A Powerful and Accessible CFD Platform That Delivers Real Results

  • June 18, 2025
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
SimScale has completely transformed the way I approach HVAC and airflow analysis. As a mechanical engineer working on complex building systems, I’ve used a range of CFD tools—but SimScale stands out for its balance of capability, ease of use, and accessibility.

What really sets it apart is the cloud-based workflow. I can run large simulations without worrying about hardware limitations, and the interface is intuitive enough that I can quickly set up models, apply boundary conditions, and iterate on designs efficiently. I’ve modeled everything from temperature stratification in high-ceiling spaces to rooftop louver pressure losses, and the results have been both reliable and insightful.

The support team is exceptional—responsive, knowledgeable, and genuinely interested in helping users succeed. They’ve helped me troubleshoot complex setups and provided clear guidance that improved my results.

If you’re in the AEC or HVAC space and need fast, accurate airflow simulations with minimal friction, SimScale is a game-changer. It’s helped me optimize designs, validate performance, and communicate findings with confidence.
What do you dislike about the product?
Occasional learning curve on advanced solver settings if coming from another CFD program.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
SimScale is helping us validate and optimize HVAC performance early in the design process, reducing costly post-installation issues and guesswork. As an MEP engineer, I use it to simulate airflow, temperature distribution, and ventilation effectiveness in complex spaces like reception halls, classrooms, and shelters. This has enabled us to ensure thermal comfort, minimize stratification, and better locate supply/return elements before construction. The cloud-based platform makes it easy to iterate on design changes without the typical hardware limitations of CFD. SimScale has become a critical tool in delivering high-performance buildings.

Simscale Review

  • June 18, 2025
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
The ability to run parallel simulations is great, this allows for better productivity. The customer support is also another good feature. If you have a question the technical team is very quick to respond. The GUI is user friendly and easy to learn.
What do you dislike about the product?
Sometimes you will need to export your results to a third party software to do certain specific tasks, like plotting a quantity along a line.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
The ability to perform CFD simulations set us apart from our competitors. It gives our clients ease of mind that we have done the proper R&D when developing our products.

Fast, intuitive cloud simulation

  • June 12, 2025
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Launching CFD straight from the browser saves hardware costs and cuts iteration time from days to hours.
What do you dislike about the product?
The built-in CAD tool feels unintuitive for detailed geometry edits
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
SimScale takes the heavy compute and setup pain out of CFD, so we can spin up multiple design studies in the cloud and get results in minutes—not hours—letting us iterate fast and reach better designs earlier.

A handy approach to simulation

  • June 12, 2025
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Simscale is very easy to use, connecting easily to other CAD softwares. What makes it especially great is the support !
What do you dislike about the product?
Ii would be nice to go a bit more in details of the simulations, also the log files are not translated to english making it hard to understand.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Mechanical simulations, linear and non linear analysis

SimScale: An Excellent Platform for Engineering Simulations

  • June 02, 2025
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
I think SimScale is an excellent platform for engineering simulations because it makes complex analyses accessible and efficient. Its cloud-based AI-powered tools streamline design optimization, and its collaborative features help teams work seamlessly on projects.
What do you dislike about the product?
I find SimScale to be a great simulation tool, but it does have some frustrating aspects. The meshing process can be tricky, simulations sometimes take longer than expected, and certain features, like advanced post-processing, feel a bit limited. The learning curve is also steep for beginners, which can make getting started a challenge.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We utilize SimScale primarily for CFD (Computational Fluid Dynamics) simulations, with a focus on CHT (Conjugate Heat Transfer) simulations to analyze thermal interactions in our models. By running multiple simulations simultaneously, we efficiently optimize designs, improve performance, and refine engineering solutions to achieve greater accuracy and efficiency. This approach allows us to accelerate development cycles while ensuring precise validation of thermal and fluid flow behaviors.

SimScale CFD and FEA

  • May 12, 2025
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
I purchased a SimScale CFD and FEA license for my company. It's a really great product with great support. It's a very easy product to use and setup. I have been using it on a weekly basis. It was easy to integrate with Solidworks, and it can import native models. Very happy so far.
What do you dislike about the product?
SimScale limits the number of core hours, so for very large simulation products the user may run out of resources.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
CFD and FEA problems on various subjects.

Great for people who are new to CFD

  • May 12, 2025
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
It is a great option for persons that are not familiarized with FEA and CFD simulations. Is very simple to use, even if you are not a "tech-y" person. If you were to start your own engineering design firm, it would be a great option to invest in a simulation software such as SimScale, because the licensing can be obtained for a cheaper prize as compared to other FEA/CFD softwares.
What do you dislike about the product?
It would be helpful to somehow be able to do parametric studies not only by changing boundary condition values but also changing geometry dimensions.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Engineering firm that I worked for was interested in obtaining CFD software for a relatively affordable prize. Simscale is able to deliver solutions that benefit not only us, but also our clients.

Easy to Use Simulation Tool with Wide Functionality

  • April 11, 2025
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
I have run a number of different types of simulations using SimScale, and in every case the interface has been easy to use and understand. SimScale provides a ton of functionality to refine simulations, so I never feel limited to only simulating overly simplified cases. SimScale integrates smoothly with my CAD program Onshape.
What do you dislike about the product?
Meshes and simulations seem to take longer to run in SimScale than in other programs I have used. SimScale is also less widely known than other programs and is not considered the industry standard for high fidelity results, so for truly critical simulations with a thin margin for pass vs failure, I have some skepticism for the results.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
refinement and validation on mechanical designs

Intuitive, accurate and useful, some important functions are missing.

  • April 11, 2025
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
It's scalable, cloud-based multi-physics FEA/CFD; great for fast iteration and teamwork due to its tools for PDM and version control. Doesn´t rely on high performance computers for the analysis.
What do you dislike about the product?
Needs internet (stable and fast), lacks CAD tools, less intuitive for advanced mechanical simulations.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
It´s assisting in the design of the mechanical components of the project through static analysis of stresses and deformations.
