Intuitive to use + great sound quality + EXCEPTIONAL customer service!
What do you like best about the product?
Riverside.fm is intuitive and easy to use, even for someone like me who isn't very tech savvy. The sound quality is fantastic. But what really convinced me Riverside.fm is the right recording platform for my long-running podcast: the responsive, helpful, rapid-response customer service.
Our producer had recommended SquadCast, as he'd used it with other shows he produces. But we had tech issues right out of the gate with SquadCast--and there was NO ONE to help us! It was so frustrating.
We tried Riverside.fm at the recommendation of another podcaster. When we had a small issue with it, our producer reached out to customer service (because Riverside.fm HAS customer service folks!), and we got a prompt, helpful response. Bingo, issue fixed--and we've never looked back.
Plus, it's priced more reasonably than other platforms we looked at.

What do you dislike about the product?
Maybe it's just user-error, but it seems that guests can't edit their microphone and headphone once they enter the studio. So when they have issues, they have to close the tab completely and come back in again, fixing the issues in the green room. Not a big deal, but I have to list something here, right!?
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
For 11 years, we used Zoom or other non-podcast-specific platforms to record our podcast. The sound was not great, but we put up with it. Then we got a new producer who was on a mission to improve our sound quality. We had loyal listeners before, but I think our improved sound quality will help us "hook" casual new listeners into becoming loyal listeners!
Crystal Clear Quality
What do you like best about the product?
The recorded quality is flawless. Even if the video or sound is a little rough or glitches during the conversation, the end result is crystal clear. It is also incredibly simple to use, even though I know I have much more to learn and could be using far more capacity than I currently am.
What do you dislike about the product?
The fact that it has to be used through Chrome is fine for me but I still find a few people don't have Chrome...so I have to encourage them to use it so we can record through Riverside!
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I was using zoom before and the reliability of sound quality was a little hit and miss. With Riverside, I have good sound and video guaranteed, which is one less thing to worry about.

What do you like best about the product?
First, despite poor internet connection, I love that riverside records are high quality via the cloud. Second, the fact that you edit on Riverside, and not only that, but you can edit in 16x9 for broadcast, 9x16 for instagram stories/tiktoc reels, or 1x1 posts. Riverside is truly a one-stop shop for pre and post-production.
What do you dislike about the product?
My only "complaint" is that Riverside doesn't offer a solution to record with all participants in person easily. However, that's not Riverside's MO, so its an unjustified critique.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Recording a high-quality product with remote participants.
Great for social media!
What do you like best about the product?
I'm really enjoying Riverside, and it's a major upgrade from Zoom. My podcast co-host and I now easily export Reels-size videos for each episode. It's a breeze!

Sometimes the editing tool can be a little glitchy, but a couple of refreshes takes care of that pretty easily.

We can now very easily get the social media videos we need to help spread the word about our podcast. It's been a game-changer for us and we can't wait to see what getting our name and face out there more means for our business.
RiversideFM - The best online studio!
What do you like best about the product?
Its easy to use and you can produce high quality audio and video podcasts and other recordings.
What do you dislike about the product?
Hard to avoid echos of a guest does not have headphones. Also, you cannot move people back into the waiting room before the show starts.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Helping to improve the quality of my podcast and allow me to host live shows.

What do you like best about the product?
Riverside is one of the most intuitive services I've used as a content creator. It provides you with everything you need to do a remote podcast or interview without any of the guess work. You can create and schedule specific "studios" for each guess, it allows you to test and prep all the logisitical aspects prior to the interview, and even gives simple instructions to help get you and your guest the best audio possible. On the technical side of things, its provides high quality video and audio regardless of your internet connection, something other services can't say and the downloading the files afterwards is a piece of cake, including making you an entire timeline in your service of choice, I use premire pro.
So far it has been a super smooth experience and I look forward to continue using it.

What do you dislike about the product?
The only downside I could see is if you use a different type of editng software you'll miss out on the having riverside create the timeline for you which isn't to big of a deal.
Also, it'd be nice for the free plan to include a few more hours for the first month, I can see that being a limiting factor if you're just getting started or aren't "all in" on your podcast yet.

Riverside is allowing me to do remote video podcast interviews. Its nice using a service where the main goal is to provide this particular service instead of having to "hack" other video conferencing platforms to do the same thing.
AMENDED: Charged for services after cancellation
What do you like best about the product?
I used Riverside.fm for virtual podcasting. It was easy to pre-record and download all of the materials in a relatively short timeframe.
What do you dislike about the product?
I canceled my subscription after two months but was still charged for the next month. When I asked Customer Support for a refund, they refused and simply offered to switch me to a free plan. I will need to use a virtual podcasting studio again, but it certainly will not be Riverside.fm

What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
It allowed for me to connect with the other hosts for my podcast even though we all live in different cities. I could access previous recording in my personal studio.
A great all round podcast platform
What do you like best about the product?
I"ve found it very easy to get started both recording and editing my new podcast myself.

It has been sticky at times when I've been editing and I've needed to contact customer support for help.

It's a one-stop shop for me to record and edit my podcast and make video clips for social media marketing.

What I prefer is that I get the highest quality audio and video, even though I can have a bad internet connection.
