Efficient Yet Complex Tool for Remote Device Management
What do you like best about the product?
I really like how fast Tanium is. You can run a query and get results almost instantly across a lot of devices, which is super helpful when troubleshooting. I also appreciate that you can take action straight away from the same place, like pushing fixes or updates, which simplifies things a lot. The speed really makes a big difference for us, allowing us to quickly check all devices and identify issues, whether it's affecting one user or more, helping us narrow things down fast. The ability to take immediate action without switching tools—like pushing a fix, restarting a service, or even running a script—is very useful and makes troubleshooting much quicker and less frustrating, especially when dealing with multiple users at the same time. It also helps us with visibility and control, showing device status and enabling issue resolution without needing to go onsite.
What do you dislike about the product?
One thing with Tanium is that it can be a bit complex at times, especially when you start using it. There's a lot of features, and it's not always obvious where to find certain things. The interface feels a bit cluttered, like there's too much going on, so it takes a bit longer to get used to. Reporting could be improved, like making it easier to generate simple reports without needing to build everything from scratch. Also, the dashboard could be more customizable so you can see the most important stuff at a glance. Right now it works, but you kind of need to dig around.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I use Tanium for visibility and control, quickly seeing device status, pushing updates, and troubleshooting remotely. It's fast, allows immediate actions, and saves time compared to older tools, especially for managing machines and ensuring they're up-to-date.
All-in-One Asset Management, Security, and Patching Made Easy
What do you like best about the product?
combines multiple functions—like asset management, security, and patching—into one system. That makes it easier to manage everything in one place instead of juggling a bunch of different tools.
What do you dislike about the product?
It's Can be complex. uses many modules (separate parts), and putting everything together can get complicated. Some people feel it’s “too much” just to do basic tasks.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Without tools like this, it can take hours to react to a cyberattack. Tanium speeds this up to seconds. It helps quickly find and fix devices that are missing updates (which are common security risks).
Simplifies Error Resolution with Speed and Accuracy
What do you like best about the product?
I like that Tanium is organized and well-prepared. It helps me with fast replying and analyzing skills, and I appreciate that it's always improving itself. The simplicity and accuracy of Tanium are also big pluses for me. Additionally, the initial setup was very easy.
What do you dislike about the product?
nothing
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Tanium helps me learn to solve specific IT errors, like a Bluetooth issue on my PC, with fast replies and analysis. It's organized and simple, aiding my study and improvement with accurate, always improving steps.
Simplifies Multi-OS IT Management on a Single Platform
What do you like best about the product?
The fact that it reduce the complexity and cost of managing IT by replacing multiple point solutions with a single platform for managing multiple OS is the feature i like the most.
What do you dislike about the product?
I can't say there is a feature that I don't like about Tanium, but in our country context the pricing for this product is a bit hire for most clients and the fact that they don't get much discount make them prefer other products.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
While i was working for large organization with many devices but small number of IT staffs Tanium help Real-Time Asset Visibility by Discovery, inventory, and manage all hardware and software assets across on-premises, cloud, and remote environments.
Highly Customizable to Fit Any Environment
What do you like best about the product?
Ability to customize to any environment and leverage the technology for all of my needs. I can create custom software packages and sensors and automate everything!
What do you dislike about the product?
Not everything is included with your license cost so if you want to unlock additional features you are always having to open the checkbook. Every module costs more money and leaves gaps in coverage if your company does not have the funding for them.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Visibility into systems as well as the ability to deploy the same package across multiple end points ensuring that our systems are all operating on the same patch level, software version, and we are remediating the vulnerabilities in our environment.
Streamlined Endpoint Management with Ease
What do you like best about the product?
I use Tanium for endpoint management tasks such as patching systems, software deployment, and enforcing policies. It allows us to manage our assets more efficiently and provides the most up-to-date information from the system, which is a game changer for running quick reports on compliance and software usage. The Patch module is particularly impressive, saving over 10 hours each month by automating our patch schedule and simplifying the process of investigating and fixing deployment errors right from the console.
What do you dislike about the product?
Overall, it is a streamlined package, but I feel there is a few weird quirks. Like if you want to send a software deployment out to a handful of computers and you already have the computer names, you either have to build a computer group for the one-time deployment or build a question, should be able to just have an Ad-hoc list like they do in the sensors area.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I use Tanium for endpoint management, patching, and software deployment. It helps us manage assets efficiently and provides up-to-date system information. The Patch module automates our patch schedule, saving us 10+ hours monthly and simplifies error investigation.
Powerful Tool with Great Support, Needs Minor Tweaks
What do you like best about the product?
I use Tanium for patching, gathering data at scale, as well as deploying fixes and software at scale. One of the major problems it solves is providing a single pane of glass look into our environment, offering insight across several domains from a single location. I really like the ease of use and the support behind the product. If there's an issue we cannot solve, Tanium support is there to get a Subject Matter Expert to assist. Once I completed the required training, it's pretty easy to get what I want from the tool. Overall, this is an extremely powerful tool.
What do you dislike about the product?
The discover module, at least for our setup, is not great. Since this is a client-based tool, it should be easy to know "Hey Server3 was active yesterday, but is no longer reporting today", or with the peer networking... "Hey I'm connected to the cloud but I see this other server on my block and he's not connected."
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I use Tanium for patching, data gathering, and deploying fixes at scale. It solves the problem of needing a single pane of glass view into multiple domains, allowing insight from one location.

Fast, Capable Platform with a Great Interface and Strong TAM Support
What do you like best about the product?
Interface, Quickness of reaching endpoints, Large set of capabilities, Weekly meeting with TAM, Product has it's pulse on real world issues, Package Gallery reduces packaging load
What do you dislike about the product?
Big software with a lot of users - changes to the software even when smart are very slow to come in production. Role based access user management is very complicated to understand.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Ease of reaching multiple endpoints in different domain/environments with a few simple requirements (software/network ports). Patching large environment. Getting answer to generic questions with whatever can be scripted.
Vast Network Visibility, Steep Learning Curve
What do you like best about the product?
I use Tanium to gain visibility and control over every device. I’m no longer blind to what happens across the network and infrastructure. I like how it works as a command center for all my infrastructure.
What do you dislike about the product?
It's overall great, but the learning curve can be steep. Also, if CPU usage could be optimized, that would be helpful. The initial setup wasn't very easy, though it was worth it.
