Overall, Canva is a great design alternative

  • January 05, 2018
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Canva is super easy to use and is a great design alternative
What do you dislike about the product?
it needs more flexibility such as ability to kearn text.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I am able to quickly design social media graphics by using templates rather than creating them completely from scratch
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Canva is a great alternative to using Adobe Photoshop, Indesign or Illustrator. You are able to easily design anything from invites, flyers or social media posts. You can design from scratch or you can choose to use one of their templates and customize it to make it your own. The only thing I wish it did that it doesn't is the ability to kearn text. Sometimes I want more freedom with the text on a graphic.

Produce like a graphic designer without the skills

  • January 05, 2018
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Quick and easy to use. You don't need any design experience to produce graphics that look professional and captivating. So long as you provide you own photos, your finished graphic is free. I love the versatility of design options. You can create everything from beautiful posters and brochures, to social media graphics and PowerPoints within minutes. Canva takes the guesswork out of designing the perfect graphic.
What do you dislike about the product?
There are only two features I dislike about Canva: layers and colors. First, about the layers. It's extremely frustrating when you're trying to select the background but the top layer (typically a text box) is automatically selected. When this happens, you're forced to move all layers away to get to the one you want. Second, about saving colors. Unless you pay for Canva for Work (which my organization is currently considering), you cannot save your hex codes. Rather, you must enter them in each and every time.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I love that Canva is free and there's no need to train new team members on it. I can give them my login info or have them create their own in minutes. After poking around for a few minutes, anyone can begin to make their own designs. Extremely user-friendly. Our organization is currently looking into the paid Canva for Work plan where we can save all projects in one place including our hex codes.

Amazing photoshop replacement

  • January 05, 2018
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
It has served the best replacement for photoshop for the users like me who dont require those advanced tools for editing any image or developing any art.It is cloud based and also available in a free version. All your data is on cloud so it is best not to backup your data every time. The tools that canva provide to develop is literally large in number. You can develop posters, presentations, visiting cards and what not.Using canva will really make you believe that it is a perfect replacement for nascent users.
What do you dislike about the product?
As I said canva is cloud based so whenever internet connectivity is slow it is really a heck to access the file which is a flaw of canva.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I use canva to develop posters and presentations regularly for various product demonstrations.I have used canva for much time and I would tell that no other tool will provide such abundent amount of templates for almost all types of design.Canva has really made my work easy.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
I would recommend using canva because it will help you easily develop your designs with least haze.Because canva is not that kind of software that requires professional training,it is for the mid tier users who have to fulfill their daily needs of designing without being depending on others.

Limited but Clean Design and Convenient for Certain Tasks

  • January 05, 2018
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
I like the minimal design of the website and straightforward navigation.
What do you dislike about the product?
There is no easy way to sort through the layouts. You have to continue to scroll to find one you like. It would be nice if there was a way to filter by design themes.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I used Canva as a way to easily make Facebook banners. I didn't have to guess the size as they automatically calculated that and I could just move around my image and place text as desired.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
You don't have to install any programs and it's free, so there's no harm in testing it out.

Easy to Use Design Tool

  • January 04, 2018
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Canva is a very easy program to use. The drag and drop capabilities and the ease of using the tools. There are many templates and I like all the pre-built sizes for the graphics. The ability to create a print quality pdf in Canva for Work is a great feature.
What do you dislike about the product?
There should be a way to sort out the free graphics from the paid ones. The text editing is very basic - not a lot of room for flexibility. We use "Canva for Work" and have the ability to resize. It's nice to have all the graphics transfer but there is still a lot of editing to do in the new size. Even as a paid customer it is very difficult to contact support. I wish you could print or download directly from the screen with all the designs. You have to actually open up a graphic to edit in order to do those things.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We primarily use Canva to create graphics for social media. We started with the free version but upgraded to Canva for Work because we saw the value in being able to create graphics quickly. It is very helpful for employees who do not have much design experience to easily create a flyer or banner with little instruction.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Start with the trial to find out if the paid version would be beneficial.
