Makes my world easier by the day
What do you like best about the product?
I love Jellyfish as it gives me a fresh daily look at ensuring work allocations and provides insight from a higher-level view which wasn't transparent before using Jellyfish
What do you dislike about the product?
I have nothing to dislike about Jellyfish.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Work allocation is not being transparent. With jellyfish, that has been resolved. Thanks
Next level metrics!
What do you like best about the product?
I have relied heavily on Jira reporting to track project progress and monitor team health, but Jellyfish is next level! The seamless connection of signals from Jira, GitHub and even google calendars puts data together clearly and compellingly, making it easy to tell a story and create transparency. You can quickly drill into details at a very granular level or zoom out to see holistic trends across the organization.
Updating: Adding on to my earlier review as continuning to work with and use Jellyfish has been a great. The tool i very easy to use and coming out with new features every month. The scenarion planning ise useful for thinking through project options, and the new goal setting/tracking feature looks it will replace a lot of manual dashboarding we do now. Additionally, our account rep is fantasitc! We have a direct slack communication set up and whenever we have questions or requests, our rep is on it!

What do you dislike about the product?
There is a bit of a learning curve, and it is an involved process to set up, but the Jellyfish customer support team is highly knowledgeable and responsive
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Increased transparency that supports informed decision-making and continuous improvement
Metrics across all of engineering at a glance
What do you like best about the product?
I can quickly and easily see where my team spends our time (new product development vs. technical debt vs. support work) and help ensure it aligns with our organization goals. Following a sprint where we over-invested in one area, I can suggest work items to balance it out in the next sprint. I can also quickly see how the scope changed during a sprint to help gauge the accuracy of our planning and look for trends with becoming less or more efficient in planning and handling disruptions. I also like that Jellyfish allows me to review my team's work output (and my output) to see how it compares within the department. It can be beneficial when it's time to perform an end-of-year performance review to identify trends and improvements for myself or others. Within the organization, we also have a way to report bugs directly to Jellyfish within a slack channel and support has been very responsive.
What do you dislike about the product?
I don't have any particular dislikes. There are some features that leadership would like to have which are not currently available (such as a quarterly toggle only available for Company investment allocations). Still, Jellyfish already has work planned for some of this and is continuously improving.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Jellyfish is helping our leadership members assess if where we spend our time aligns with our larger departmental and company goals. It is also helping to track if we are hitting our milestones and release dates with roadmap product work and technical initiatives. Jellyfish also provides proactive support to help us ensure our metrics are set up exactly how we need them.
Great Insights provided from Jellyfish
What do you like best about the product?
Provides great insight into how our teams and people are performing with respect to CapEx and OpEx to grow the business.
What do you dislike about the product?
Configuration is not the easiest as a new user and some things are not configurable by us requiring asking for some changes.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Providing greater insights into where our efforts are focused and the costs. It also helps to see how our PRs are moving through the system.
Great experience all around
What do you like best about the product?
The support team is amazing! We've brought up issues we're seeing and they've rolled out fixes in the same day.
The metrics Jellyfish provides are fantastic. It helps us determine areas of improvement, focus on pain points, and measure the effects of changes we've implemented. This kind of visibility is supremely useful as we try to balance our efforts between features, bugs, and technical changes.

What do you dislike about the product?
While I was not personally involved in this part of the setup, the overhead and organization needed to get Jellyfish up and running is not insignificant. It's very important to get it right. Garbage in leads to garbage out.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Jellyfish provides a one stop shop to see and investigate cycle times, allocation of work, individual and team productivity stats, sprint metrics, and epic progress.
Helpful
What do you like best about the product?
Consolidation, projection, easy integration, better visibility and resource management.
Scope and effort charts are good. Investment distribution charts provide good information

What do you dislike about the product?
The user experience could have been better. At 1 point, a lot of information on 1 page, which distracts user's focus.
The interface could be more eye catching

Powerful Efficiency Measurement Tool
What do you like best about the product?
Jellyfish's analytics platform provides a powerful solution for measuring employees efficiency, offering valuable insights that empower informed decision-making and streamline workflows. It enables us to gain deep visibility into our activities and make data-driven improvements.
What do you dislike about the product?
After actively using Jellyfish for three months, we have not encountered any drawbacks or disadvantages. The platform has been consistently reliable and effective in delivering the analytics and insights we need.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Jellyfish effectively addresses our need to measure engineering activity and identify areas for improvement. By utilizing various plots and graphs provided by Jellyfish, we can easily pinpoint weaknesses in our processes and take corrective actions promptly. This ultimately leads to enhanced efficiency, optimized workflows, and better overall outcomes for our business.
Unifying teams and process across the organization
What do you like best about the product?
The tool delivers insights for the executive staff, individual teams, and managers. We found things to improve within days of deploying Jellyfish. It provides meaningful metrics for measuring engineering productivity.
Over time we have seen a big uptake from the individual team managers as they start to learn more about the different tools and features on offer. Different managers are getting value from the tool in ways that we did not anticipate. Integrating Jellyfish across the organization has helped highlight areas for process improvement, in addition to giving us actionable metrics.
The support team is highly responsive and helpful and works with us to ensure our custom needs are met. I wish all our vendors were this engaged.

What do you dislike about the product?
Nothing to dislike with Jellyfish and I cannot wait to see what future features they deliver.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Jellyfish is solving the problems of productivity visibility, engineering FTE allocation and process unification. Jellyfish is driving a complete rewrite of our engineering best practices and processes for the better.
Driving Business Alignment and transformational change within Engineering
What do you like best about the product?
All companies face several engineering challenges, with most having a root cause of 'lack of alignment'. As a CTO/CIO, we must align investments and see ROI. JellyFish has been instrumental in understanding our investment distribution and allocating team members to products. We've seen an immediate impact with alignment (are we indeed focused on Roadmap/Innovation, or is the reality "KTLO/Bugs"). Additionally, the new scenario planner will help support tactical strategies to remediate late Epics (projects). We've improved Speed, Processes, Productivity, and Collaboration.
What do you dislike about the product?
Nothing yet; however, one feature we'd like to see is scenario-based benchmarks to drive high-level organizational goals (OKRs with baseline metrics).
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We strategically staffed a product and aligned expectations using the investment distribution. This has helped reduce operating budgets and level-set expectations with business partners (product management + executive leadership). Additionally, we can focus on behaviors/actions that generate value.
Improved visibility into engineering efforts
What do you like best about the product?
Provides us with a data-driven way to show the business what our engineering teams are working on. The resource allocation views are configured to display our key initiatives in a single, portfolio view. Jellyfish allows us to be more thoughtful about measuring investment and enables our leaders to drill down by ticket type, FTE investment over time, and delivery status.
What do you dislike about the product?
I want more capabilities to empower developers to optimize their workflows and achieve continuous improvement through real-time notifications that integrate into day-to-day processes. The system provides helpful visual dashboards, but the data should be more actionable.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Insight into what teams are working on, how efforts align with larger business goals, tracking the complete picture of development work across all engineers in the organization. Cost capitalization.
