Posthog is great for analytics
What do you like best about the product?
I like that Posthog provides you with many existing events that hook into your product to get you up and running quickly. The webhook feature of Posthog is also extremely useful to allow for capturing your events and exporting them to other databases where they can be manipulated and stored.
What do you dislike about the product?
I dislike the lack of a central dashboard to view all events. I also dislike that there are no charts that show you the usage of your events, but these can easily be built using patterns.app.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Posthog solves the problem of setting up your product analytics platform. Additionally, it allows you to host your historical analytics in the cloud instead of recording this information yourself.
Easy, straightforward product analytics
What do you like best about the product?
Easy to set up and to tag. Had in running in half a day, and gained insights by the end of the day. Really great blog and documentation as well. Puts you on the right path right from the get go.
What do you dislike about the product?
So far, I'm pretty happy. Haven't dived into this to point out downsides, though I'm sure there are.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I finally have a view of customer behaviour statistics. But not only that, as PostHog also records screen constantly, it is really easy to see individual behaviours and also solve specific customer problems.
Really helpful tool for product analytics
What do you like best about the product?
Very user friendly and has many helpful features for product analytics. Would recommend for other PMs.
What do you dislike about the product?
Sometimes can feel a bit slow but nothing major.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Better understanding of our product
Best tool to analyse what visitors do on website
What do you like best about the product?
posthog skips the inactive session, thus saving time
What do you dislike about the product?
nothing, however I feel video player can be improved
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Understand cutomer behaviour, and improve website and user experience
PostHog had a low barrier to entry but high returns
What do you like best about the product?
One of the best things about PostHog is how easy it was to install and get started. All I needed need to do is add a few lines of code to our web app. Once I realised that PostHog cloud did not meet our needs I was happy to find there was a self hosted option.
What do you dislike about the product?
The self-hosted version can be a bit tricky to set up on Amazon Lightsail and I have been unable to get session recordings fully functioning due to a reverse proxy mis-configuration. This is more on the LightSail side though.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Allowing more granular user segmentation based on behaviour
Highlighting drop-off at certain points of the product
Providing insight into customer support requests

Providing insight into customer support requests
A super simple tool to get deep insights
What do you like best about the product?
Great dashboards and very useful recordings.
What do you dislike about the product?
Nothing special, maybe the only thing I'm missing is the default attribution for referrers without UTM parameters.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Understanding our customer's journeys
Great product but missing many features.
What do you like best about the product?
The Dashboard has a great design.
Setup was painless
Docs are pretty good.
Love that it can be controlled via API.
Session recordings are fantastic.
Price is reasonable.

What do you dislike about the product?
Feature flags are too limited (only booleans and limited key variants?) why?
The filtering is terrible. If I want everyone except 1 cohort to see a flag I have to add ALL other cohorts and set their rollouts to 100%? that's dumb. I should be able to just add the 1 cohort I don't want to see it, and set their rollout to 0%.
Also filtering on user properties is bad. Why aren't there options for simple "contains" filter? Why do I have to use regex to match a simple case like email contains "@company"?

Better pricing than logrocket for sessions.
Moving all tracking requests to 1 provider means our website makes less analytics network requests which is good.
Before we were using
woopra for analytics
LogRocket for session recordings
FlagSmith for feature flags.

it allows me to find insights easily
What do you like best about the product?
i enjoy the ability to track events within the platform and track KPIs
What do you dislike about the product?
there is a high learning curve and I defer to our data specialist to pull information
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
posthot is giving us additional views of how users are engaging with our application
Great User-Friendly Insights
What do you like best about the product?
The way to breakdown cohorts in Posthog is such a useful feature for me and my team. Being able to derive insights based on the different tier memberships we have is invaluable.
What do you dislike about the product?
It does take a significant amount of time to test and track all the necessary events to on your platform/app to ensure that we receive accurate and valid data but having said that, it is worth the time!
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Posthog gives us clarity on what our customers are doing beyond the very obvious metrics of upgrades and searches. We are able to full visualise the journeys that they go through from initial sign-up all the way to the myriad of our desired actions.
Excellent set of features and capabilities, I'm thankful Posthog exists
What do you like best about the product?
All in one set of features: analytics, personas, journey recording, and logs. It's fantastic that you can choose between their cloud option and self-hosted depending on what's best for the project. The UI is unbelievably speedy, it feels like black magic compared to the SPAs of other products.
What do you dislike about the product?
I'd love to have SQL access to the data. I wish deploying Posthog plugins/apps on the cloud-hosted version was easier. I can't find a way to send Webhooks to a custom endpoint, apparently I can only configure Slack, Teams, etc. It would be nice to have even more integrations; for example, the Customer.io plugin receives data from Posthog but does not send it back.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Product analytics, seeing how people use our web app, getting insights quickly.
Posthog's event viewer is AMAZING! Compare it to Mixpanel's UI, which makes it impossibly complicated to drill into the event fields and data.
