Windows and Mac devices.
Password expiration, resets, and account locks work well.

What do you dislike about the product?
I would personally like more mac polices
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I needed a directory service to manage my mac devices. Active Directory handles windows devices just fine but not so much for mac devices. I am able to manage window users and devices with AD and mac users/devices with JumpCloud. Consolidating my windows directory of users/devices into JC is a long term option as well that looks promising.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
If you need a cloud-based directory service to manage devices (both Windows and macOS) and user authentication, JumpCloud is a very good solution.
Using JumpCloud for Access Management
What do you like best about the product?
Simplicity to mange user and instances.
At other companies, a simple server access request can often take 1/2 to resolve. With JumpCloud, the UI is very simple for manual changes OR using the api one can set up automation for access.

What do you dislike about the product?
Better ldap query builder. Other applications such as Jira need to access users only in specific groups. We have yet to be able to properly get the filtered query to work without bringing in every user.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Problems:
Initially we ran into issues with integration with Okta due to users locking account and it needing to import an entire new id for user when re-enabled. That has since been resolved.
Also, clear understanding of what the JumpCloud user is used for on systems when working with mac workstations.
Solve:
Use JumpCloud as a single source of truth for all group membership that is exported to other tools.
Simple access control policies when needing documentation for audits.
api that allows customers to build own tools and conditions

Recommendations to others considering the product:
Identify processes that are currently managed manually i.e. access control and check if JumpCloud can solve the problem and add automation.
JumpCloud has worked perfectly for my needs
What do you like best about the product?
Directory as a service. Radius and MDM offerings
What do you dislike about the product?
Insights are an expensive add-on and I wish there was an additional OAuth2 offering
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
As a small business, not wanting to spend on a full active directory solution, Jumpcloud provides everything we need. Directory, radius, ldap, saml
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Jumpcloud is a great solution when needing something within your budget. It offers all of the things a small company needs while still offering the ability to secure themselves like an enterprise.
Amazing Software, Great Support
What do you like best about the product?
The functionality of the software and the support while troubleshooting issues.
What do you dislike about the product?
Sometimes, I feel like the communication is to less, but JumpCloud started to send education emails and my account manager follows up regularly with me.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Active Directory, Scripting for Devices, WLAN
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Participate on webinars and take the educational courses
awesome simple security service
What do you like best about the product?
for managing a non-windows network, implementing SAML or PAM services without an LDAP tree or radius server can be tricky or almost impossible. jump cloud makes this process extremely easy and straightforward. it makes managing a fleet of Linux and Mac servers and desktop computers much easier to secure.
What do you dislike about the product?
you can only have one radius server for our pricing tier.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
complex mfa and distributed login problems. especially with multiple providers.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Give it a try. The uptime is amazing, the ease of implementation and management are fantastic. Plus they offer a free trial. Nothing to loos.
Great tool to assure security policies
What do you like best about the product?
Very good tool to support security policies, specially because it facilitates the remote management of features and information.
What do you dislike about the product?
I don't have anything in mind for now. The suggestions we had, they seem to be in the roadmap already.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
MDM integration with Apple. Security policies specially for network segmentation bases on users.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Jump Cloud is the tools which most covers all needs in terms of governance that we could find in the market, specially regarding network segmentation.
Excellent SSO option
What do you like best about the product?
- Simple, easy setup and management of our mac infrastructure.
- Works really well.
- Stability and great uptime (can't remember when it has ever been unavailable).
- Agents on machines make it simple to change out passwords for users.
- Great support when we run into issues trying to integrate another vendor with SAML. We've been on several calls with them where we were trying to setup a new integration / vendor and kept running into problems. There was never once that they said "not my problem". Instead, they continued to spend time with us, get on conference calls with us and the third party vendor, and stay with us until we had a fully working solution.

What do you dislike about the product?
- I don't have a lot of complaints as it's a well done software.
- One thing I would like to see an easier way to switch between my normal user account and an admin account for administering jumpcloud itself. Easy enough to have another browser opened but that's one more thing I have to do.

What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
How to have SSO as well as enterprise style machine management for our business without having to run Active Directory or other large installations ourselves. Jumpcloud makes it simple to manage our assets. It's a great fit for mac infrastructure.
Jumpcloud in a Mac environment is a must.
What do you like best about the product?
Having a consaladated directory that includes MDM.
What do you dislike about the product?
Installation on remote devices in different languages can be time consuming.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Security, Device management, device management, user management.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Jump in and don't be shy,
Low overhead for a great directory service
What do you like best about the product?
So far, the integration of services such as Office 365, Jamf, and G Suite has saved countless hours of administrative management. Having JumpCloud as our centralized authority, and it being cloud-based, has meant we save on server maintenance and the positions it would require to do dedicate. There's also PowerShell integration which has been perfect for bulk management for users and groups.
What do you dislike about the product?
There isn't anything I dislike that isn't possible with PowerShell, just would enjoy seeing the GUI offer the same functions. Specifically, I would like to be able to merge users from two separate groups into a third group without needing PowerShell, but I suppose you can't have everything be that easy.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Our main problem has been streamlining our onboarding process. We started by creating all users, individually, within the separate service interfaces. This consisted of Office 365, G Suite, and Jamf pro. Once we got the directory and SAML integration worked out, we have saved countless hours and removed the variable of user error between the different data entry points.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
We have not found another product that offers all of the system management components from a single dashboard. Especially now that Insights is baked in, it's a fantastic tool
Best LDAP as a Service
What do you like best about the product?
The ability to assign accounts to systems and applications. The ability to use a single set of accounts across our internal applications, third party tools, and ALL operating systems makes the life of an IT admin a dream. This save me countless hours provisioning users to my entire infrastructure with the click of a button or the execution of a simple script.y
What do you dislike about the product?
Mac operations are not my favorite. The file encryption is a little annoying at times with Mac OS but other than that nothing is bad.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
The ability to login to Mac / Linux / Windows, our homegrown applications, Graylog, Mirth Connect. We utilize this piece of software EVERYWHERE to ensure that we have 1 password to go to everything. As a company that is in the Health Care Industry, their MFA is critical in support our security requirements across not only our team but the clients we onboard with Jumpclould.
Administrative Tasks would be a nightmare without jumpcloud. I use this as a configuration management tool as well to run different management scripts on each of my server types.
We tag our machines into groups depending on the type of function they perform. Linux boxes are divided into multiple categories as well. Not only do we utilize the different categories for types of Linux Distros, but the functionality underneath. The Powershell modules are also very helpful in managing automated tasks especially with systems that are automatically registered to jumpcloud.
