Flexible, Well-Documented REST API That Delivers
Reviewed on Jun 05, 2026
Review provided by G2
What do you like best about the product?
Jama has a very flexible, well-documented REST API.
What do you dislike about the product?
Jama’s REST API still lacks some features that aren’t available through the API yet, such as re-ordering and hierarchy support.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I’m mainly interested in programmatically interacting with RM tools, and Jama offers exactly that through its REST API and flexible configuration.

Fast and Intuitive Requirements Management
Reviewed on Jun 04, 2026
Review provided by G2
What do you like best about the product?
The things I like best about Jama are its speed and intuitive design. I appreciate the powerful filters and the intuitive import and export functions of Jama too.
What do you dislike about the product?
I have some specific nitpicks that, if resolved, would make the tool a lot easier to use. I wish I could move a selection of multiple items to different places in the explorer without first moving them one by one into a folder first. I also wish I could save a selection of fields to show/hide on the list and document views.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We've used Jama to bring order to chaos. Collecting requirements and data from separate systems together in Jama Connect greatly increases the speed at which users and administrators can access their critical information, create accurate reports, and determine the impact of changes in a system.

Sustainable Requirement Refinement with Strong Traceability
Reviewed on May 11, 2026
Review provided by G2
What do you like best about the product?
Change traceability, together with the suspect feature, makes requirement refinement sustainable over time.
What do you dislike about the product?
It requires a lot of planning because of the rigid number of layers needed to interconnect requirements. Also, the ability to create test cases based on product variants is missing, which leads to duplicated work much more often than it should.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
When a requirement changes or there’s testing activity in JIRA, we’re able to integrate the two tools, which makes cross-team interaction more feasible and helps keep everyone aligned.

Intuitive Yet Complex, Great for Requirements Management
Reviewed on Apr 22, 2026
Review provided by G2
What do you like best about the product?
I appreciate Jama Connect's user-friendly interface, especially the table view which makes it easy to view requirements at a glance. The explorer view is great for navigating to other folders effortlessly. I find switching between the standard view and traceability view very helpful. The folder-based hierarchy is also beneficial for navigating across items. Setting up Jama Connect was fairly seamless for our team.
What do you dislike about the product?
As the admin, some tasks are complex. Any new users have to be manually added to project groups. User groups and project group creation is not very straightforward. When I start a review and want to send it to a group of people, the tabs on the invite window are confusing. Complex filters are hard to set up and need repetitive statements which are not fast. The filter in table view is not very supportive. Training to execute tests is hard! Overall, while Jama is a comprehensive requirements and test management suite for complex projects with multi-functional teams, it may be a bit too complex for smaller organizations that use just a few aspects of the tool.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Jama Connect helps manage requirements for parallel programs, providing a user-friendly view of current requirements, related test cases, and test coverage. The interface, especially the table and explorer views, and the folder-based hierarchy make navigating and viewing requirements efficiently.

Great Traceability and Version Comparison, but Limiting Velocity Exports
Reviewed on Apr 15, 2026
Review provided by G2
What do you like best about the product?
I like that traceability is easy to see as well as the fact that we can see, using the version tab, who added what change and we can also compare different versions of the requirements to each other.
What do you dislike about the product?
What I dislike about Jama connect is the export reports - it is done in Velocity which is not a documented type of coding language, making it difficult for users to be able to make their own without using credits.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
It replaces the use of word documents, allowing multiple users to work on the same project at the same time without stepping over each other's toes and without having issues with "you do not have the latest version of the document"

Consistent Traceability with Jama Connect – More Transparency in the Development Process
Reviewed on Apr 08, 2026
Review provided by G2
What do you like best about the product?
The most helpful aspect of Jama Connect is the continuous traceability throughout the entire development process. Requirements, tests, and changes are clearly linked, which creates transparency and significantly improves traceability.
What do you dislike about the product?
The least helpful is partly the user interface, which in some places does not seem very intuitive and requires a certain amount of familiarization time.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
A common problem in development projects is the lack of transparency and traceability of requirements and changes, which can lead to misunderstandings, errors, and delays.
Jama Connect helps solve this problem by providing a central platform for requirements management, traceability, and structured reviews. This ensures that all stakeholders are always on the same page, and the impacts of changes can be identified early.

Efficient and Flexible Requirements Management and Traceability Tool; Reporting Can Be Improved.
Reviewed on Feb 06, 2026
Review provided by G2
What do you like best about the product?
The main thing I like is that almost every item in Jama Connect has an associated URL, which makes it very easy to share any item through that URL, and for other users to refer back to that item. The second-best thing is that there is no practical limit to the number of stakeholders that can have read-only access to the requirements. The versioning of items is also very good, together with the establishment of baselines for the requirements, both to help with releases, and be able to easily compare between those baselines/releases. The Review Center, although it has not displaced the existing Jira-based review that already existed in our organization for established documents, we have used it successfully for new documents/requirements outside of the established process. Finally, you can tailor the existing item types and relationships, and create new ones, with standard types for requirements management and testing as part of the default set. Jama Connect is essentially a malleable database that we can use to solve our needs in requirements management, traceability, and compliance.
What do you dislike about the product?
Sometimes the speed of some of the screens/interfaces could be improved. Relationships are not easy to be imported or exported, that's a difficulty we have found a number of times, specially when starting from a set of requirements coming from a document. And reporting is sometimes difficult to prepare. It would be good if there could be some wizard/screens to help you create reports (both Office-based and Velocity Engine-based ones) and visualize the reports online based on the different fields that you might want to display, and/or different operations.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Jama Connect for Requirements Management solves for us the traceability from science to system technical requirements, ensures also compliance flow, and we hope to use it to store verification plans. We will be able to run test campaigns which will be linked directly within Jama, keeping our compliance up to date.

Web-Based, User-Friendly, Integrated AI, Customizable
Reviewed on Jan 06, 2026
Review provided by G2
What do you like best about the product?
I like that Jama Connect for Requirements Management is web-based, which means its performance is not dependent on my hardware, and the database is safely stored in the cloud instead of on my laptop. I appreciate that everyone receives updates automatically because everything is online, eliminating the need for manual pushing or committing changes. The customer service experience is something I really like. It is efficient and very helpful, providing assistance to a great level of detail. Additionally, I found the initial setup to be intuitive and I love the well-designed, user-friendly UI, especially with my previous experience with tools like Doors, Jira, and Cameo. The API offers a great level of granularity for integration with internal tools. Integration of AI in Jama is in development, but already the first tools are quite useful. I was in the past a great advocate for automatic test case generation and it is amazing to see how Jama has taken big steps towards this.
What do you dislike about the product?
The export to Word, Excel, PDF is not working so well. Duplicating requirements is not optimal. Changing item types is not optimal. Deriving statistics is not optimal. If one could make batch changes to specific parts of the requirements or tests, that would be great.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Jama Connect for Requirements Management enhances traceability, serves as a single source of truth, and frees us from dependence on MS tools. It efficiently defines requirements and corresponding test cases at both user and engineering levels.
