Great Content Range but support team/account management leaves a lot to be desired

  • May 07, 2026
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
range of content available and the pricing point for the range
What do you dislike about the product?
The account management side of things. Change all the time, no idea who we are supposed to contact or be aware of changes, contract etc. Support team are helpful on technical side of things but we face challenges and have no point of contact.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Being able to host our own company content that is specific to our ways of operating. Also reducing the time taken on doing compliance training face to face by letting people complete relevant and reliable content online.

Comprehensive Training Platform with Unique Features

  • May 03, 2026
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
I really appreciate the Skillsoft Percipio Platform for its benchmarking feature, which helps people understand their current level and recommends the content that suits them best. This aspect allows individuals to see their growth and development progress. I love that it offers certifications within the platform, providing a seamless way to prepare for various certifications. The availability of audiobooks and book summaries makes it stand out from other offerings, allowing for offline access and convenience while traveling. The conversation simulator, or KC, is a really nice coaching device that adds value because it’s not something many other learning partners provide. Furthermore, the AI translation is super helpful for our global business, promoting inclusivity and democratizing learning, especially in regions where English isn't the main language.
What do you dislike about the product?
In all honesty, I find sometimes the reporting there could be more visualizations. So I think the admin panel could probably be a little bit more user-friendly, more intuitive. More visualizations, that would be more helpful.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I use Skillsoft Percipio Platform for training our staff, including leadership and personal development. It's great for understanding skill levels, offers valuable benchmarks and certifications, and provides content like audiobooks and book summaries. AI translation helps us be inclusive globally.

Clear instructions and effective learning with room for market reach and language expansion

  • August 22, 2025
  • Review provided by PeerSpot

What is our primary use case?

I use the Art of Staying Focused course for my organization after switching jobs. I was looking for learning opportunities, and I found this course best suitable for helping me stay focused on my new job work. It helped me significantly.

The course was 20 minutes in duration, and it provided several points which are helping me get back on track when I lose my focus.

The main benefits I have seen from using Skillsoft are that this course is helping me personally. The course has given me tools and key points which help me stay focused during boring tasks. From daily job deadlines, I have to complete work in the given time framework. I have to do the boring job at the start of the day when I am purely energetic. I have to take small breaks between jobs. I have to reward and motivate myself with whatever I enjoy most so that I can complete tasks by the deadline. These are the key points shared by the tutor.

What is most valuable?

What I appreciate about Skillsoft is that the teacher was excellent, and the communication was very clear. The teacher's communication skills were exceptional.

The syllabus was prepared point by point, and the instructor was specific rather than general in their approach.

I evaluate the insights that I get from Skillsoft to understand my learner engagement and progress with the course by acknowledging that I understood my purpose, which was partially solved.

What needs improvement?

Regarding areas of Skillsoft that I would like to see improved or enhanced in the future, the platform is already very good and nice. If Skillsoft is launching its platform worldwide, they should be language specific. While I can understand English, if someone does not understand it, they should have tutors for their regions as well, so they can develop more certification programs in languages understood by the majority of people.

I rate it a seven because they are missing two points: they do not have much market reach, and it should be more convenient in local languages of nations as they are approaching the worldwide area. Similar to how Netflix has multiple channel swapping options, if Skillsoft is training worldwide, they need to have the option for language selection.

For how long have I used the solution?

I have not been working with Skillsoft for a long time as I am working in Aditya Birla Group. I have completed one small course certificate from Skillsoft.

What do I think about the stability of the solution?

I have not faced any crashes, slowness, lagging, or downtimes with Skillsoft; it was user-friendly and provided a good experience.

Which solution did I use previously and why did I switch?

Before Skillsoft, I used our internal platform, which is Coursera.

How was the initial setup?

To set up Skillsoft and start working with it during my course, I found it was straightforward and very user-friendly, with no challenges.

Which other solutions did I evaluate?

I prefer Coursera more than Skillsoft because Coursera has a specific market approach that is better than Skillsoft. I am just becoming familiar with Skillsoft now, but Coursera is very popular and has many courses and has a much higher degree of capture in our group.

What other advice do I have?

