Splunk is a great log/SIEM tool for enterprise, but comes with a steep cost
What do you like best about the product?
The ease of implementation and setup of Splunk Cloud was/is probably one of the advantages over competitors. In a short time, you can integrate data sources and gain telemetry into your environment. Splunk has an intuitive interface, at least for me, which allows you to explore data, create insightful visualizations and uncover hidden issues.
What do you dislike about the product?
Although the ease of standing up Splunk is its advantage, it can quickly grow to become unwieldy if you grow your data sources without limiting it to what you need. For example, do you need every single log coming from AWS? Probably not, but if you don't have good admins putting up guardrails for this, you'll not only grow to have too many data sources, but your costs will grow exponentially. Cost is my biggest dislike of Splunk; it's expensive relative to competitors.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We have to make sense of large sets of data, and Splunk helps us ingest, aggregate, and analyze that data at scale. It gives us the valuable insights into our environment that we need. For example, our security team uses it to detect and respond to security incidents. We have a lot of security logs and parsing through them without Splunk is not an option. Splunk highlights what we need to pay attention to and gives us the valuable telemetry that we need in order to make quick decisions.

What do you like best about the product?
Splunk is capable of handling huge amounts of data easily and supports various formats of data. It can be used to create dashboards and reports with vital meanings for business.
What do you dislike about the product?
Splunk pricing model is too expensive, I think a free version or tier needs for every feature somewhat like Amazon web services. The product compatibility details needs to be more specific if the scaling up requires more data to be handled.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
The platform helps the projects and organization's to pipeline the data management, data cleaning and analysis, which reduces the time required to get the meaningful data. It reduces the dependency on data scientists or analysts
An Average experience with Splunk
What do you like best about the product?
We use it to collect and analyze metrics from various sources such as applications, lambdas and cron jobs. This helps us to gain insights into performance, resource utilization, and bottlenecks.
What do you dislike about the product?
We are a smaller organization and the pricing structure can be complex and may not be suitable for smaller organizations with limited budgets. The cost of the platform can vary a ton based on different factors such as data volume and additional features, making it less accessible for organizations with limited financial resources
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
It help us collect metrics on the services, lambdas and cron jobs that are running. we also use it to do application performance monitoring and log monitoring to ensure nothing is breaking in production.
Good experience - one of the best alerting softwares
What do you like best about the product?
The main feature I have used is the splunk on-call. Compared to others like pagerduty it provides a better dashboard and on-call scheduling cycles which seems to be nonexistent in pagerduty. And the feature of calling the next person in the oncall cycle helps attend the production issues. One other important feature is that it provides reports with many filters, which makes it easier to analyse at the end of weekly oncall cycles. Splunk is quite easy to integrate with new relic alerting.
What do you dislike about the product?
It could have a feature like setting up schedules for time range such as a person can be oncall for the day time and someone else for the night shift which I think currently is unavailable. Sometimes android phone categorises its calls as junk which can be an issue.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I am most familiar with the alerting mechanism of splunk oncall. It helps us respond to production issues on time and customizability over the mode of alerting such as email, mobile or message is great. The mails contain enough info and link to the issues on aws, gcp or even new relic.

It provides extra traces in production debugging and also it has great notification system.

It should have some good beginner tutorial

Splunk is very user-friendly, easy to use, and most importantly it's very very insightful. The system shows even the complex data in a very simplistic and easy to understand manner.

Honestly, nothing to dislike about this product. It is the much needed demand of the time now to have such a product.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Taking corrective decisions, better decision making, calculative risks planning, better insights on business opportunities and threats.
The best IT cloud software - Splunk
What do you like best about the product?
The best thing about Splunk is that it is not just some cloud-based solution; it's a whole set of utilities that can serve multiple purposes in different fields i.e. Cloud Analytics, Cloud Siem, cloud storage, etc. So it is a multipurpose software we can say.
What do you dislike about the product?
There are no significant downsides to Splunk. The only thing that I feel is not up to the mark is the integration capabilities considering its competitors in the market; it has constraints for integrating with many different tools.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I have been using Splunk IT Cloud as a Cloud-based Siem tool which served the purpose of security monitoring for our clients, and trust me, Splunk did a really fantastic job at it.

Everyone should go for Splunk as it is one of the best and fastest cloud-based IT solutions available in the market.
