Most Flexible CAD
What do you like best about the product?
Not being tied to a location is the most valuable aspect of OnShape.
What do you dislike about the product?
Occasional issues with very large assemblies, but you would have that with any CAD. Not being able to do sheet metal in mobile.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
The ability to create parts on the fly. The option to use computer or mobile operating systems creates fantastic flexibility.
Professional CAD for today's workflows
What do you like best about the product?
Onshape is fast, stable, and provides full parametric modelling (or just a viewer!) in a browser. This is a remarkable benchmark for communicating 3D design information to non-CAD stakeholders, suppliers, and partners. Sharing CAD data using permissions rather than emailing files, means that there are no duplicate copies of files that could be used in production by mistake. The fact that permissions can be controlled and revoked at any time provides industry-leading intellectual property protection. Monthly feature additions and updates, along with super-responsive support staff makes using Onshape a pleasure.
It's clear that Onshape is developing these tools based on today's users, and eliminating many of the irritating problems with traditional CAD systems. Onshape is leaving out features that many don't need, improving or combining features we do need, and provides an innovative FeatureScript language for enterprising CAD users to develop their own functionality.

What do you dislike about the product?
Feature parity with our other CAD package, SolidWorks, is catching up fast, but there are still some important features missing for me.
Requirement for fast & stable internet connection.

What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Sharing CAD data and 3D concepts with non-CAD users (executives, suppliers, etc).
Fast & clean imports of partner's data for fit check and design validation.
Cost effective parametric modelling.
Flexible computer requirements means macOS users can get full CAD work done.

Recommendations to others considering the product:
Fully-capable for many industries. Make sure you have fast & reliable internet connections where you need to work.
Good bones, the devil is in the details
What do you like best about the product?
The version control and document managment
What do you dislike about the product?
No BOMs in drawings, Drawings in general need a little more work.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Version control, file managment, and getting rid of Solidworks
Mates are weird but otherwise great
What do you like best about the product?
No PDM and the motion studies are terrific.
What do you dislike about the product?
Mates can be clunky to set and no concentric mate.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Robots and the design thereof. We need to model things quickly and share the designs quickly with a decentralized system. How is it that robotics is not listed on the menu below?
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Figure out how to avoid taking surveys.
I'm very please with Onshape's functionality and simplicity.
What do you like best about the product?
It runs in a browser on Windows, Linux, Max, or Chrome OS. I'm doing solid modeling on a $159 Chromebox and that boggles my mind.
What do you dislike about the product?
I want better control of my files. I'd like to see a Google Drive sync API.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Time savings is dramatic. Onshape is easy to learn. If I could have better file integration with Google Drive or another cloud based file storage, I'd be all-in with Onshape for every CAD seat in our office.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
It's free to try it.

Great CAD software for a modern, innovative company
What do you like best about the product?
i believe the best features are related to the cloud aspect. The availability of all projects on any device, combined with the efficient version control and the real-time collaboration features make Onshape stand out. Furthermore, the user-friendliness of fhe software in combination with the power of the tools at the user’s disposal make Onshape a great tool for any design/engineering company. One specific example is the recent addition of configurations. It allows the user to change the value of certain parameters to make several design iterations from in one model space. Lastly, the customer support is collaborative and efficient in implementing user requested features in short time-frames.
What do you dislike about the product?
There is not much to dislkie considering the good customer support and the regular updates. It is obvous the company listens to the user base and uses the feedback they receive. This in mult opinion is the most important aspect a comany like Onshape should pay attention to.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
The fact that all versions can be stored in one document which is in the cloud is very efficient, both in terms of access and in terms of storage space.
The ability to easily share an aspect of a model with a customer while only allowing certain actions is also of great help

Fluid CAD-experience and great support, though I wouldn't use it to model a full oil rig just yet.
What do you like best about the product?
They call it the CAD-program for the future for a reason. I'm not talking about the modelling tools and CAD environment, though this is certainly modern as well, but the pricing model and never having to update/install and keep buying the next version of your CAD software every year to get the newest features and bug fixes. Onshape keeps everything updated for you, and even though it is sort of a work in progress, and some features may be lacking at the moment, new features are added every 3rd weeks and will very soon have everything you need.
Oh, and it has built in PDM.
Oh, and it has built in PDM.
What do you dislike about the product?
Some features are still lacking or not quite ironed out. But will probably be happy with them within the next year. There is little or no way to customize the CAD environment (GUI). Background colour for instance.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Easy to work on the same model for multiple team members, without an extra PDM system. The workflow of Onshape saves us a lot of time compared to our old file based CAD system. Editing properties/materials for multiple parts at once, for example, as all parts are available right there in the browser, without having to open a bunch of files from Windows Explorer.

Just do it
cloud computation brings reliability
What do you like best about the product?
cloud computation means more reliability
What do you dislike about the product?
some of the apps could be integrated in the software, and be free, some of them dont have good quality and I hope as there is space for others to compete onshape would have its own features embed to the product
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
consumer product design
Recommendations to others considering the product:
There has to be something done about the apps <-- quality, integration, prices
