No graphic design skills needed!

  • January 08, 2018
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
I am not a graphic designer and as a small business owner, I don't have a lot of time to play around with creating graphics for social media posts but Canva makes it super easy to create high quality, professional looking graphics very quickly. I have been able to create things on my own without having to pay someone else to create graphics for me. So, it's saved me money while still sharing professional looking graphics.
What do you dislike about the product?
There isn't much that I dislike but all of the graphics I have created have started with one of their 'stock' designs. And I find that there are many layers and pieces which can be tedious to update. I wish I could resize a text boxes so that I don't have to drag over several of them to get all of the text on the graphic that I need.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
It is allowing me to create graphics to use in my social media posts for my business. So instead of just creating a post with text, I am able to quickly make a beautiful graphic that will be more eye catching in people's feeds and therefore have a high likelihood of being read.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
It's definitely worth considering if you want a free tool for people without graphic design skills to be able to use.

Amazing too!

What do you like best about the product?
I love how easy it is to drop in new photos, that it saves uploaded photos and that you can download images without a watermark
What do you dislike about the product?
Occasionally I would have liked to use more specific photo editing tools such has burning or colorizing a section, but instead I have to do this on photoshop or pic monkey prior to using it on Canva. I also wish that when you purchase a piece of clip art for a $1 I wish it could be used for more than 24 hours.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I use it all of the time to set images to the right size to import into our website and to create fun graphics for social media.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Since you can create so much for free and purchase elements for minimal fees, there is no reason you shouldn't give it a try!

What do you like best about the product?
I like that it's easy for a beginner to use and well thought out for an advanced user.
What do you dislike about the product?
I can't upload my own fonts. I really would like to be able to do this.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I am solving my problem with finding the right dimension for a pinnable post. That by using canva my pinnable post images are being pinned more often. As a blogger that is key.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Switch to Camva ASAP its easy and fun. Plus a lot more option.

What do you like best about the product?
Easily create amazing marketing images for every different angle
What do you dislike about the product?
From the mobile app, you can search for specific image templates to customize, but on desktop you don’t have the option. I typically start a flyer on my phone then finish on desktop. Also, had a co-worker point out that there are few African American model images.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Creating easy social media posts and flyers for marketing.

What do you like best about the product?
Great, easy to use app for making quick and dirty infographics and visualizations. With little design experience ( as in zero!) you can whip up great ads or visual aids for social media or blogs.
What do you dislike about the product?
Okay so it can take a little of time to get the hang of things, and the templates are somewhat limited, but with a little practice you can really make some good stuff quick.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Content team needed to create great visuals without taking resources from the design team.

Easy to use and ready to go design software

What do you like best about the product?
I was super surprised by the incredible Canva. You can choose from hundreds of templates, save all your graphics in it, modify them as you need and access to them from wherever you want, since it's cloud based. All the templates provided are fully customizable, with fonts, shapes and colours. You can even set your business colors and logo that you can use in every project.
What do you dislike about the product?
You do not have a search bar for templates and elements. So you have to scroll all the way through to find the one you like or that can fit the project. You also have to verify every time that the last changes were saved by Canva. Sometimes I lost work.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I can create for myself and for my company great and visual graphics. I've no longer the needs to hire a pro for small projects. Thanks to the templates I save my times simply changing fonts type and words. I do not even need to change colors.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
You will improve your presence with Canva. it will helps you to have professional graphics for free and with no problems. Try it, the free version offers you all the main feats.

My only solution for graphic layouts

  • January 06, 2018
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
I've been using Canva for a few years now, and it is the only application I need for the various graphic designs I create for my websites and other projects. Canva replaced the need for using Photoshop. Canva has a great assortment of template designs and graphic elements for nearly any type of design project. I like how assessable the tools are, and it even allows for layering objects below and above one another. About two years agoI signed up for the company plan because it makes it easier to design and manage layouts. Canva also has a really great design tutorials for using the tools and learning about good design techniques.
What do you dislike about the product?
I hardly use the stock photos because they are so generic and lacking in racial diversity. I also wish that Canva made it possible to select in favor design templates because it takes too much time to browse through the hundreds of designs they offer. It is also very difficult to search for design templates according to topics. It's easy to search for design elements but not design templates.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Canva makes it easy for me to open its online application and create designs for my websites and other projects. I can also quickly duplicate a layout and make custom changes with little or no hassle. Using Canva instead of Photoshop or some other desktop application means that I don't have to worry about downloading application updates or dealing with technical issues. I also like how Canva includes layout for the various social networking sites, like Facebook and Twitter.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
I recommend new users of Canva to check out their online tutorials. There only about a dozen features that you need to learn.

So helpful

What do you like best about the product?
The easiest way to make high end looking graphics. It is easy to use and it makes it easy to make the edits that you want. They have a large amount of formats and graphics to use in the free accounts.
What do you dislike about the product?
There is a learning curve. I found it a little difficult to put in some of the excel sheet information and have it show in the infographs in a way that made it clear.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Creating infogrpahics for presentations. It made it easy to make colorful and more interesting presentations for conferences and for research team meetings among our research huddle. It is also going to be used to show our agency partners our findings.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Give yourself some time to learn it and fiddle with the graphics and how to upload data from excel
