Easy to use, even for a newbie. Great reporting.

What do you like best about the product?
When I started at my most recent company 7 months ago I had never used Hubspot before. I had heard quite a few things about the complexity of the system and "if you're not a developer, good luck." Well I am not a developer and the truth is that using the Marketing Hub has been a breeze. So easy in fact that I rarely, if ever, need to look up how to do something or get outside help. I don't feel intimidated by the system at all, and I particularly love the reporting dashboards so I can review how our marketing channels are performing WoW.
What do you dislike about the product?
I wish the social media functions were more robust. For example, many times I have wanted to use Hubspot to post to Instagram stories, or create a thread on Twitter - but in those circumstances, I have to post that content outside of the system.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
It saves me a lot of time to be able to post everything from a single source. It's easy to use and helps me to be more efficient.

Social and Hubspot; the perfect match!

  • November 23, 2020
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Where do I begin! We're all about crunching the numbers and sharing results. Hubspot makes reporting easy and gives you exactly what you're after at a glance - you're able to group individual posts together so it's easy to see how a campaign is doing across the board.
What do you dislike about the product?
As much as I love the reporting it would be great if there was a way to export the pie charts and graphs - I normally export the data in an excel doc and recreate the graphs to pop into my final social overview for the year.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
It's great for collaboration. When working as part of a team, it's great to schedule/draft posts, and have team members dip in and review before the go live date - this has been a game changing as we are now working from home.

HubSpot Marketing Hub is very easy to use, intuitive and also powerful regarding automation.

What do you like best about the product?
The workflow section is very helpful for setting up email automation. It is a powerful feature with conditional settings that allows you to send specific emails depending on the criteria. List segmentation is also very useful where we can target our audience based on their properties, something that has helped us a lot. The interface in general is very simple and intuitive for a beginner user that is new to HubSpot. Email result reporting is also very useful because we track our email performances to understand what works and what does not.
What do you dislike about the product?
The drag and drop interface seems to be unresponsive when formatting the email. For example, font selection is not consistent; we have to select a different font and revert back to the font we want to use. This issue also applies to font color too. We have to double, triple check our emails before sending them out.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Personalization and automation. We often use HubSpot contact properties to personalize our emails and we frequently use the workflow feature a lot to run our campaigns. This allows us to focus more on strategy rather than manually timing our email sends. We're also trying to understand our audience's reaction to our emails. With reporting, we have a better, clearer image of what is effective.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Make sure your database has a strong structure foundation before importing them into HubSpot. A clean database will allow you to harness 100% of HubSpot's capabilities in terms of automation, personalization and segmentation. Use the workflow, it is very a intuitive and powerful tool to use if you want to automate and target your email sends.

Incredibly customisable CRM

  • November 23, 2020
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
The capacity to achieve almost any requirement through workflows. We have increased organisational efficiency by automating so many administrative processes which previously required tedious and manual input, taking up staff time.
What do you dislike about the product?
Not being able to set user view permissions for certain properties. As an educational institution it's frustrating that every user is able to see every bit of student data, which means we have to limit access to Hubspot as a whole to certain teams and staff members. It's also quire frustrating to not be able to schedule emails in relation to other emails to avoid clashes. Similarly, it'd be nice to see a feature like MailChimp's scheduling according to historic open/click rates, to analyse and automatically determine the best day/time to send an email to particular audiences.

More layers of form logic is also something we'd like to see. Currently you can only have one layer of form logic, but we segment our audience according to combinations of various dependant criteria
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We are now able to develop far more efficient strategic communications depending on audience segmentation. What's most amusing is being told that something isn't possible, only to then find a workaround using intricate workflows.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Fully investigate each feature and determine the best use. There are so many features that it's likely you'll wish you had implemented something earlier.

Easy to use: Self-taught

  • November 23, 2020
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Everything is very self-explanatory on the site and if you do run into any issues there is an intercom to help with this which is great. It is widely used so the forums are super helpful also, and you can get some great tips and tricks to up your performance. The workflows are a great way to ensure your automation of emails, and great to filter out leads or older customers.
What do you dislike about the product?
There can be a few issues with the integration of other sites, but usually, this can be rectified pretty easily with a few added plug-ins.

