A versatile engagement platform that is always improving

What do you like best about the product?
Product is constantly improving and our customer success manager is always interested in our feedback, plus letting us know about product roadmap items.

Canvas Flow is an excellent user journey orchestration tool that allows you to build user journey flows as simple or complicated as you need without requiring considerable uplift.
What do you dislike about the product?
The search function is still poor, requiring you to use strict naming conventions. If you don't do this, it is hard to find campaigns, especially if they have similar names. Unfortunately, this problem has existed for years with no improvement

The lack of autosave in Canvas/campaigns - sometimes, you can forget to save changes which can cause you to lose work. It would be good to have the option to have auto-save on or off when working in a canvas.

The segment builder is still missing some much-needed filters. For example, it isn't possible to calculate the unique users that have entered a reoccurring weekly canvas in a given calendar month.

The simplicity of the platform can be a curse at times. Employees with less experience in the platform tend to have a false sense of confidence when building campaigns/canvases. This can lead to errors in builds that affect entries, sends, etc. This is easily be solved by staffing appropriately and putting in solid processes, but something that new users of Braze should be mindful of.

It is cumbersome to move members between canvases. Currently, this is achieved by webhooks, but this needs to change.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Increasing engagement - getting our app users to become more loyal during onboarding and throughout the user's lifecycle.
Better segmenting - enabling us to be more personalized in our communication to users.
Better data - using conversion events to track the success of our campaigns, whereas previously we would look at email or push engagement data.

I would highly recommend Braze as an ESP.

What do you like best about the product?
Braze is intuitive. The steps to setting up and deploying an email are simple and straight forward so that I am able to focus more so on strategy as a marketer and less time (frustratingly) setting up campaigns.
What do you dislike about the product?
Push open data is overstated and misleading under campaign details because it is calculating open rate off of influenced opens (meaning they are counting an open even if someone closes out of it).
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Being able to setup liquid logic has helped our team considerably by helping personalize messaging based on a user's preferences.

Extremely useful tool with a great support team.

What do you like best about the product?
That you can personalize and launch messages/campaigns in several channels (i.e. push, in-app, email..) . You can have multiple campaigns going on at once and stay organized using available tools. As a newer user to Braze I cannot say enough about how great the team is. Very responsive and helpful! Last but not least, the help section with its tutorial videos & lessons make it so much easier for a new user to get going.
What do you dislike about the product?
I wish it was easier to search for campaigns, delete campaigns (not just archive) and have more reporting options (especially in exporting to other programs like excel)
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
It's so much easier to run multiple campaigns at once and in multiple channels. It has also become easier to try various targeting (A/B testing) thanks to the tools.

Braze is Wonderful

What do you like best about the product?
Braze is incredibly versatile and has some of the most dedicated representatives I've ever worked with. They are always willing to help you figure out issues, and connect you with engineers when you need more advanced questions answered.

Moreover, their system is built in such a versatile away that it allows marketers to do virtually whatever they want.
What do you dislike about the product?
I wish that the Braze segmentation loaded a bit faster—sometimes it's easier to download a list than it is to preview it.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Braze is solving so many problems for us that it is hard to pinpoint exactly one thing that is invaluable. Our marketing team would not be able to function without Braze—there would be no product markets without Braze.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Speak to sales representatives—they are super knowledgable and very helpful.

Push, Email, In-app, Personalization, Geolocation all in one platform

  • February 21, 2020
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
The canvas feature allow for a very seamless set up for user journeys and the interface is user friendly. I love that we can intertwine push, in-app and email all within a canvas. This allows us to message our users in the channels they find most valuable.

The support team at Braze has been incredible helpful and useful. The success managers are not only a great source for strategy, but they also have valuable technical skills to help push projects along. This has made getting higher level projects completed much easier when we haven't needed to constantly consult with technical engineers for answers.

Braze is constantly evolving and always wiling to add us to beta testing so we can utilize and understand new tools before available to everyone.
What do you dislike about the product?
I wish there was a more comprehensive dashboard that could assess metrics in a little more depth. I would also love to see an analysis on potential passive churn.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
With canvas, it's much easier for us to visualize journey's and assess which messaging could be overlapping within a user flow. Being able to send a subsequent push after a user takes certain actions within a different channel, like email, has been valuable and enhanced the user experience.