The advice I would share with other users who would like to start using Skillsoft is that they can use it because the tutors are very good, having strong communication skills. They are specific on the topics, giving tools which we can note down and paste on our desk to use. I rate Skillsoft seven out of ten.

Diverse course library supports varied learning needs and personalization

  • August 21, 2025
  • Review provided by PeerSpot

What is our primary use case?

Skillsoft is something we are using for our L&D point of view, and we are using it on the part CPO side.

We have some ongoing training and ongoing courses. Every quarter, we are getting training, and as per our skill, the company is assigning us courses related to AI, quality point of view, or related to the analysis point of view.

There are different things related to customized courses in Skillsoft. For example, if an employee is onboarded in the company, there is a list of courses they need to go through, whether it is related to accounting, technology, or AI. Once that stage is completed, then we move the employees to the new stage and, as per the grade, we are assigning courses.

When I joined this organization, Skillsoft was the only option for the L&D point of view.

What is most valuable?

There are different aspects to discuss related to Skillsoft's extensive content library, which offers a vast collection of courses related to leadership skills and technology that helps meet the diverse learning needs of our employees.

There is abundant content related to learning in Skillsoft. Based on our interest, we can customize different courses, and we can search the different courses that are in the library.

Currently, there is an update in the software related to AI, which helps us to assess data-driven insights in understanding learner engagement and progress in Skillsoft. With the help of AI, we can track the courses of our employees and we can get insights of the users of the courses they are accessing. We are getting numerous insights on the dashboard.

I am currently going through AI courses and quality-related courses in Skillsoft. There are also numerous courses on the soft skill side as related to communication and how we can improve things in day-to-day life. Many diversity courses are available, and different things related to analysis, accounting, or user interest are available in the library.

I have not gone through the micro learning segments in Skillsoft. According to assignments from our employer, we need to work on the courses.

Skillsoft provides an extensive content library, personalized learning path, and blended learning support. Additionally, it provides mobile accessibility, so users can access it directly from their mobile whenever they have time. Robust analytics is also available, providing good reporting on the analytics side, such as how users are performing and how they are getting grades. This is very helpful for year-end performance assessments of the end user.

What needs improvement?

It is providing numerous content library courses. However, it is not giving us hands-on experience training where we are getting practical related material, instead of theory related material.

The cost is very important; it is very much on the higher side. This may make it less useful for smaller organizations because of cost content.

Regarding other solutions, on the Zoho side, for the low-code, no-code platform, we are using Zoho Creator to collect data from the employee or from the client, and for analytics, we are using Zoho Analytics. To find the performance of employees related to projects, we are using Zoho Projects as.

For how long have I used the solution?

I have been working with Skillsoft for three to four years.

What was my experience with deployment of the solution?

If I talk about the integration of Skillsoft within our learning management system, I am not entirely satisfied with the integration side because it is getting difficult to connect with third-party software.

Currently, we are not connected to anything, but we are working on the independent side only.

What do I think about the stability of the solution?

We are not experiencing any lagging or connectivity problems with Skillsoft.

What do I think about the scalability of the solution?

Our organization is very good at investing in these types of things for employee skill development. On the scalability side, I believe the company is getting very good benefits from the employee point of view regarding skill development.

Which solution did I use previously and why did I switch?

When I joined this organization, Skillsoft was the only option for the L&D point of view.

How was the initial setup?

Regarding the initial setup, it has improved numerous things. Every year, it is getting better related to course content and analysis point of view. Now they have also infused AI-related material, showing how AI is helping from the user point of view, and every year we are getting improvements on the platform side.

On the implementation side, we did not find any difficulties, and we also got very good support from the expert side on how to implement it at the organization level.

What about the implementation team?

On the implementation side, we did not find any difficulties, and we also got very good support from the expert side on how to implement it at the organization level.

What was our ROI?

I am not the right person to give the proper answer about return on investment with Skillsoft because there are different members of the senior leadership team analyzing the things related to how we are getting the return on investment and how it is helping our organization.

What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing?

The cost is very important; it is very much on the higher side. This makes it less useful for smaller organizations because of cost content.

Which other solutions did I evaluate?

Currently, we are using low-code, no-code platforms including Quickbase, Zoho Creator, and we are using three to four products from Zoho. Additionally, we are utilizing Microsoft products.

