Technical support is outstanding.
What do you like best about the product?
For my needs simscale has been extremely helpful. I got technical help to begin my first simulations, and I got fast technical support for additional issues that came up. They keep adding more capabilities too and listen to customer needs.
What do you dislike about the product?
Occasionally the web based post-processing page loads the models a bit slow, but for the most part, it works well.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We needed to model the flow in a rapidly developing heat exchanger, and Solidworks flow had a large entry point and the technical support is good, but simscale has far exceeded that.
Simscale Air Flow Patterns
What do you like best about the product?
Simscale has helped me significantly by allowing me to process more accurate data when evaluating a building's indoor air quality. The product has taken my business to the next level of technical competence and allows me to provide better solutions for my clients. It was a game changer for my business.
What do you dislike about the product?
Their is nothing I dislike about Simscale
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Simscale models airflow patterns within a building space which is used during the design stage or evaluation stage of my products. It enables me to identify problems quickly and resolve them easily by changes in my design.
Impressive Speed and Support!
What do you like best about the product?
SimScale's calculations are incredibly swift, making it a standout choice. Its LBM-based simulations are lightning-fast, leaving competing software in the dust. This remarkable performance is made possible by leveraging cloud systems and implementing cutting-edge CFD techniques.
In addition to its impressive speed, SimScale also offers top-notch online support. Count on the presence of knowledgeable experts who are always ready to assist you.

What do you dislike about the product?
While SimScale has impressive speed, it's important to note that it may not have all the features you expect. For example, the software currently lacks a dedicated FSI solver, which may be a limitation for certain simulations. Additionally, the post-processing section has room for improvement to enhance analysis and visualization capabilities.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Simulation of urban wind flow, analysis of building thermal behavior, and optimal placement of wind turbines.
Easy to use and very fast CFD-simulation tool
What do you like best about the product?
Simscale excels on several levels. First, it has a very intuitive user interface that guides you through the parameter setup in a structured way. On the other hand, the CFD simulations run very robustly and extremely fast. In case of problems, the support is fast and solution-oriented.
What do you dislike about the product?
Currently, major changes to the geometry are still very time-consuming, which is partly due to the control system in the CAD area, which takes some getting used to. In addition, special outputs can only be obtained awkwardly. Here, however, one can count on the help of the support.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Outdoor wind comfort assessment, air movement analysis in rooms and spaces
Happy since 2019, and it has only gotten better!

Outstanding tool
What do you like best about the product?
The reason behind our selection of SimScale as our CFD simulation tool was the potential minimum time to start simulating and showing results since we would be able to use existing examples and case studies as the base for ours. Our expectations have been met and exceeded so far, in both the system functionality and the customer service. We have been able to show results in some phenomena that are really complex to show with formulas, in much less time than expected.
What do you dislike about the product?
As in all new tools and systems, the first simulations can be hard to understand, especially when defining the inlet and outlet boundary conditions. I recommend to invest in the first training hours.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
SimScale has helped us to show a model for some aerodynamical phenomena happening in our quality control equipments for the metallurgical industry. It has also been useful to select the right technology for some blowers and compressors that interact with our process
Excellent user-friendly simulation software for novices and advanced users.
What do you like best about the product?
Incredible real-time support and straightforward simulation setup. A new user can be up and running in a short amount of time even without formal training. The meshing algorithms are very good and appear to accurately capture the physics without too much manual intervention. I've been formally trained with primarily COMSOL Multiphysics, but I was able to get started on SimScale in a fraction of the time. SimScale makes it much easier to set up and run complex analyses such as physical contact with much less pain than COMSOL.
I really enjoy the overall workflow and excellent integration with our CAD package, OnShape. Finally, new features are constantly added without requiring a new license or update as software updates are pushed directly to the cloud-based software. If I have any questions regarding the software or simulation help, tech support is nearly real-time. Shoutout to Ricardo for his patience and incredible support!

What do you dislike about the product?
The boundary conditions and analysis types are somewhat convoluted; certain boundary conditions are only available in certain analysis types for no clear reason. For example, the radiation boundary condition is not available in Heat Transfer, but it is in convective or conjugate heat transfer. To this day, I'm still not quite sure what the difference between Conjugate Heat Transfer and Conjugate Heat Transfer v2.0. If I spend all the time setting up the boundary conditions for one analysis type and want to switch, I have to redo all the boundary conditions which is somewhat frustrating.
Due to the cloud nature of the software, analyses for simple problems can take significantly longer than other software. Meshing in particular takes a good amount of time to complete, especially if I have to iterate through the mesh. This was a very fast process in COMSOL as the mesh was locally computed. 2D analyses are also sorely missed for simple problems.

Using SimScale for Academic Purposes
What do you like best about the product?
The program is easy to learn and has plenty of resources to aid the user. The forum has quick replies from the SimScale professionals.
What do you dislike about the product?
Some features are lacking in SimScale that one would typically see with other CFD programs, specifically in the post-processor.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I am using SimScale for HVAC simulations. The simulation setup is easy, and the website has plenty of tutorials and resources that help the user.
Low entry-level CFD package with concise docs and amazing support.
What do you like best about the product?
SimScale is straight-forward to use even for someone with no previous experience in computational fluid dynamics. The work-flow is intuitive, there is lots of good documentation that get you up to speed quickly. There is also amazing support available through the user forum and the very helpful SimScale staff.
Thanks to the simple interface and the fact that all tools one needs for CFD from meshing to the visualisation are in one place, it's easy to generate results quickly. The possibility to import the models directly from OnShape is a nice touch. The free 3000 core hours on the community account are generous and were more than I needed to complete my project.

What do you dislike about the product?
Some stages of the work-flow can take long to load. Inspecting the mesh or visualising the final results can require some patience. For future use, I will probably analyse the results off-line with a 3rd-party software.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I was optimising the geometry of a RC plane. SimScale helped me to understand the effect of the dimensions of the wings and the fuselage on total lift and drag.
The community and support is just way beyond amazing.
What do you like best about the product?
It is user friendly. There is a lot of help to find in the community. The chat-support is just beyond amazing. The website as well is pretty well-organized compared to how much information is on there. The search engine is also satisfying.
What do you dislike about the product?
Nothing really. Would be nice to have a broader library of fluids and solids. I do not know if this comes with the pro-editions.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I needed to figure out how fast nitrogen stabilized in temperature through a 316L Stainless Steel pipe. Even though there is not a default 316L in the solids-library(at least not in the community edition), you're able to adjust necessary parameters of the steel pipe default to match a 316L pipe.
