Effective and User-Friendly Bot Protection

  • June 27, 2025
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
I used Arkose Labs as part of a recent project, and it really helped in reducing spam and bot traffic on our platform. What stood out to me was how user-friendly their challenges were—much better than traditional CAPTCHAs. Integration was smooth, and I didn’t face any major technical issues. I also liked the detailed traffic insights and analytics they provided, which gave a clearer picture of suspicious activity. Overall, it made our platform more secure without annoying genuine users. I would definitely consider using Arkose Labs again in future projects where fraud prevention is important.
What do you dislike about the product?
The setup process was slightly complex and could benefit from more beginner-friendly guidance.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Arkose Labs solves the problem of bot attacks, fake account creation, and online fraud by using advanced, user-friendly challenge-response tests. This has helped me ensure only genuine users access our platform, reducing spam, improving security, and maintaining a smooth user experience.

Provide different types of challenges to secure way to communicate tokens and good for multi-platform or device-supported application

  • July 24, 2024
  • Review provided by PeerSpot

What is our primary use case?

The main use case of Arkose was for fraud prevention. But we also used secure connections between servers using keys. Arkose provides secret and private keys. When we hit a request, we pass those keys, and they verify the request. We send a blob to our server for a secure connection. That's how we implemented it.

What is most valuable?

I like that they provide different types of challenges, which we implemented locally and with an HTML file for the web browser team. They also provide a secure way to communicate tokens before sending them to our web service. We send details in our request to the Arkose endpoint URL.

I also like that they challenge crawling in CAPTCHA for mobile. This is good compared to the traditional way because most applications do not use Arkose. It's good when you have a multi-platform or device-supported application. But maybe I'm wrong; this is just my opinion.

What needs improvement?

Arkose need to provide something for testing. Maybe some test accounts or testing features. For example, I need to check our Arkose token fully, but sometimes it doesn't appear. Even if we are setting it in our web browser, our code is unable to use it. They should improve the testing properties in their SDK or library. It's not coming consistently, even though they say they are always passing it. Maybe Arkose can update that.

For how long have I used the solution?

In my last project, I used Arkose for around two months. We implemented it in our applications before sign-in and sign-up due to security concerns. Similar to how we use CAPTCHA in web browsers, we use it in our mobile application.

What do I think about the scalability of the solution?

In the last project, most people used it. We used it for Android, iOS, and the web browser, and the development team used it for development-related things.

So, there were around over a hundred users.

Which solution did I use previously and why did I switch?

The company decided to use Arkose rather than something else for security reasons. We don't want unwanted requests from bots or other malicious actors. It's a multi-user, multi-platform application.

If too many users ping the same URL using Forcemail or something similar, the server will be down. We wanted an extra layer of security, so we used Arkose.

How was the initial setup?

It's not hard to implement. It's easy.

What about the implementation team?

Another developer handled the backend, so I never looked into that. But I interacted with it once regarding security. When we updated a new release with new keys, we weren't securely passing the blob-related data. We connected with DevOps to fix that.

What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing?

The pricing depends on how many users you have.

What other advice do I have?

I would recommend to use it if someone is interested in using Arkose for the first time. You provide authentication when a user types their username and password on your website or mobile app. But, you also provide an extra layer of security with Arkose by using an extra token. We can use it on websites, at least.

For mobile, people use authentication with Google or phone numbers. It's authenticated by OTP. Google and Apple already provide default sign-ins, so there's no need for Arkose on mobile unless you use custom email IDs and passwords without SSO. You can use it on websites to create custom fields for registration and login.

The documentation is also good. Maybe there is room for improvement on the backend side. But for usability and implementation, it would be a ten. I didn't face any issues when I implemented it in our applications.

Amazing tool for fighting fraud

  • July 11, 2023
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Arkose has excellent technology with proprietary rules and practices that detect and remediate fraud. Perhaps as important, they are implemented as a Managed Security Service Provider (MSSP) with a Security Operations Center, which makes them a true partner in addressing fraud.
What do you dislike about the product?
Not sure I have a downside, the overall solution is working well.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
The primary initial reason for engaging Arkose is to fight SMS pumping attacks.

Arkose Labs: The Ultimate Fraud Detection and Mitigation Solution

  • April 20, 2023
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Their ability to automatically detect volumetric attacks, combined with a wide range of adaptive puzzles, ensures an optimal user experience while maintaining robust security. The platform's customization options and detailed feedback provide invaluable insights, enabling continuous improvement and keeping the system ahead of emerging threats.
What do you dislike about the product?
I'd love more of the slow and low attacks to be more proactively detected and mitigated. The feedback loop can sometimes be tedious to get right. That said, it's still a world better than vendors where no feedback loop is even possible. Their SOC makes Arkose the clear market leader.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
By integrating their solution into our sign-in, sign-up, and account recovery processes, we have successfully achieved the following:

Sign-in flow protection: Arkose Labs effectively detects and mitigates list validation attacks, preventing bad actors from testing millions of username and password combinations. This has significantly reduced the risk of account takeover (ATO) and improved overall security.

Sign-up flow security: Arkose's advanced detection capabilities have allowed us to identify and block bad actors attempting to create bad actor accounts (BAA) at scale. This has not only enhanced our platform's integrity but also minimized the potential for future abuse.

Account recovery cost control: By using Arkose Labs to identify and thwart malicious attempts to exploit our account recovery process, we have effectively reduced unnecessary SMS spend. This has resulted in significant cost savings without compromising the user experience for legitimate account holders.

Close partnership to solve our abuse problems

  • November 16, 2022
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Arkose has a dedicated team of analysts working on our product to ensure we're constantly improving who gets Captcha and how hard. This helps us mitigate against attacks while ensuring good user experience
What do you dislike about the product?
Analyst work a lot of times fall short of experiment analysis practices that help inform a product decision. I'd like analyst work to show more impact / better drive towards a decision
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Bots, compromise to keep bad actors off the platform via friction

Arkose is a game changer

  • November 16, 2022
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Arkose is a two way door product backed by a rich security engineering culture and operational SOC team.

With reCaptcha we had very little engagement and support from google, it was a one way door. We ingested the response and acted on it. With Arkose we can dynamically tune and iterate on the product to respond to bad actors TTPs, game changing!

I'm most impressed with Arkose commitment to continuous product iteration and operational day to day SOC support.
What do you dislike about the product?
Continue to focus on latency reductions, which are already much improved with the v4 api and can be optimized with server localized calls non-cross region calls.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Bad actor defenses

Arkose offers industry leading fraud mitigation that is head and shoulders above the competition

  • September 29, 2022
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Arkose provides additional meta-data on top of the Captcha that gives our team insights into the nature of a given entity, and what risks it might represent.
What do you dislike about the product?
We had some hiccups with alerting initially, which were promptly resolved by their support team.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
They help lower the ROI for bad actors creating new accounts on our product by increasing friction at signup without impacting legitimate customers.