What other advice do I have?

In a nutshell, Skillsoft is a strong choice for an organization seeking a scalable, content-rich learning platform with robust analytics. However, to maximize its value, the company should complement it with practical hands-on training and ensure proper onboarding to overcome usability challenges. I rate Skillsoft an 8 out of 10.

User-friendly platform simplifies learning and certification management while fostering career progression

  • August 19, 2025
  • Review provided by PeerSpot

What is our primary use case?

It's completely integrated into our HRIS system, which is Workday. We pass through it to do learnings and certifications. For example, I'm currently on a learning journey regarding AI transformation with a yellow belt in this area. I'm not sure if the content is directly from Skillsoft itself or if it's a partnership we co-create with our company.

We have content created by my company and by Skillsoft I guess. Because we are almost always connected to Workday, it's very easy. In just two clicks, you are on the catalog of Percipio, and then we can easily access it. This is the main thing. Also, the achievements that you complete on Skillsoft directly appear on Workday regarding the career too. At a point where you don't know exactly which part came from Workday and which part came from Percipio because it's all gathered. There is the Percipio, the Skillsoft page, and there is the Workday page, but all the things you achieve on Skillsoft also appear on the Workday pages.

What is most valuable?

What I appreciate the most about Skillsoft is the user-friendly possibility to find my learnings, which ones I'm on, which ones I'm registered to complete later, the system of badges, and finding all the certificates in the same place once you complete them. It's useful and practical. I haven't had the chance to try the skills benchmarking and building because I'm unsure if it's already an option that exists, or if it will be in the next version. Apparently, based on your profile and job profile, and the skills I want to acquire, it will propose the learning that I will need to improve in my career. This is something really interesting too.

The platform is user-friendly and very easy to use. We don't need any training or coaching to use the platform. By nature, it's easy to navigate through it. The integration of an AI assistant, which I did not try, seems very useful to find the content that you want, even if you don't find it on the regular search bar. I really appreciate seeing the badges that I can have and my progression through this. Everything is in the same place - the badges, the certificates, and all the learning that you achieve.

What needs improvement?

It's difficult to provide feedback because I haven't tried all the available features. I'm not sure I know exactly what I can advise to improve or change. Perhaps, because I'm not sure if it exists or not, it would be beneficial to have a comparison available for you inside your team and among all the employees of your company. It could be useful to see where you are positioned. I understand it can show some competitive aspects, but I think it could be interesting to see where you are regarding your colleagues or the different employees you're working with, regarding the amount of hours or learnings or certifications you passed. It would be interesting to have this kind of feature.

For how long have I used the solution?

I have been using this solution for about three years.

Which solution did I use previously and why did I switch?

My career experience is relatively limited. My past experience with a learning system was with LinkedIn. I think that Skillsoft is easier to use to find content and to find what you learned, and it is more user-friendly.

I use LinkedIn Learning and Intelcia. LinkedIn seems to have more content in general. It's easier to share the certifications on LinkedIn, which is one of my platforms of work. This makes it easy to share with my LinkedIn community. However, it's not very user-friendly. Regarding KnowBe4, there is limited content. I'm not sure about this platform's age or if it depends on the agreement with my company.

The platform KnowBe4 is very playful. Regarding the badges and challenges, these features are more prominently displayed on KnowBe4. You feel very rewarded. There are no certifications on KnowBe4, which is a disadvantage. On the positive side, you feel very rewarded for what you accomplished because of the badges, and you can see where you rank in your company. Your company's ranking among other companies is also visible. It's interesting regarding this aspect. It's equally user-friendly but less aesthetically pleasing regarding the UX of the system.

What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing?

I don't have any information about the cost because it's a partnership with my company and it's mostly on the group part. I work in a subsidiary of the company. I have no idea what was negotiated or the price of the solution.

Which other solutions did I evaluate?

I think it depends on the solution you want to implement. I haven't used many software solutions, but there is LinkedIn, KnowBe4, and Workday. Workday is very customized. I also use Phenom.

What other advice do I have?