It would be great if the flows timings could be filtered further so contact of leads is done at peak times.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Contacting all of our leads immediately with an email or text automation rather than manually.

Tracking the calls and progress of each team member.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Integration is key, so make sure you can integrate your older systems with hubspot.

Great set of tools for a marketeer

  • November 23, 2020
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Hubspot combines many of the tools that markeers use in their everyday jobs and makes the automation quite an easy task. Creating landing pages, adding forms to these pages and making (email) workflows for them is easy and intuitive. You can also have full control over your Social Media postings and ads here. You can even set up detailed reports around your marketing funnel to follow all the important insights.
What do you dislike about the product?
You have to pay extra for many small additions that would make your work easier. With already quite a high price that the tool goes for, it makes it quite a turn off.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I use Hubspot for capturing leads and automate their further journey with my company using workflows, automated emails and other great solutions like e.g. lead scoring. The platform also helps connecting my company's marketing and sales efforts into one - giving both departments an easy overview of each lead/customer's journey.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
I got a lot out of their 2 day course that was fully focusing on their marketing tool.

The tool is expensive and you have to account for the additional costs such as add-ons and e.g. paying for bigger contact base than the initial 3000. Make sure you can afford it before you start using it.

What do you like best about the product?
Hubspot is a powerful tool for marketing teams to get the most out of their inbound marketing efforts, Their email functionality, social media and Paid Ads integrations are great and the marketing automation workflows are essential to our follow-up and sales process.
What do you dislike about the product?
The CRM is OK for our needs but can be limited when it comes to reporting and pipeline management. And overall, the attribution reporting is limited unless you upgrade to the more advanced reporting.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Hubspot Marketing Hub really helps us manage our large volume of inbound leads and automate much of our marketing efforts.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Hubspot is a great solution if your are sticking with the Marketing Hub. If you have more advanced CRM or Sales Automation tools, it works better aligned with other tools.

What do you dislike about the product?

Best Tool I've Used So Far - Gets The Job Done

  • November 23, 2020
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
My primary 9-5 job utilizes the Hubspot suite of tools, so I'm very familiar with the capabilities, the way the tools work together, and how they compare to some of the alternatives on the market that I've used or tested for my small business or through my freelance work as a marketer. While Hubspot definitely has its quirks, and the cost of the tools are best-suited for mid-size organizations and larger, I really enjoy just how much you can do with it. The integration of content hosting, landing pages, email tools, and social media scheduling has made our marketing team very successful.

We recently merged with another company and had to do a review to determine if we'd move to Salesforce's content management tool or if we'd integrate the salesforce sales tools with our Hubspot instance (since we use the content management system so heavily) and I was beyond relieved that we stayed with Hubspot for marketing. Comparing to the salesforce add-on's capabilities, it was very clear that Hubspot was the better alternative.
What do you dislike about the product?
Hubspot, like any platform, definitely has its quirks. Just like in web design, sometimes things just don't work as planned unless you get them just right. I'm still learning Hubspot's custom code language, Hubl, to try and improve our team's ability to customize templates for emails, blogs, and landing pages.

Additionally, updates to the tools tend to remove key features or change how they work, and that always throws a wrench in our productivity. I understand that updates to a tool are necessary, but it seems like every few months Hubspot is completely redesigning an editor that you JUST got the hang of using. This issue is headed our way once again as the "legacy" email editor is on its way out in a month or two, and we're now having to open a ticket with support because our key email templates aren't working with the new editor. (Insert eyeroll here.)

On the bright side, Hubspot support is always responsive, helpful, and willing to escalate to the necessary teams when you have an issue. We really appreciate that aspect when we run into issues like this.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
In the last three years of building the marketing strategy of our company, we've been able to see real results for inbound marketing. With the right content and an integrated system to publish it, house it, and deliver it to our audience, we've been able to hit the ground running and begin building a successful marketing approach.
