Apptio has been great in give us the visibility of our cloud environment
What do you like best about the product?
It’s an intuitive platform. After just a few days of using it, you can gain a variety of insights into your environment
What do you dislike about the product?
There are integration gaps between the modules. For instance, cost sharing isn’t supported within the plan dimensions, making information management more challenging.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Apptio gave us the capacity to analyze our cloud cost in detail.

It helps to bring IT cost transparency for our cloud resources providing deep analytics and dashboarding which helps us keep track and report on excessive cost spending

Often processes data in batches , not real time

What do you like best about the product?
Easy to integrate many data sources. User friendly interface that allows scenario modeling (very useful for upper management discussions). Sophisticated dashboard and reporting functionalities that allow for customize reporting. Great support by vendor provided with regards to training users.
What do you dislike about the product?
Initial set up required significant commitment in terms of time spent mapping and cleaning up data sources. Fees can be steep (licensing and ongoing service fees)
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We utilize Apptio to manage and justify IT budgets and upcoming projects. It helped us identify the best value for our tech dollars spent.

The possibility to monitor costs and adjust fallouts with append data

What do you dislike about the product?
it is not easy to configure the product, and we needed the help of a system configurator provider to help us tu settle the configuration and provide application maintenance services
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
It has decreased the effort to extract all the data needed for benchmarking purposes, after adding some additional details, such as project, cost pool and subpool, industrial accounting product and subtower element to the IT Tower report collection

There are no downsides as such.
Few recommendations I have include - Modules need to be built full fledged. Some pieces appear missing - but i know Apptio is trying their best to include those in upcoming launches.

What do you like best about the product?
Josh & Team gave us quick demo, we liked it. Turbonomics and Apptio FinOps tools looks great fit, but we have to evaluate how effectively those can contribute to ING ecosystem and requirements.

From the demo we received, nothing to dislike

The numbers often dont align with AWS cost explorer. The features like delivery of pdf reports to email that were promised during implementation were never delivered

We have reached out to the Apptio multiple times about the features that they promised and did not deliver. These requests essentially went nowhere.