I'm not an expert on that platform, but I feel very comfortable with the micro-learning features because sometimes you don't have time for a whole hour of programming, so you can schedule small sessions of learning throughout your week or month. It's very convenient. I would rate this solution an 8 out of 10.

Content facilitates understanding of complex roles and tasks in an organization

  • August 12, 2025
  • Review provided by PeerSpot

What is our primary use case?

I appreciate the fact that Skillsoft was self-explanatory, as they tried to explain complex topics in a simpler manner, so that even someone who doesn't have a background as a software engineer can still understand what they are doing. In the case of Product Owner, they understand that the Product Owner is not necessarily the software developer, so there is a real difference. The Product Owner owns the product vision, has to manage the product backlog, and collaborates with other stakeholders to increase the value of the product. Even though I had no experience as Product Owner, I was still able to understand the role and expectations of a Product Owner, and that's what I appreciated with Skillsoft.

We use Percipio for personalized learning in our company.

Percipio has helped enhance engagement and retention through the content they offer. Because there is abundant content available, users can choose what interests them and have the freedom to decide what they want to learn. This impacts retention by making users want to continue learning continuously.

What is most valuable?

The comprehensiveness of Skillsoft's content library in supporting various learning objectives is self-explanatory, requiring minimal effort to understand.

Skillsoft has supported a culture of continuous learning within my organization by helping me continuously learn new skills. While I can only speak for myself regarding other colleagues' experiences, I would need to inquire about their usage.

The main benefits I have seen from using Skillsoft are that it helped me understand the workflow and its application within the company. What I learned enabled me to ask clearer questions to my Product Owner. I was able to understand when tickets needed refinement and identify missing information needed to solve tickets. This helped me act in a Product Owner capacity and assisted me in achieving my work in a meaningful way daily.

What needs improvement?

Skillsoft is already good, but I would appreciate more visual content. When someone can see and not only read text, it becomes easier to learn from the material. The visual aspect or visual content is always easier for someone to comprehend.

I need to use Skillsoft more often to identify specific features that might be missing, as I have been satisfied with what I have used so far. I don't currently know of specific features that I would want to see included in future releases.

For how long have I used the solution?

I have been working with Skillsoft for approximately one year.

What was my experience with deployment of the solution?

Starting to work with Skillsoft was straightforward with my background, and I didn't face any challenges or complexities.

What do I think about the stability of the solution?

I didn't face any downtimes, crashes, or stability issues with Skillsoft.

What do I think about the scalability of the solution?

Skillsoft has proven to be scalable in my experience.

How are customer service and support?

I don't have any experience with Skillsoft's tech support or customer service, and I have not escalated any questions to them.

What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing?

I don't have information about Skillsoft's pricing or licensing aspects, as these are managed by my company. When there's a certification available, I can take it, but I am not familiar with the licenses or prices.

Which other solutions did I evaluate?

Apart from Skillsoft, I use Percipio, and during my student years, I used edX, Coursera, and Udemy.

The key differences between Skillsoft and other systems such as Udemy or Coursera are that the other platforms featured people teaching the courses, allowing learners to benefit from their experiences. These were experienced professionals teaching the courses, which represents the main difference I noticed.

What other advice do I have?

I am curious to learn more about the expectations and requirements for this product review.

Skillsoft was embedded within the Percipio software within the company, so I am not certain about whether it was a SaaS version or Solution as a Service.

Regarding intuitiveness and user experience, it was very consistent.

Skillsoft was hosted on cloud, and I didn't use it on-premises.

There are not many specific recommendations I can share with other organizations considering Skillsoft for their environment, as long as they have access to it.

Based on my personal experience, I would recommend Skillsoft as a product solution.

I rate Skillsoft 8 out of 10.

    Jonathan A.

My experience with Skillsoft.

  • August 08, 2025
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
The Skillsoft training catalogue is externally sourced and contains over 1,000 eLearnings on a broad range of several topics – offered in more than 10 different languages.
The catalogue contains trainings with globally relevant content and also localized trainings focusing on specific critical aspects for certain countries. The catalogue is constantly being updated and complemented.
What do you dislike about the product?
The screen cannot be adjusted as desired.
Cannot move the video backwards. Would have to check the video again.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Skillsoft benefits me by offering flexible learning opportunities that I can tailor to my schedule and career goals, enhancing my skills and knowledge in a convenient manner.

