SMX Elevate Cloud Assured Managed Services
Centralized view has simplified modem checks and has improved troubleshooting speed
What is our primary use case?
What is most valuable?
I appreciate that it displays all the important information on one screen, such as if it's online, light levels of the fiber coming in, and whether they have anything connected to the equipment. It tells me exactly what that equipment is, such as their firewall or router. It will give me the MAC address, and from there I can look up what device it is.
What needs improvement?
I don't appreciate the way that the alarms show. When there is an alarm, the search functionality for it is a bit awkward. I want to be able to check alarms and have it show me only the alarms for that particular device instead of everything on the network and then having to refilter it. It gets a little finicky sometimes, especially in the moment when I'm trying to troubleshoot.
For how long have I used the solution?
I have been using SMX for probably about seven or eight months.
What do I think about the stability of the solution?
I haven't had any issues with it since I've been using it. It has always worked.
What do I think about the scalability of the solution?
I think it's very scalable because it has hundreds of equipment in it for a large region of customers. It's perfect for this purpose.
Which solution did I use previously and why did I switch?
There's another tool called CMS that I might use sometimes.
How was the initial setup?
It was actually very easy because it's straightforward. This is one of the only tools that has a graphical user interface. For all other equipment and markets, I rely on logging into the modems or their equipment through the CLI, the command-line interface. In the CLI, I have to know all the commands and things of that nature. SMX makes it much easier.
Which other solutions did I evaluate?
I prefer SMX because it presents the information in a cleaner way. The graphical user interface is much more modern.
What other advice do I have?
I would rate this product a 9 out of 10.

What needs improvement?
There is room for improvement in enhancing AI capabilities for threat detection, especially in tracking different locations. It would be ideal to develop more in terms of databases for cross-checking performance across various locations.
Additional improvements could be made in post-hacking capabilities, KPIs, specific APIs, and data structures for a product manager.
