What do you like best about the product?
What I appreciate about this product is how effortlessly it bridges the gap between data and understanding. In a classroom setting, it allowed me to demonstrate dashboards and reports in a way that was both visually engaging and easy for students to grasp.

While it is a powerful, user-friendly tool, one area that could be improved is the initial onboarding experience. New users often face a steep learning curve, especially when navigating advanced features like data modelling or custom visualizations.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Using IBM Cognos Analytics in the Classroom has been a game-changer for demonstrating real-world data insights to students, management, CxO level. Its interactive dashboards and visually rich reports make complex concepts more accessible and engaging. The platform's intuitive design allowed me to focus on storytelling with data rather than just the technicalities, helping clients connect analytics to practical decision-making.

Depending on Data Structure and fields, may be difficult to pull the correct information
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Ability to quickly access aggregated or compilation of data with all info in single report. Ability to dump into ms excel for further compilation and filtering

What do you like best about the product?
I utilize Cognos behind a storage management tool. As I have been using it for awhile, the overall ease is what I like.
What do you dislike about the product?
Nothing major comes to mind, overall I find it easy to use and provides the flexibilty needed.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We use it behind a storage management tool and it enables us to customize reporting and analytics for both internal capacity/performance and for client specific data.
Its a very good reporting product that's eaasy to use.
What do you like best about the product?
Its a powerful complex analytics tool that can handle complex query builds with various integration features. It can integrate with IBM Netezza database directly as well to suit reporting needs.
What do you dislike about the product?
Time taken to learn and use and sometimes specifically to the softwares it integrates with may be a bit cumersome or challenging.

Allows us to extract data from different data sources and combined them into one report/dashboard

More complex reports and large amount of data can cause the report to run slow.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
It allows us as a government contractor to control our projects by tracking them in terms of funding and time. I have seen a report save project managers hours of work by not having to do everything by hand.
I am very please with our Cognos Analtics experience.

It easy to use and with small effort we can bring much business value to our users.

Learning curve is steep for new colleagues, for us as a long term users its not big deal.
