Love the service!
What do you like best about the product?
We really like the pricing of Posthog. It is cheaper for our needs than HotJar. It also lets us see more. The analytics also seems more accurate than Google analytics.
What do you dislike about the product?
I wish that I could pick a user and track exactly what they have done on the platform.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We want to see what users do on our site, especially things that they get stuck on.
Great experience
What do you like best about the product?
The potential recordings are quite interesting
What do you dislike about the product?
Nothing so far, potentially the UI/UX could be superior in other products
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Tracking product usage and analytics
PostHog is cool
What do you like best about the product?
Screen recordings are really great for pinpointing user frustrations
What do you dislike about the product?
I would like it if the dashboard came with a better set of default views
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Posthog solves user analytics and observability for us. It lets us get vital metrics on who's using our site and how they are using it.
Great value for startups but still needs polish and improvements for more established businesses
What do you like best about the product?
The product is open-source, and the team is very hands-on and receptive to feedback
What do you dislike about the product?
PostHog's analysis tools do not perform well when you have a lot of data
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Experimentation and analytics
Easiest way to analyze product usage without the need of the engineering team
What do you like best about the product?
PostHog also allows us to export our event data to S3 or even directly into Postgres, a key feature we were looking for. Most of our team members using PostHog are non-technical, and it's been very easy for them to all create custom dashboards and build insights based on what KPIs we are tracking.
Auto-capture with the Javascript library makes it easy to collect all activity across our web application. Then as the team has gotten more comfortable with PostHog we've begun to track custom events to better understand our customer behavior (in our web application) within our core workflows.

What do you dislike about the product?
Event streams are slightly delayed, but that seems to be expected after evaluating a few other analytic platforms. During the initial setup, it would be great to see more feedback regarding events that are streaming in real-time. For non-technical team members, there was a bit of a learning curve to setting up insights can be tricky as you need a bit of an intimate understanding of the incoming event's parameters to build the correct graphs.

We want to figure out a solution that would allow our team and future non-technical PMs (i.e. someone who doesn’t know SQL) to analyze product usage without needing the help of the engineering team. And PostHog offers a great way to do precisely that. Once the snippet is loaded, you also get a few "bonus" benefits as a byproduct, such as the session recording feature, which provides playback of what visitors are doing across our marketing pages.
When our team looked at other pure SQL query-based solutions that created graphs, the SQL was a nonstarter, which is understandable. PostHog provides a hybrid scenario where we capture and store the events as a first-party and then use PostHog to do product analytics. For example, PostHog will let you ingest historical events and use their analytic tools.

Great tool for analysis with good UI/UX
What do you like best about the product?
The UI/UX is awesome, no other service is like Posthog.
It is also very simple to create custom events even for our marketing team 😜
It is also very simple to create custom events even for our marketing team 😜
What do you dislike about the product?
For now nothing, maybe the high memory usage for on premises instance but it is ok
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Now we are able to track everything on our site and we have to implement feature flags
Better alternative to Google Analytics
What do you like best about the product?
price and flexibility. easier to use than google analytics
What do you dislike about the product?
learning curve, lack of templates. hard to initially set up
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
understanding usage and effectiveness of our beta platform. Understand user engagement and trends
Powerful self-hosted Product Analytics platform
What do you like best about the product?
We have complete access to all our data for no additional fee and can use it for more advanced insights by merging it with transactional data. PostHog's integration experience is at par with its top SaaS competitors.
What do you dislike about the product?
The UI is a bit clunky. The setup experience is a bit unpolished, especially with a data warehouse. It does not come with fancy data science based insights out of the box. Some features, like the tag system for insights and dashboards, seem incomplete.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
PostHogs is helping us better understand how our users interact with our apps and website. It helps us determine what parts need improvement to drive conversions and the UX.
New to PostHog but not to Product Analytics
What do you like best about the product?
The PostHog data stack is intuitive and easy to work with. The features they offer at the price they offer them are unmatched by our old provider and seem to lead the industry.
What do you dislike about the product?
We started using PostHog about a month ago, and so far, we haven't run into anything we don't like. We got up and running in a few minutes using the Auto Capture feature for our website. From there, we started dialing in our setup specifically for our organization.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
PostHog gives us a ton of insight into what our customers are doing on our website. Also, with the session recording feature, we can troubleshoot issues much easier and faster.
Data informed decisions
What do you like best about the product?
I love how easy it is to zoom into any particular funnel and find the screens or steps that are causing users to leave the experience and flow. The links are easy to share to colleagues and the visuals are also easy to understand.
What do you dislike about the product?
The learning curve to set up a funnel was tricky for myself. I needed a developer on my team to help me understand how the questions I wanted to answer translated to screen events.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We never had an easy way to learn from our designs. Now, we have a platform that lets us see if the work we ship is working or not working. We can use this data-point to help make decisions.