Consistently expands IT skills with a wide range of accessible courses

  • August 01, 2025
  • Review provided by PeerSpot

What is our primary use case?

I am currently working as a Customer Support Engineer at Sutherland, and I want to transition into the IT field as a Cloud Engineer. It has been my dream for years. Due to issues and lack of skills, I started as a Technical Support Associate. When I was introduced to Skillsoft, I gained many skills and obtained my Microsoft Azure certification, which helped me secure a position as a Cloud Engineer at Sutherland.

Previously, I learned the basics of cloud support on a different platform. Sutherland arranged an interview where they told me I was fit for the role but needed more skills. They provided me three months to study specific portions on Skillsoft. When I attended the second interview in March or April, I easily passed it, which helped me get this role.

What is most valuable?

Some certifications, such as AWS and GCP, are only accessible through a computer and cannot be accessed through Android. It would be better if access could be provided through Android devices.

The Amazon AWS certification is particularly valuable because the outside market cost would be around 30,000 to 40,000, but it is quite affordable through Skillsoft.

I have been using Skillsoft since September 22, 2024, when Sutherland provided me access as part of my employment.

Initially, I used platforms such as Udemy, Great Learning, and others. The curriculum in Skillsoft is more structured, and there are curriculum notes available. If I want to take notes, they are readily available. The captions are also available, allowing me to pause, copy the captions, and continue learning. This makes it easier to understand and revise.

What needs improvement?

The platform consumes a significant amount of data. It would be better if the quality or data usage could be lowered so that we can learn more easily. Currently, I am limited to using the course once or twice a week due to data constraints.

Regarding the pros of Skillsoft, there is exposure to many courses at an affordable price compared to the outside market. There are also many resources available compared to other platforms. For cons, it would be beneficial to include live classes, not just recorded sessions, for doubt-clearing purposes.

Regarding the onboarding, the initial login was complicated, especially when using company credentials. At Sutherland, we must change our email password every 45 days, and we must change it on Skillsoft as well. This makes it complicated to store data on our laptops or share resources with other devices.

For how long have I used the solution?

Within the past two to three months, the experience has been really good. During the initial days, it was slow due to connectivity issues. I had to wait for portions to skip, and there were many conflicts. However, recently it has been very good.

What was my experience with deployment of the solution?

I just take the courses. I want to do more but do not know how to proceed.

What do I think about the stability of the solution?

Sometimes the system logs out in the middle of classes without any reason and asks me to log in again. There are issues with session timeouts where we have to log in again to continue.

On a scale of one to ten, I would rate Skillsoft's stability as seven. Most features are good, but there are some drawbacks such as internet connectivity issues, high data consumption, and the absence of live classes.

What do I think about the scalability of the solution?

While we cannot add resources directly, Skillsoft adds them seamlessly and provides notifications about new additions to enrolled courses. This is a valuable asset of Skillsoft because many other platforms require additional payment for future additions. With Skillsoft, once you pay, you have access to current and future resources.

How are customer service and support?

The tech support was helpful, especially with credential issues where they provided exceptional solutions. Sometimes explaining issues takes a long time, but most interactions are positive.

Which solution did I use previously and why did I switch?

I used platforms such as Udemy, Great Learning, and others. The curriculum in those platforms was complicated with a lack of curriculum notes. I had to write notes myself or take screenshots. Skillsoft provides curriculum notes and captions, making it easier to understand and revise the material.

How was the initial setup?

The login process was complicated, particularly when using company credentials. At Sutherland, we must change our email password every 45 days, and this change must be reflected in Skillsoft as well.

What about the implementation team?

As a junior-level engineer, I have not been included in that process.

What was our ROI?

As an entry-level engineer, I am not exposed to ROI information. This might be available to higher-level engineers.

What other advice do I have?

The platform requires significant data consumption. It would be better if the quality could be lowered to allow for easier learning. Currently, I can only use the course once or twice a week due to data constraints.

For those in remote areas, it is advisable to find a location with reliable network connectivity to enjoy a buffer-free Skillsoft learning experience.

Overall rating: 10/10.
