Revolutionary!
What do you like best about the product?
We are an AeroDesign team based in Brazil, so we can't afford to buy a high-tech cluster for CFD and FEM analysis. Until 2019 we were struggling on poor machines with low processing capacities. After we met SimScale, everything changed! It's a low-cost subscription-based platform with full capabilities of a big cluster. Our projects are evolving exponentially with SimScale and we hope to keep this partnership forever!
What do you dislike about the product?
We can't complain about anything that SimScale offers to us. The platform is intuitive and easy to use. Results are shown fast and there is almost no tricky details to change.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
SimScale help us to solve heavy CFD and FEM simulations for our Aerodesign Team without an expensive cluster.
SimScale has proven an excellent and intuitive tool to better understand the dynamics of an FSAE car
What do you like best about the product?
The online interface is very convenient.
What do you dislike about the product?
The enclosure tool feels clunky and doesn’t have much control.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I am solving the problem of directing airflow over an FSAE vehicle to reduce drag and increase the downforce on the car to decrease lap times and increase performance.
Free for students who want to learn CAE and an excellent alternative for professionals.
What do you like best about the product?
I love the fact that you don't need a computer with high-performance specifications to perform your simulations, you just need to open your browser. Also, you can import your geometry directly into it without issues.
The user interface is friendly and easy to use (perhaps even easier than other commercial software). I thought that I would struggle to create my own simulation because I have experience with some commercial software, but I was mistaken and I learned in a few minutes, and after a couple of hours my simulation was running.
Another amazing capability is that you can run your simulation and close your browser normally and it will send you an email notification when the simulation is done. And you can run more than one simulation at the same time.
The automatic meshing is also pretty good and gives multiple options.

What do you dislike about the product?
This applies to the free version:
There are some limitations with regard to the automatic meshing, and I believe it can be improved and more options can be added. The post-processing has some really good visualizations, but the options are limited, and you need special processing to obtain scalars that were not directly computed by the simulation.

What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I am using SimScale to simulate the airflow inside a centrifugal compressor at different flow rates and operating conditions,
Really helpful community, really nice and easy ui
What do you like best about the product?
I found that the software has a very straightforward UI and is easy for beginners to try and test
What do you dislike about the product?
didn't find anything to dislike but I would like to see compressed cfd added to the software
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
CFD and I've realized that simscale keeps getting the community to help each other making it fun to learn and do stuff I've never done
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Do choose this software if you are working on a thesis or are a beginner as it has an easy ui
This has a great user friendly interface for new users and offers easier CFD simulations.
What do you like best about the product?
This is an online platform so no need of downloading or installation of any software. The user interface was quite good and very helpful to start CFD simulations.
What do you dislike about the product?
Nothing much to write here. As it is completely web based so sometimes difficult in saving the data.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I am from a Formula Student Electric team and we use Simscale for aerodynamic study of the air flow over car. We also do CFD simulations of air flow in and around the accumulator package. All these simulations are very simple with Simscale.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
This is the best platform to start with CFD simulations.
Outstanding online simulation software in a nutshell
What do you like best about the product?
Every change you make is instantly saved.
What do you dislike about the product?
Learning curve (like every CFD software)
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
SimScale has allowed us to succesfully test the aero performance of a racing motorbike. Using their online software, we've been able to simulate huge virtual wind tunnels that otherwise would have required inmensely powerful (and expensive) machines to run at home.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Don't hesitate to contact support when you are in need of help. The support team consists of expert CFD engineers that will most likely solve your problem in a matter of minutes!
The easiest why to use OpenFOAM, whrever you are, and with very helpful customer service.
What do you like best about the product?
A wide range of tutorials and the company's fast support make this the best platform to learn CFD and put it into practice. Due to being a cloud-based software, the computational limitations are very small, allowing to develop very complex projects.
What do you dislike about the product?
Sometimes it can be a little complex. But the tutorials and support available can help you solve problems
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Simscale helped us develop part of our FSAE car, through some FEA and CFD.
Great customer service and simulation environment
What do you like best about the product?
The fast response of the technical support and the simple user interface of the different simulation types.
What do you dislike about the product?
The geometry tool could be a bit more complex so that easy CAD operations are possible. The second point is that the heat transfer coefficient should be simulated to as an own parameter (for CHT simulations).
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?

A really great product!
What do you like best about the product?
The best feature is the fact that you can run your simulations on online cores simultaneously, so your laptop specifications do not really matter. It is really easy to use and the automated meshing is very impressive.
What do you dislike about the product?
There isn't much to dislike. The one little thing is that the surface splitting could be improved a little. Other than that, it is a really well-rounded product.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I have a very low spec laptop, so CFD analysis is very cumbersome to do on it. But as SimScale works on an online platform, it decreases running time and is a very user-friendly interface. So we don't need any high end laptop but only a good internet connection.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Really do try it. If you think you need a good internet connection for it to run, don't worry. You'll need to only upload your geometry and everything else happens online on their servers. And if you don't have any experience with CFD altogether, they even have a SimScale Academy that provides various courses, some even for free to help you learn and use the software better.
Excellent technical support and user friendly interface
What do you like best about the product?
The technical support has fast response, and the set-up for the cases is pretty straightforward with the guidance and GUI interface.
What do you dislike about the product?
The geometry tool construction is very basic and some physics in radiation like DO radiation model are not present at the moment.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
